We have all heard complaints from corps and squads about random blues being useless and not wanting to help. They are looked down upon for lack of skill/stupidity. In general they really don't care about you or trying to win.
Now let's be honest with ourselves for a moment. Do you really give a rat's ass about blueberries? You never ever ever let them in your vehicles (this one is kind of understandable), many of you who run in squads will never revive someone who is not in your squad. I have been on alts and died next to a logi repping his squadmate sentinel while there was no hostiles anywhere near and rather than stopping for 2 seconds to revive me they will sit there repping the already full hp heavy as he stands there. I have also died with a bunch of people and they will revive everyone who died right around me because they are in a squad and literally leave me there......this one happens A LOT. I have even seen people say here on forums that they have the mindset that everyone outside their squad is garbage and they don't expect anything from them. Yet these are the same people who complain that they lost because of idiot blue's. If your not going give them any credit for a win then you can't give them ALL the credit for every loss.
All i'm saying is that if you want blue to give a damn you have to give a damn too. Maybe revive or cover them every once in a while. It's like we abuse them and ask for their help at the same time and wonder why they only play for themselves. They might not be in your squad but they are still on your team. |

Iv stopped running logi because more killing power is needed on the field most of the time.
I find myself being one of the few players per match who are actively trying to make a difference. Blues 9/10 times seem to be more concerned with saving their own skin than actually playing as a team and making a difference.
I also get very aggravated when they are literally all over the map. I don't mind the guys who are clearly exploring because they are new though.
One thing vets do that I hate is when they put uplinks up high in a match full of newbs. You end up with their whole team up high doing nothing until they are orbital striked or they trickle in 1 or 2 at a time vs 8+ and get farmed.

Totally agree my logi gets a lot of rest during some matches now, being a logi is lame. Even lamer when your some heavy's b!tch on a leash. Now I run commando and scouts at least half the round
But I'm totally guilty of putting uplinks all over the map ( strategically tho I think ) better farmed " free range " than in the redzone. At least I think.

I don't let blues in my vehicles when I'm playing with a squad because they have no idea what to do and take a space for a squad member. Have had a few die because of that.
I don't revive blues because they often die in the open and in front of a heavy or something. I'd like to help, but the ones worth helping are few. Most are stupid, I will not risk my suit to reward their stupidity, they will never learn.

Yeah the cost vs blue idiocy/selfishness for logi now just isn't worth it.
Hehe, I guess you are right with the uplinks. Best to just get it over and farmed with lol.

I actually do the exact opposite and here's why I feed the enemy team with uplinks poorly place so that one beautiful day comes. They either get tired of spawning in front of heavies and run their own tactical links!
Or I run logi dot the map go back to the redline and get a forge gun. Most of the time a solo artist without squad backup can slow down the onslaught of vehicle spam that happens once all the new guys decide I need to rally in the redline. Help us CCP you're our only hope

I'm inclined to agree with you both. My Logi gets very little action these days, there's either nothing for me to do, or the team is getting stomped so bad I can't be of any help.
In relation to the OP, if I am running Logi squad comes first at all times but I won't abandon the team. If I see a group of blues in an intense fight I'll go drop a hive do a quick rep/revive if the situation allows. During quiet periods I will patrol the area topping everyone up until my squad moves on.
If my squad doesn't need my support, I'll happily go follow a group of randoms and give them a hand.
Gotta share that LogiLove. |

I am in an ADS 99.99% of the time playing dust. When I see a single or multiple blues take over a point, most of the time I will land and try n give em a ride to the next red point. This is a gamble because half the time they don't jump out, and if they do it is in a bad spot.
I look at the overhead map when at a depot to see where my teammates are so I can provide arial support, I am all about working with the team.
If I had an eject button I'd be in business haha but for now I have to sit opening and closing the bay doors till they get the hint.

Logi here. First, +1. Second, let me break this down and reply because I have been guilty of a lot of this stuff.
Beastlina wrote:We have all heard complaints from corps and squads about random blues being useless and not wanting to help. They are looked down upon for lack of skill/stupidity. In general they really don't care about you or trying to win.
Now let's be honest with ourselves for a moment. Do you really give a rat's ass about blueberries? Sometimes no, sometimes yes. First, I tend to prioritize squadmates before teammates because we are able to communicate (really wishing there was proximity chat). Secondly, some of the blueberries I see are running Frontline or Medic (I swear no one runs Anti Armor, and the Sniper fit is stuck in Redline Hills). Those suits are, for the most part expendable and based on my experience, is now in the open with 9 enemies looking at the body waiting for me to come and revive it. Third, yes, I suck at dropping ammo. I need to do that more often.
Beastlina wrote:...many of you who run in squads will never revive someone who is not in your squad. Three reasons. One I stated above, you died in a killbox and my heavy is trying to provide suppressive fire to clear the enemy long enough for me to revive you and sometimes I'm sitting there trying to determine when the right moment is to revive you. Two: I do stick you, I come up, no points, no resurrection, you bleed out, I say profanities as my controller flies across the room. (A bug I come across) Three: I am right above you about 0m away from your corpse. The option to revive does not appear. I then get to play the "hot, cold" game as I stupidly spin around in movement circles trying to find the correctly location for your dead corpse. Based on my experience, I have a 50% chance to revive you. Bonus round: During Three, Two happens. And then I get run over by a LAV.
Beastlina wrote:I have even seen people say here on forums that they have the mindset that everyone outside their squad is garbage and they don't expect anything from them. Yet these are the same people who complain that they lost because of idiot blue's. If your not going give them any credit for a win then you can't give them ALL the credit for every loss. Partly justified, partly guilty. The "idiot" blues I think of are the ones that came from other games thinking they can take on heavies, tanks, and what-have-you, with just a basic combat suit. However experience and skills, both inherent and game-given, all tell me this blueberry is going to get crushed if he doesn't stay with the group.
However, I have been guilty of blaming loses completely on blueberries, and have been rectifying that the best I can. When we lose, I look at how we could do better. When we win, I compliment not just my squad, but my team. Even our blues.
Beastlina wrote:All i'm saying is that if you want blue to give a damn you have to give a damn too. Maybe revive or cover them every once in a while. Agreed and well said. Another thing I do is point new players to the "Learning Coalition" channel in order to point blueberries toward a "blueberry help channel" if you will. So instead of chastising blues, I'm doing my best to educate them so they can become experienced soldiers, both friendly and rival.

The guys you are describing I consider to be blueberries as well. A logi that sit there repping a sentinel that is taking no damage is probably someone that is so bad at the game that their squadmates told them to follow them and do that. Much like a lot of corps will tell new players to get proto equipment to essentially feed them all while tax farming them.
It's a predatory system anyways, the good players are wise enough to know we need the team. The bad players are just ego boosting off their high sp counts and using it in pubs to feel like they are a good player. Its just how it is. Once you understand this you will understand why we have 4k players even though I see new guys every day. |

I hate to be the goodie 2 shoes about this, and I know this response isn't popular. But I treat the blueberries as my equals. As a logi it is your duty to rep any blueberry heavy that my need armor, pick up the scrubs, and provide ammo to the needy. unless there is another vehucle being called on my head, all the blue berries gete my seats. If everyone took the 2 cents to realize that you're not supposed to win. never ever should you want to win. you should want your team to win.

GREAT TOPIC for posting. I know, it seems so obvious a situation, but it's still great to revisit and debate it more.
Beastlina, I like your POV and opinion. But the population is a LOT more varied than you might think, and their reasons are worthy of some understanding too.
Please go easy on us:
Many of us are advanced players who, in addition to learning and progressing for ourselves, spent a LOT of time and frustration shopping for our Squads (you really DO have to SHOP). Some of these Squads are composed of players who it took a long time to locate, schedule with and rely on in order to erase the months of frustration trying to excel in the matches on one's own. Taking on a novice or focusing on helping one, when he/she may only unintentionally slow you or cause another squad member to mouth on you for "stopping to help a noob" is going to be RARE. I, Celest Aungm, would stop for you, or cover you, or support you any time... but the ironic revelation is that I'm not much a Squad-er, and the dozens of players like myself are the ones who WILL tend to support Newberrys, maybe because we AREN'T dedicated to squading so much and don't have so much to lose by reaching out to you. But to hope for reliable help from Squads in the match,... Beastlina, don't hope. Lots of them do care, but... it's hard to help and teach, AND still win the next objective.. It's just too hard.
Other squads are formed of even more militaristic mindsets---they are vets who settled in from other FPS games, and they take pride in being Delta-Force biased against "inadequate" players. "Inadequate" means even players like me, who may be good at playing the game, but are too-mellow-too-charitable-too-casual to be part of their serious gameplay. This kind of mindset comes in squad-version or lone wolf-version, it's quite appropriate for the racial/ lore and war-mongering of the New Eden player environment, and is VERY useful for annihilating the enemy in Dust matches. But I just stay out of their way, and I try not to look to them to help me out of any jams. If they won't stop to help an advanced player, they surely won't stop to assist a novice---and they don't want EITHER of us trying to hitch up with them. Those guys are a HeartAttack (...glad to have them only when they're on MY side).
What you have left on the map are the charitable but the very weak (other novice players who get sqoushed every time they try to help revive others or walk as your wingman and eventually unknowingly shoot at someone who responds by killing you both), the very unaware (novices who man our turrets, shoot at the MCC, and don't realize how HARD the return trip is to restock your ammo), and of course the players like myself, who are enthusiastic about the challenge of helping ANY novices we come across (we've built our fortunes, the pressure's off, and we're now just having fun in the game).
We're logi, and artificers, so we're good at spotting you Newberrys. As you can tell in some of the above posts, we WANT to help you guys out. But (no insult to Newberrys) it IS very hard to do. There's a vehicle loss-cost and gear-cost attached to it, that we can somewhat absorb with our wealth, but not repeatedly every match. I look down on some disasterous battles from my DS now and then, and I say, I want to go down and rescue some of those players over there, but this is my last extra vehicle for the night--I'm all out... and they likely won't climb in, now that I'm trying to pick them up.
I know that sounds condescending and cruel... I don't mean to sound mean. The game was meant to be played with lots of MIC work and constant talk to direct and alert and assist each other. That just didn't catch on with a lot of players, and there's no easy way to reliably help needy Newberrys without voice-communications, once the fighting starts.
I wrote a lot here that Vets and Newberrys may disgree with.
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...

On the rare chance I carry the needle with me, I stab everyone I possibly can if there's not a hail of gunfire, because we all know what happens when you get stabbed with the needle under fire.
I don't really care about KDR or wins/losses or anything else. I just want to have a good time and I dig at the end when its like 48/13 3000+ war points because I lay remote explosives on raspberries or vehicle or turrets, spray and pray with the Duvolle and stab every single body I see on the ground lol
Its fun to be in a squad all by yourself and drop an orbital bombardment....get war points as fast as you can and bide your time. Its particular useful when you're killed, see the raspberries in a gaggle on the screen and come back in the MCC, pull up the strike and drop it. They move of course....50/50 chance they're still there but you can judge how they're wiggling when you go back in lol
You win some, you lose some. Its just a game. Who gives a sh!t....if we were getting paid, sure...then I'd be a merciless prick and cheat you all to death to get a fat stack lol dolla bills, b!tches.
But since I'm not getting paid and its just a silly game....who gives a damn!? Help your blueberries or whoever else is there...rep 'em, stab 'em and get cozy with 'em in the frying pan that is Tanks 514 |

I watched your ds crash into the ground after i used a missile install on you, very funny tk on my part then watched you in a match against me fly next to my teams blaster install and die. Your the blueberry that makes wonder why i am playing dust and not something else

You have inspired me.
I'm going to recruit newbs and tax them 80% for the miserable state that they make matches.
Nah I'm joking.
I'm going to start recruiting and training newbs in understanding dust so they can make the right decisions. I'll then refer them to corps that would suit them. They'll have the choice to stay or go.
Nothing like dust uni, but more like a crash course kind of thing.
I don't know how they'll handle the corp name. The right ones won't care I guess and I plan on keeping it this way until level 6 etc.

When my squad gets 2000+ WP each and we can't take the objective from a whole team of reds... I think I'm allowed to blame the blueberries.
That or I take an entire objective myself, hack it, 4-5 blueberries are there guarding it, then all of a sudden the objective was taken... what the hell happened?
This is nearly every match...

I don't revive blues because they often die in the open and in front of a heavy or something. I'd like to help, but the ones worth helping are few. Most are stupid, I will not risk my suit to reward their stupidity, they will never learn. somebody probable said the same thing about you once...

Well that one is easy. Just like you came and took the objective from the enemy redberries yourself, someone on the enemy team came and took it from your blueberries by themselves. If blue dots could defend better the enemy's blue dots would probably have not let you take the point by yourself either. |

Most are stupid, I will not risk my suit to reward their stupidity, they will never learn. somebody probable said the same thing about you once... When I started I was in a starter fit medic being as useful as possible to my team. I'd stay behind the front line and rep people back up, drop ammo during fire fights and pick people back up. I died a lot of course, but I was training to become a dropship pilot, and was on the ground to grind isk to get back up in the air. A lot of times I found myself tethered to a heavy praying my std reps were enough to keep him alive and fight the three guys trying to kill us. I'm sure some people thought that about me, but I learned what was working and what clearly was a stupid move. I learned to work with a squad and work as a team and how to turn the tide of battle. I learned that cover is awesome and important and learned when its a good idea to NOT run out in an open field. I learned when it was worth reviving someone and when it would just get him or both of us killed.
I learned how to survive in new eden, making mistakes and unlearning COD tactics is part of this universe. You have to die, and learn from each death. I will help blueberries that understand this and try their best to be useful, but I'm not going to go with them if they make a huge tactical mistake, that's their lesson to learn, one I probably learned back in beta. If I don't let them make mistakes they will never survive in this universe.

I knew the answer -_-...
My real question is how is it so bad to where it's this consistent...
Is everyone a blueberry?!
I must be sour... I don't like my fellow blueberries too much.
