A defenseless proto suited infantry unit with like roughly 600-800ish armor took out your 5k tank with proto swarms.
IDK which is worse :-
the fact that an infrantryman had enough time to kill you with swarms,
or
the fact you did not hop out to try find him, if it was possible, you sat on your 5k buffer + whatever ehp you had on your suit and swallowed it whole
or
the fact that after the first pop and if you received significant dmg, it did not register to go on the evasive or leave your 5k brick home
So here is how it works..you get to roll around in a vehicle with alot of armor,firepower, high to average mobility along with resistance to light arms fire however with the trade off of being a big visual target and loud on the other hand the AVer gets to be inconspicuous, slow to average mobility with the trade off being vulnerable to YOU + small arms fire, limited EHP.
However,the guy brought out his Sunday best to tango with you! And should have realized by the way you were taken out that the AVer is a niche player and not just your run of the mill an ordinary AVer. I would have found some solace in being killed by him/her. You finally got faced with a realistic threat in a one off instance and lost ! You have been clearly found wanting . But no props to the niche player who bested you..just b.itch on forums....

So now, for the last time, either balance the av and tanks, give out respecs, or reintroduce the damned enforcer HAV's, Logistic/Scout LAV's, and the Logi Dropships!
To put it blunt: Play the game and earn the SP instead of forum warrioring.
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change

You are 6 months too late bro.................... You apparently revelled in the 1.7 changes where your HAV was a death machine and ruined everyone's games and your results lulled you into thinking that being invincible and having the greatest fire power made you skilled at your craft...... RIP 1.3-1.5 where tankers were good and few disputed it. Mate RIP Chromosome. The best this game ever was by far. I dont know how one company can spend a year changing things yet still have an inferior product to the beta......

But it is true sadly...A respec may be usually cried for because of how players have to change playstyle but I'd take the differing route and simply say we've invested in something that didn't come with the warning "will nerf so don't invest in me please". You can bring up lasers and I'll bring up my logi suit. I mean what is the role of a logi in this game even? Add to it that with changed roles and equipment and other fixes that still need attention, it kind of gives the thought that no one should have any skill points at all until they have a firm setting as to how this game will "finally" look like at the weapon, equipment and dropsuit level.
It's really both sad and pathetic because everyone likes to drudge this topic up but few if any will actually understand that once CCP stops releasing equipment and new weapons and finally gets "fixes" in place, they can actually put in meaningful content in the form of new maps, challenges and the like.
Hate to say it but I can't actually think of any FPS title except CCP where the developers seemed confused as to the direction of the game and the role of the players in the game. I've played FF14 when it launched and I had more fun with that title than I did Dust and they were both free when I played and FF14's launch act was a tough cookie to beat initially in so far as bombing as badly as SquareEnix did. But wow, CCP damningly found a way to do far worse with far less and still continue to surprise me to this day For the record FF14 launched with a metacritic of 49!!! Advance to today and it's now 89 while dust sits at 59...
I need to both laugh and cry at this disparity where one game utterly sucked more than another title and can improve itself whereas another had HUGE potential and just landed nearly as bad as the relaunched Duke Nukem game. |
