Here's how it's going to go down, you sign up to fight the alien horde, I put you in-game, we all get to see what kind of gruesome death you die. It'll be fun, I swear. I'll be reporting on a monthly basis (in game month, not real world month) ending each entry with the report from the council. Also, I'll include class, skills, aim and will of any survivors. So sign up today and I'll start the game tomorrow (the 17th) and should have a report sometime between 8pm and 11pm GMT. DETAILS! Difficulty: Impossible. Ironman: Check. Second Wave options. New Economy. (Council member funding is randomised) Not Created Equally. (Rookie stats are randomised) Hidden Potential. (Stats increase randomly upon promotion) Absolutely Critical. (A flanking shot guarantees a critical hit, sounds good, but it works both ways) Marathon. (Lengthens the time it takes to complete the game, I'm actually unsure of this one, thoughts?) Aiming Angles. (Receive bonus to aim depending how close to flanking you are, again, works both ways) Training Roulette. (The skill trees are mostly random) Mind hates Matter. (Psionic Soldiers cannot receive Genemods, Modded soldiers can never have "The Gift") The Greater Good. ("The Gift" can only be learned by interrogating psionic aliens) So let's have at it, post your desired name and nickname (if you survive) below. And I'd rather they at least sound like real names, I'd rather no put someone like "Yolo Mc Swaggenstein" in the game. Also, I have no control over Race. (Twice a month, not the other one) I chose South America as my headquarters for the questionably racist bonus "We have ways" (Instant autopsy and interrogation) Month 1, Part A. Operation Crystal Hero Argentina The squad deployed for this mission was as follows: Jaceon Jenkins, Appia Vibbia, Arkena Wyrnspire, That Guy. (He didn't last long enough for me to give him a name) This was a fairly open and shut mission. Two turns after leaving the Skyranger, That Guy gets shot by 3 Sectopods, only 1 hits. He survives 3 plasma globs to the face, but panicked and stuck his head down behind cover. Jaceon flanked and killed one, Appia kept back a gunned another down, while Arkena rushed the third. I gave That Guy time to get his head straight. He advances and gets insta blapped by a sectopod. Two others critcally wound Appia and graze Arkena. Jaceon throws a grenade at the group of 3, killing them all and ending the mission. Promotions all round, Jaceon becomes a Heavy, Arkena an Assault, and Appia a sniper. App is sent to the infirmary for the months and Ark for a week. Operation Demon Gift Cologne, Germany. One week after. The Squad is: Jaceon Jenkins, Arkena Wyrnspire, Matthias Abbot, Benjamin Kingsley. They stormed it. And by they I mean Jace and Arkena. And by it I mean the building full of aliens. Matt and Ben didn't see any action. Having said that, no promotions for the other two. There's not much to say, they burst through the doors, gunned 2 down, Jace shoots a rocket which kills 3 and Ark mops up the last. Operation Rotting Vanguard Dallas, USA. This was a council mission to rescue a VIP. The squad: Jaceon Jenkins, Matthias Abbot, Benjamin Kingsley, LIast Orwell. This was the mission I learned that Jace couldn't hit the broad side of an alien face. Because he failed, repeatedly. At least he has his steely determination! Ben and LIast take point and the squad advances towards the ruined bridge. Upon hearing a pigeon coo, LIast loses it and cowers behind a wall. Ben continues ahead and encounters the aliens. He takes one down, Jace and Matt move up and each take shots. Jace fails to connect, while Matt insta kills an alien after his bullets magically phase through both a car and ground. The aliens retaliate, and fail. Ben jumps down, makes contact with the VIP and takes down another alien. LIast keeps his cool long enough to take a fairly impressive shot. The VIP and Ben make it back up to the squad and they fall back to the ranger. As they do, Thin Men descend from above, casing LIast to lose it again. Matt moves to take a shot but gets gunned down before he does. Still alive, though in a critical condition. Ben and Jace take of them and escort the VIP back. Mission success, no deaths. Promotions all round. Jace advances to Corporal, Ben becomes an Assault, LIast a Support and Matt a Heavy. (I'll have to double check those last two.) Only one loss in total, not bad. You had the force field thing, but didn't get a chance to use it. Mama Bear got put down in one turn by the Sectopods' primary attacks (2 shots from one, one shot from the other which went on to tear a big chunk out of Ghost in the Paladin MEC armor), and when I had you run in with your 4 medpaks to save Mama Bear (who was down but in 'critical condition' rather than dead, they both tagged you with their opportunity attack, the second one critically... no saving throw ) Jaceon Pale-eye. Soon to be the deadliest prick in OSG. Unless Mal says no :(

Shortly after where I left off last time a UFO shows up. I send out an interceptors and it splashes it fairly easily. Operation Final Apollo. Brazil. The squad deployed is as follows: Jaceon Jenkins, LIast Orwell, Benjamin Kingsley, Washington "Founder" Jefferson. So they touched down in what was on the map as the middle of the amazon jungle, but turned out to be what resembled a North American barnyard. The squad moves towards a small shed housing two Sectoids.The first is killed by a reaction shot from LIast. Both Jace and Founder take a shot at the second which took cover behind a Meld cannister, both miss. Showing them up, Ben rushes past both of them and places a shotgun round squarely in the Sectoid's head. After this, the whole squad moves across a field to approach the UFO, slowly. The reach the craft at the end of a turn. Unfortunately, Founder had revealed an Outsider and was unable to respond. The Outsider ran into cover beside the door and shot, bringing Founder down to 1hp. Orwell was the only one within range. Knowing that if he took a shot he'd likely scare himself from the noise as well as hit a poor innocent bird about 60 degrees to the left of the space craft, I opted for a rocket. Direct hit, outsider neutralised. All that was left unexplored was the barn itself, so the squad headed over to it. They surround the building, Jace opens a door two 2 Sectoids, he shoots one, misses. LIast takes a shot and manages to hit for once. Not only that, but he killed it. Ben rushes in and takes down the other. Mission success, no deaths, 2 meld canisters, no promotions, Founder heads to the hospital. Operation Blinding Rain. Novgorod, Russia. The Squad deployed was: Jaceon Jenkins, LIast Orwell, Benjamin Kingsley, Nicola Hopkins. The squad touched down and entered a Caf+¬, where they were surprised by two groups of two Sectoids on either side. Luckily, they just moved to cover without attacking. Ben and Jace took the right side while LIast and Nicola took the left. Ben sprinted to cover and killed one, Jace followed up with a barrage to kill the second. On the other side, LIast chucks a grenade to kill a third sectoid while Nicola moves to flank and kill the fourth. On the next turn a Sectoid comes out from behind a truck with another behind mind merging with it. Ben flanks and kills it while Jace launches a rocket to kill the remaining two sectoids. (Turns out there was another beside the guy who was mindmerging) Mission success, no deaths, 2 meld canisters, promotions all round. I am part shovel, part man, full scout, and a little bit special.
