i discovered this earlier this week messing with the cloak for the first time. i built a fit on protofits and seeing the numbers i told everyone in my corp to watch out for this becoming the next "thing"
benefits the minmatar scout the most. run all biotics for lulz. the thing you notice though is he doesnt have to mess with the stupid equipment wheel or switch to nova knives. this is a simple and user friendly way of cloaked combat.

except this "thing" has been around since uprising, the moment hand to hand combat granted a +50% efficacy bonus to myofibrils instead of the base damage, sorry to burst your bubble :p
The minny assault was my personal favourate because of its 5 highslots, 5 myofibrils for maximum 600 damage amusement

Yeah, the implementation of scouts made this a helluva lot easier, but the 'punchy scout's been around for a fairly long time now. I got a buddy, Icdedppul, who ran the Minmatar punchy scout way long before the scout buffs and cloaks, and man let me tell you, it was scary the stuff he could pull off with that suit.

It was good gameplay but shows just how screwed up cloaks make things. People were facing the player and no one saw him, over and over.

Trust me, it seems more useful than it actually is.
Running knives yields way easier kills and you get to shield tank.
The adv Minnie scout can only fit 1 comp kincat with a cloak and the ability to be scanned by all the other scout suits with using of a single precision enhancer makes running this fit economically unviable... It's more like a troll fit for use against really bad opponents. Any decent player will give you a hard time with your 180 ehp.

I'm wondering how long it will take for melee to over shadow knives.
You can melee out of cloak without switching. You can then immediately re cloak.
Stack shields and Myofibrils and you can OHKO any medium suit and below. 2 for heavies.
I posted the melee from cloak glitch in the bug forum, but I guess it's working as intended.

oh! you should've see scout-b series in CBT with maxed melee skills & myofibrils, then just go & camp CRU lol 
almost 1k dmg with single kung-fu punch & 1.6k dmg to head... now headpuches not doing extra dmg 
& yes it's fun, but now it works only against noobs (tunel vision ppl)

Personally I prefer the Minnie commando. Gets you up to bout 700-ish melee damage. I've not met anything I can't kill in two punches.

I knew that this can be a thing from day 1 of the cloak when I tested what actions you can do while cloaked.
I never skilled into a Minmatar Scout so never felt like trying it out.

I made a Minmatar alt before going to Korea so it's about where it needs to be now to test out all the features of max hacking, knives, and stims on a max racial suit.

lol with the 1400 armour amarr sentinels, 1000 armour gal assaults, 600 shield 600 armour caldari assaults... the melee fit is severely compromised... without even knowing it.
NOT TO MENTION: gal scout precision bonus, cal scout 3 highs for precision enhancers + range bonus, amarr scout crazy precision bonus + 600 armour tank...
Bye bye minmatar scout, i had faith till the end... knifing and punching till the end of dust

"composure and grace"......smh, as if it takes skill to be invisible and run behind people and 2 shot with them.
Any scrub can do what he's doing. What's disturbing is that devs are amazed at gameplay like this. No wonder the game is so cheesy and continues to grow in that area.

I really can't agree that any 'scrub' could pull this off. I'd say it takes a good situational awareness of when and where to pick your battles. You're also looking at a really big and specific sp investment for one if you want to take advantage of the melee bonuses on the Minmatar scout, which at 495hp damage a strike isn't that good considering how spotty melee hit detection can be. This is a really risky suit to run for this purpose of melee and quickly become ISK inefficient when you're already 25k isk into stacking myofibs and damps before any weapons. A 4k Gal Scout with a shotgun/knives (cloak or no cloak) is more effective in a similar scenario.

Edit: should say it wont work well, sure sometimes you will pull it off, but as a viable tactic its got a lot of holes.. dampening and hp being the major ones.. still really amusing though |
