Are you talking when randoms are leaving you towards your red line or pushing forward towards the enemy red line? If the former its for what everyone said, they probably saw bad juju coming on the TACNET and knew it was a fool's errand with the current garrison. If they were running towards the enemy red line, it was probably just your typical oblivious blueberry being oblivious. |

Heavies are so powerful now I feel it is hardly worth guarding a hacker when you're in a light or medium suit. If a heavy spawns, your rifle is only going to get you killed. Better to assist the hack so there's less of a window for a heavy to come in. |

I am always conflicted running a heavy and seeing a scout hack. If I'm helping you hack it's bc I know I can't save you from the hell storm I just killed that's about to respawn on the point.

I don't hack a hot objective unless I got two others to help. Other wise I just stand to the side and take to random reds that come around the corner.
If you hack the whole team comes running. If you sit there the randomly come in, usually slow enough to pick them off one by one. Ateast untold you **** enough of them off for them gather up their friends and overwhelm you.

Yes, this IS funny. Not your complaint, Tentronic! Your issue is felt by many of us... It's just reading through the list of responses here. Tentronic, you accidentally started the most enjoyable thread to read on a Friday.
If Benny and Hal are running toward the Hack target in the environment that CCP had originally envisioned for Dust: While Benny starts hacking, Hal would NOT try to earn 25 WP for helping with hack (Hal needs to be the one to watch out for reds). And Hal would use MIC to tell Benny "keep hacking, I hold them off" OR "Crap, Benny forget it--here comes heavies--we gotta scram"
Since MICs are an issue not worth discussing these days, when Benny and Hal are running to the hack: While Benny starts hacking, the moment hears small arms fire over his shoulder coming from just one weapon (any weapon), he should stop hacking, and assume Hal is no longer with you (...and honestly never really WAS with you), and Benny should try to wave his "diplomatic immunity" card in the air, or Benny should just run and hope to hack that target later.
I used to love getting WP for hacking---Hack EVERY thing I could find unprotected by the reds.
Now I just let the person I'm running beside do the hack, while I do my best to cover him (cover also means hacking the CRU that's right near him, and nuetralizing any red uplinks at his feet). If he gets killed before he gets the hack done, it'll be cause I ran out to intercept the approaching heavies, and let them enjoy killing ME to buy the hacker more time to finish. It's just a game, so why not be Medal of Honor brave? It feels fmor fun to die in the game by charging four heavies, than to die shot in the back running.--it's a game!
Saddest of all truths, the best hacking is usually when we go on our own, and know when to hack-n-stick-around, know when to hack CRU nearby before hacking the Null itself, and when to just hack-n-get-outta there fast.
It's really a bummer to admit it, but half the time in this game it's better if Benny tell Hal "look, stay here and mind the MCC---you're only bringing me grief tagging along with me during these hacks---I'm better off doing this alone"
.... sorry, Hal.

Tentronic, you accidentally started the most enjoyable thread to read on a Friday. And Hal would use MIC to tell Benny "keep hacking, I'll hold them off" OR "Crap, Benny forget it--too many heavies--we gotta scram!" Since MICs are an issue not worth discussing these days, when Benny and Hal are running to the hack: While Benny starts hacking, the moment Benny hears small arms fire over his shoulder coming from a solitary weapon (not back and forth weapons), he should stop hacking, and assume Hal is no longer with you (...and honestly never really WAS with you). Benny should try to wave his "diplomatic immunity" card at the enemy while retreating for his life... maybe try to sneak back at that target later. But as far as covering for just a null hack with no cru or uplinks nearby, if I'm in my heavy, I shall be your bullet shield random blueberry, and shall do my best to take out the incoming team of proto heavies until we both die lol

It's been more than three years for some players on this battleground, and the old concepts are still true: If you can get three or more players together who:
--have the same in-game objective (like win-by-hacking-all nulls, or win-by-going-after-squading-reds, etc)
--each has a prefered skill she's good at (damn good DS operator, or dedicated speed-hacker, strong HMGer, etc)
...and join them up as a squad, that squad rocks nearly every match they enter during that day.
I'll be running a search for both your character names next time I play Dust. Your responses alone tell me that I want to squad with YOU guys!
