Especially in very urban areas.

There are several seed banks, afghanistan was one was recently ransacked. The seed banks are more of a genetic foundry than a repopulation effort considering how damaging hyper capitalism has an effect on agriculture. Case in point there used to be hundreds of more apple varieties in the world, now we only have a small handful left because it is what is demanded. The lack of variety in consumed plants is becomming their downfall as well. The history of the 5 great extinction events during Earth's past is pretty amazing. Especially the first one "The Great Dying." Life on Earth came very close to being completely wiped out. And when, not if, Yellowstone's Super Volcano does erupt life as we know it will come to an end as the entire planet's atmosphere will be filled with ash for many years and Sunlight will not be able to penetrate it. The only catastrophe worse than a super volcano eruption is an Asteroid impact. Gun control is not about guns...it's about control.
