Scouts realize people have noticed they are better assaults than the assaults are. Assaults get buffed. Eyes turn to the scouts suspiciously over their oddly high efficacy.
Scouts panic. "NO NO NOT ME! THE HEAVY IS THE OP ONE LOOK AT HIM!"
All of the recent heavy nerf thread origins? Yup. Scout players.
Meanwhile assaults are all quietly dusting off their proto assault suits eyeballing the fatties: "I am going to kick your tubby ass when charlie drops..."
Hilarious, huh? |

Heavies didn't get nerfed... All these crying about Clacks, bad scouts and cry babies just got themselves into more trouble...
I have a Cal/Gal scout, Amar Assault/Sentinel, Calmando... I'll surely enjoy Hotfix Charlie lol
I've been advocating buffs to assault suits for a long time. |

C'mon now. You can't seriously think they aren't a little too powerful these days.
Sure.
Shut up unless you're going to provide mathematical proof that things are OP.
The only way for reps to outstrip any weapon is to have five logis repping at once. In which case... Well, that's what we do in EVE, too. And that only works for some of the weapons. |

Amarr with 4 reps will be eating non sentiniels. Constant 40reps.. you know what it is? If they catch you at open, you just hide behind cover and youre full. CQC will be even funnier. Ill see blueberrys trying toshoot down that sentiniel and he will full rep meanwhile.
Assault rifle: about 550 DPS... 40 Reps/second... Winner... Assault Rifle.
Never mind the gallente and amarr assaults will be able to fit four or five reps each. 50 HP repped/sec. |

An assault rifle with 550 DPS against armour? When did this happen? It doesn't even get that much against shields unless it's a proficiencied/damage modded Duvolle.
even at it's shittiest it does significantly more than 40 DPS |

Bluntly Most of the discussions on balance with sentinels are pointless until we see what they do in game, same for assaults.
Scouts can die in a fire for all I care, they're a nonfactor in my daily life, both in and out of game.
I like discussions though. Especially discussions fuelled by protests and outrage. |

Heavies needed a CPU/PG nerf because my ADV Heavy can fit full proto. HMG needs to be a DPS machine at ~20m. Needs worse falloff damage to encourage closing the distance rather than spraying and praying. Higher Heat Buildup encourages firing in bursts rather than just holding down the trigger. This is all this scout has ever thought about the Heavies/HMG/Assault situation. Tell me I'm wrong.
close... distance? Please tell me you're joking. A heavy... closing... distance without getting the drop or baiting them into CQC?
Most suits can back up shooting faster than I can go forward. You are... hilarious, my friend. |

being able to do damage at 50m is not unreasonable. much past 30-35 duelling an AR/CR/RR tends to not go well unless it's a scout with it's paper-thin tank (I have zero sympathy for your plight) or the assault/logi is already damaged or not paying attention.
More to the point, if Heavies were utterly neutered past 20m (Which seems to be what everyone wants) I'd just swap back to my old habits of forge sniping back in the early days of uprising when proto HMGs couldn't compete with sidearms even. Doesn't take much to get back into THAT. Old reflexes come back quick. |

Reasoning?
I hear a lot of "they need nerfing" but if I recall heavies have the largest hitbox, are the slowest moving, have the shortest range for anti-infantry that isn't purely sidearm or a shotgun, all of which combine into "easiest suits to put bullets into trivially" hence the huge HP buffer.
gun choices for heavies... Close quarters combat...
or slow, long range tank cracker. Nothing in between. no mid range weapons, nothing. Just two extremes. |

Plasma rifles aren't that much longer ranged than HMGs. At the longest ranges a plasma rifle can do damage, the HMG does only a bit worse. What do you think of light weapon heavies?
unless commando, I never use them with one exception. That one exception is my sniper fit I use to remove redline and tower snipers with a covenant sniper rifle.
Past that I can't see the point. |

CPU/PG nerf doesn't fuss me. Just means I can't protofit my advanced suits and I have to actually put points into fitting optimization.
Boohoo.
I'm crushed that I might actually need to use the skills for the purpose intended. I'll even pour one of my precious tear collection vials onto my face to show sincerity if I must. |
