I too, rapidly tired of the last thread. Hopefully this one stays on the rails.
That said, sorry MIna, but I find myself in the "FW titles should be accessible to a greater percentage of the playerbase" camp. (the less belligerent arm of it.)
You may think of it as dumbing it down or catering to the lowest common denominator or the like, but I simply don't see a lot of people getting excited and jumping on board FW for titles they don't understand and tbh are not likely to invest the time into doing so. Maybe that's what some people want, for it to be somewhat elitist (I'm not saying you do personally). I don't really think that should be the case, myself.
That's my contrarian argument: While these are well thought out titles, they are (perhaps unfortunately) incomprehensible to the majority of players and most likely won't add to their experience or increase interest in FW in the manner you hope it will.
I think that appropriately themed ranks/titles, like those proposed by Kagehoshi or True, but which are also more accessible, will accomplish the goals of both rewarding loyal players and giving extra incentive for those not currently invested in a particular fashion to do so.
I invite your counter-argument to that. Beyond a variation on "it's too dull or pedestrian", what is the major flaw you see in using more accessible or military-themed language?

Oh, and to the OP... there really is not much utility in having a thread in which we just post lists and count the likes. The "forum discussion impacting game development" model works better as an exchange of ideas and lively debate than as a popularity contest. Stifling constructive discussion won't accomplish your stated aims.

Idk, Mina, we are probably going to have to agree to disagree. I stand by my statement that they should really be more accessible, and certainly more martial and less mythical. Personally I see your titles as a little incongruous with an infantry-based game.
(You also didn't exactly answer my question, but whatever. Not answering it is an indirect answer, if that makes sense.)

Not that important, don't worry about it. I like to play devils advocate, and was more interested in a contrarian argument. I wanted you to give an argument against the other, more conventional proposals, not so much one supporting yours.

Well, it is slightly implausible, even you must realize that.
