I believe that tankers catch so much hate because of the way the mechanic is abused. The fact that tanks ever existed in Ambush and still exist in Ambush OMS is ludicrous in my opinion because look at the word ambush;

Being spawn camped by a tank is not fun for anyone except the tanker that goes 70/0. Its a crime that, that is even possible. It takes zero effort past the time crunch to train up all the prototype gear for the tank, to kill someone with a tank. You could argue it takes skill to do so, but take a look at the turrets. One shot, dead. I see it non-stop. All day every day.
Being an infantry man in this game actually requires some degree of skill and you take risk when you're up close and personal. Lets say you turn a corner and its you vs a gaggle of raspberries that are smiling at you, you open fire with your weapon and you might get none of them, you might get all of them but likely you're going to die and you can take 1-2 of them with you.
Even the tankers have to get out of their tanks to hack objectives...but that's fine. Domination and Skirmish are great modes for tanks....it makes perfect sense to use tanks in that mode, although they are still overpowered. So players acting like babies, the fact that they try to drop 8 tanks on the battlefield and just the overall baby mentality of the people who play this game is why tankers get so much crap.
Redline sniping, manipulating the mechanics to put a tank high up on a building where it can snipe everyone on the battlefield....the zero ramifications factor of the tanks is why they get so much crap. Its not a "get gud" situation or any of the other ignorant phrases these "elitist" crybabies use....its just poor sportsmanship and something to be ashamed of.
FOR ALL YOU TL;DR's
1. Tanks don't belong in Ambush
2. Tankers get crap because they act like babies
3. You should be ashamed of poor sportsmanship |
