I got a lot of really good feed back from my last fitting thread and I came up with something a little better I think. Let me know what you think? If it's crap, let me know what I should change. |

I'm a little curious as to why you use the current assault fittings. All of them are about to get really shaken up soon, so why not discuss the Charlie fittings?
Anyway, if that's for 'patrolling' I don't think it's fast enough. By patrolling, though, what do you mean? A mobile unit going between objectives, or just wandering around in the general vicinity of an objective?
I think your fit is too slow. You're using short ranged weaponry, but you have nothing to help you get in range. I highly recommend a kincat in place of the enhanced plates. Depending on your playstyle and if you can actually fit kincats, you might consider a second complex rep instead of those enhanced plates. You can get the fitting resources required by downgrading one of the damage mods to an enhanced one, for a minimal difference in damage.
Also, basic locus grenades aren't very good. I recommend a flux, if you must use a standard grenade. The ion pistol is also... Not very good. SMG is better.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Kincats will most definietly help a Gallente suit. What good is a CQC fighter if it can't close the distance?
Perhaps you are under the idea that all armor tankers are slow?
This is not true.
In terms of how a typical person would fit their ship in EVE the fastest to slowest Race.
Minmatar Gallente Caldari Amarr.
Do not be confused by the ignorant plebs on the forums that assume all shield tankers must be fast.
In terms of tanking Caldari is the Amarr of shields but you must remember shield values are usually less than armor values.
I will say though that Caldari could probably use some more shielding on their suits built in at the expense of Recharge and speed. I'd love to see shields as a reliable measure of tanking.
But more importantly I'd just love to melt away more shields.

Most of the time people are not that far from another in a fight nor is sprinting around 1 m/s faster going to get you a kill
Need I go on? And this is gallente, and in a competitive environment there really is no point, you need the hp and regen, nor will your sprinting save you, I've used scouts so it doesn't work alot.
Btw, shields need to draw more power so engines don't allow you to go faster, dust is different.

Once you have a baseline level of tank, you can make do with that and use utility modules like kincats. Of course, that's assuming you're actually capable of surviving without stacking as much HP as you possibly can. I imagine your inability to do that is where the confusion stems from.
Being able to move faster is hugely useful, especially when using short-ranged weaponry.
Quote: Need I go on? And this is gallente, and in a competitive environment there really is no point, you need the hp and regen, nor will your sprinting save you, I've used scouts so it doesn't work alot.
Speaking of 'competitive environments', have you ever actually used a Galassault in PC? Kirk has. Much more than you, if you've done it at all.
Quote: Btw, shields need to draw more power so engines don't allow you to go faster, dust is different.
No... Shields have never slowed anyone down either in DUST or in EVE.

I disagree. You're on the EHP > ALL bandwagon and it's flat WRONG
1. They cut in tank or regen
And they allow you the edge to escape TO regen, or to drop onto an enemy from an unexpected angle to flank while your slow buddies distract.
2. Most of the time people are not that far from another in a fight nor is sprinting around 1 m/s faster going to get you a kill
It can give you the edge you need to get the hell out and recover/reload/rearm/repair. I utilize biotics on my minmatar fatsuits just for that reason, to catch a breather. And it works. then when they've been re-engaged by allies... HMG IN THE BACK! |

Enjoy your suit not suited for combat (see what I did there?)
In a combat situation 1v1 say behind cover or just 1v1, sprinting slightly faster isn't going to help you, nor has any opponent gotten an edge on me or fled.
I can have 700 armor and 20 hp/s repair, kincats are viable around adv level on scouts, that I know for aure.
Oh and I can do all the things you listed without a single biotic mod, simply because I don't stack 4 armor plates.

Gal Assault? Nah. that's brawly. One biotic won't hurt the fit, might enhance it for the edge they need to get into AR range with Calassault and Amarrsault. Their real strength will be the ability to armor tank while rocking the Damage mod crack. |

This guy is actually saying what should be used in a competitive environment?? I've been in more PC matches than this scrub has been in Pubs.
JRleo jr is actually the perfect example of a blueberry.
Let's observe his traits shall we?
-Assumes he knows more than anywho in the thread even though multiple people are telling him the opposite:
-Only knows one method of playstyle which is Ehp tanking: This shows that he is unable to stay alive by his own skill so he relies on tons of health to make up for his incompetence.
-Assumes he is more competitive than anyone in the thread
- Used a scout suit (Major red flag right there when coupled with the rest of what he's saying as you can tell he has no gun game so he chased FoTM and couldn't even make that work)
- This blueberry combats my shield statement with a false statement to make him look like he's right. Here we have a prime example of a blueberry talking out of his ass when he doesn't know anything.
This guy claims he has 700 armor and 20 hp/s but if you have that much with no biotics you will not have a decent speed. This guy's perception of speed must be severly low because this guys running at around 6.5 m/s and even less if he doesn't have biotic skills to level 5
As we can see JRleo jr has made all the requirements to be called a true noob. Wish him crangulations next time you see him in the re-spawn menu.

Wish him congratulations next time you see him in the re-spawn menu. Aww, how flattering. I'm a closed beta vet. I wasted sp on biotics 5. I have all armor and shield skills map Know how to use cover. Used a min scout in 1.5 and 1.6 And hp or reps is very beneficial especially against the hmg, cr, or the burst dps of the scr. Oh and I was using ar or for armor.
If I wanted slightly more speed I would have gone with shields, which I have.

To clear equipment. The flux is unrivalled for that important task.

Even though I'm partial to the flux that's a matter of opinion.
Even though he is right, the Basic Locus is bad but at least you can kill with it.
The beauty of the flux is that it is great in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing. The flux Grenades wave can travel through solid objects which gives you the leg up in hitting an an enemy in a hard to reach spot and as long as the flux even remotely touches you your shields are gone. Which is not the same with a basic locus which has a small radius and falloff.
But still that's a matter of preference and playstyle I guess.

Maybe part of the reason is because I use shields, so I have no armor slowing me down.

No no young man, you have it all wrong. You see... I am goading HIM!
It's easy enough when someone gets mad because SOMEONE IS BEING WRONG ON THE INTERNET!
Even when wrong is a pure matter of both preference, and opinion. But I posted a fit. It has the cardiac regulator because if you're patrolling/hunting you want to be able to move fast at a good clip. Being able to sprint for the better part of a minute and recovering your stamina fully in under ten seconds is a godsend. You'll even outrun a few poorly fit scouts who are bricktanking just because you'll beat them on stamina. |

And in my shield suit I never ran out of stamiba when running away, maybe it's because armor takes longer to regen and is slower, haven't used one in awhile.

I see the 700 armor and the 330 shields for a grand total of 1031 eHP. Not bad also coming in at 20.75 hp/s on armor meaning it takes you from 0 to full about 34 seconds. Not bad. BUT there are problems I have seen after noticing your Duvolle could not fit.
Maximize your Core upgrades to 5 (core, engineering, and electronics). Otherwise you cannot fit a basic nanohive. Speaking of which why the wykromi nanos? What would you do when you do not have a sidearm, your AR is depleted of ammunition, and your nano's only repair you but does not give out ammo? So here is the same fit you had but with my skills put on your suit. You will notice you have a lot more room to play with.
So focusing on adding in more room. Maximize your AR fitting optimization to at least 3 or 4. 5 if you really want to max it. Now your AR doesn't cost as much PG. As a gallente your focus is armor tanking and regeneration to a certain point 80% of that focus on regeneration. I did not mess with your low slots but your high slots needed something. You do not need the recharger, gallente already have mediocre shielding so the charge doesn't help. I put a complex light dmg mod to help out the AR but had to drop 1 complex shield extender and put and enhanced extender in place. I also managed to put on an advance SMG and a flux grenade (grenades are your choice). As far as the nano's go, I put a K17-D instead. You will repair first before getting ammo but at full health you still get ammo. Here is the fit.
Now say you were all in for a complete change. Here is your fit completely changed.
You low slots contains 2 complex reactive plates, 1 complex armor plate, 1 complex repair module, and an enhanced kin cat. High slots are still the same from the second fit. Your weapon slots are still the same but the nano dumbed down to a compact nano. But you have 624 Armor and 321 shield with an armor repair rate at 17.38 hp/s meaning it takes about 36 seconds, 2 seconds longer that the original fit. Sprint speed is at 7.42m/s and the movement speed still around 5 m/s.
I don't know but it is up to you on this one.
Darkness is a Beginning, you see, not an end.

That's pretty close to what I'm using atm actually. Consider upgrading the nanohive though. I think you might just about have enough resources for a K-2. If not, downgrade the complex damage mod to an enhanced one. That'll give you the fitting room you need and only cost you 1% damage.
