So an "issue" some people are having with the Amarr Logi is that their uplink bonus doesn't apply when they switch to another suit after dropping uplinks, or if they die.
WELL NO **** IT WON'T APPLY
I don't see respected Minmatar logistics players complaining about their repair tool bonus not applying when they switch to another suit, or after they have died.
Heck, Amarr Logistics players don't even have to sacrifice their equipment to still get the bonus. In fact, they can use a suit with all uplinks, drop a ton of them, then switch out to another Amarr Logi fitting to use 3 other types of equipment while STILL getting the bonus to the uplinks they have dropped.
And the best part? Even if all of their uplinks are destroyed in-battle and their current logi suit without uplinks is destroyed, THEY DON'T LOSE THE UPLINKS FROM THEIR ASSETS. There is literally ZERO risk in running prototype uplinks, or even the LP/AUR uplink that gives a 50% reduction in spawn time.
Not to mention, uplinks are also the least expensive equipment in the marketplace by a HUGE margin. Viziam Uplink? 6,465 isk CreoDron Active Scanner? 11,535 isk Core Repair Tool? 13,215 isk Ishokone Nanohive? 17,310 isk
Heck, even the proto variants are super cheap compared to the variants for other equipment. It can cost up to 30k isk for a triage nano or flux scanner while the uplink variants cost about as much as the base prices for other equipment.

So explain this. Me in a dragon fly scout with a Templar uplink. I drop my link, later on get killed by a MD (so no bleed out) go to spawn screen and see what I'm 99% sure is my link there with a 3 second timer. It's on the pipes on Ashlands with enemies below it, 1 enemy (with the MD) on the pipes near it whom I kill because he can't get to it before I respawn. Every other link on the board was 3 seconds also.

I think amaar and caldari logi should keep their bonus on death, im an amaar logi and i dont even get to use my own bonus, ridiculous. Say i switch to another suit on death, yeah thats a given i should lose my bonus then. |

I should totally do a TYMNK (Things You Might Not Know) video about this!
So basically as long as you don't bleed out instantly, the spawn timer will continue to count down all the way to 3 seconds.
This is so that if you choose to wait for a revive, you won't be punished by a 10 second timer after you finally bleed out. Instead, if no one can revive you, you will have a 3 second spawn anywhere...almost like a reward for being patient. It's going to take X seconds for you to spawn in anyways, so why not wait a few seconds before you decide to kill your clone and start spawning.
If your clone is instantly terminated, the timers stop counting down and you will be stuck with the long timers (up to 15 seconds)
This is why it is even more IMPORTANT to terminate enemy clones by shooting the body after they die.

You should do an episode about dropship collision damage too. I was sure they toned it down but now when i tap a wall my incubus will blow up. And also in laggy matches if you slightly tap a wall you go down. Ive had some ridiculous deaths and it makes me wonder why the hell they cost so much if they go hard as a butterfly. |

You missed the part about my death was from MD. So instant bleed out. I'll try to cap some video of this.

If that is the case then by design the Amarr bonus is useless for an entire game mode for anything other than spawn count.

I have ran into sometimes where it's 5 seconds Auto Deploy but I assume that's just a bug.
Ambush negates spawn time modifiers by setting them all to 3 seconds.

Your analogy falls apart with your desire to dumb down the issue. Caldari and Amarr logistic bonuses are pretty useless unless that player hides in a corner after deploying. It's just not good game design. What's the reason not to have it apply? So that players can't max out both Caldari and Amarr and switch out/die? Do you really think that these bonuses make a large enough difference to justify skilling both to proto and spamming? Hell one standard flux grenade can clear out multiple equipments, it's not like clearing out equipment is hard. Mass drivers are also great for this.
Why would the rep tool bonus apply when you don't have a rep tool or the logi bonus apply when you don't have a scanner? You are purposefully making yourself sound like a fool for the sake of a very terrible argument. As it stands, there is no real reason to run Caldari or Amarr for their bonus since being the squishiest suits, they are liable to die and render whatever they did pointless. Might as well run scouts. The bonus should be tied to the equipment, hell before they nerfed all the equipments and added this stupid bonus system the equipment was already far greater. And you know what? Game wasn't broken.
Literally no logis asked CCP to nerf equipment and give these arbitrary bonuses. |

As an Amarr logi I have become okay with how the bonus works because LOL at trying to get something changed anyway.
Any uplink person with half a brain no longer runs them on an Amarr suit. Running your links on any other suit to get the actual advantage from it compared to zero advantage from the Amarr is the way to go. Minmatar and Gal logi should probably be the most popular option for dropping uplinks thanks to the fact that it only requires one equipment slot to put their bonus to use and they can use the rest to spam passive equipment.
TL;DR
All of us Amarr logis wasted our time getting level 5 because the entire bonus was poorly conceived and half ass implemented. This is the case with every suit in the game at this point tho. |

I don't understand how the Amarr Logi can't drop uplinks as well as other suits...

Wait, do people not know how the Amarr Logi bonus works? If your suit is no longer on the battlefield, your bonus goes away. When you are on the battlefield, the bonus COMES BACK.
As long as you keep spawning in the same suit, or if you switch to a different Amarr Logi suit, you STILL GET THE BONUS.
You can switch to an Amarr logi with a repair tool, a nanohive, and a scanner and any uplinks you drop will still be there, will still be getting the bonus, and will still be helping your team without you having to sit in a corner in the suit you dropped the uplinks in.

When I DIE, my minmtar logistics CANNOT keep repping players, therefore I CANNOT get the bonus from my repair tool until I spawn in again. It works the same way for all logistics classes, the Amarr and Caldari just get to keep their bonus without having the piece of equipment on their suit.

And in that video the logi lost 0 suits while his/her allies lost many.

I don't think people would care if the Amarr and Cal logis were just better to run all the time with. I have them both at ADV and I never use them. I use my Min logi 100% of the time to logi with.
That's the issue IMO. I hardly ever see anyone running either.
People want to spam stuff with those suits because they can't wait to get into better suits.

100% true.
Personally I spawn in with a Gal scout, sneak around and drop the links, then switch to the Amarr logi suit to take advantage of the bonus. Works fine except the suit itself is pretty gimped nowadays in general compared to the other classes...

OP forgetting that in serious games the most common reason for suit change is - Death and respawn.
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change
