Everytime I go to deliver ammo to the front line in a 200k suit. Someone always jacks my ride. We have been complaining for over a year. This needs fixed NOW! Either lock the vehicles to squads or include the 15 second lock everytime we get out of vehicle. I wont be running anymore ammo till this is fixed. There will be team killing now in retaliation. |

And remove friendly vehicle damage. I hate when trollish tankers run over my LAV on purpose when it drops at the beginning of a match.

I would like the option but I wouldn't want it to be forced. Every now and again I run into a decent blueberry gunner or shock trooper and restore some faith in dropship pilots.

The locking mechanics that we have now are annoying enough, especially since they apply to PC and such, where collaboration between squads is common. I've often wanted to give people a ride in my LAV, but been unwilling to wait the 15 seconds to let them in. I'd rather have locking removed than have it increased, personally.
The real solution, is to find more effective controls in general for vehicle entering and exiting, as well as for them to be context aware. I can see pubs having a locking feature of some level, but it needs to be able to be shut off. I don't think FacWar or PC should have a locking feature at all, but they do.
Ideally, the real solution is to enable friendly fire. :) Friendly fire has a way of allowing problems of blue griefing to be self-solved.
Vehicle locking quirks are a good topic to see what can be hotfixed though, keep generating feedback on it.

Over two year old problem which REALLY NEEDS FIXING. Caps on purpose there. Thank you for the delivery lock fix, yes that did indeed help with the right person getting onto a ride.
But not having proper vehicle lock makes it impossible for, I quote here, the "hated cowardly HAV-hiding tankers" to ever leave their vehicles. WITHOUT VEHICLE LOCKS THE TANK DRIVERS HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO FOR THE TEAM THAN KILLSTOMP.
That means: - no hacking points - no uplink for team - no nanohives for friendlies - no forging infantry murdering assault dropships - no hmging red infantry
This topic selected as it relatively recent and was the most appropriate with decent thread name.
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change

But its not a risk...or at least shouldn't be in my case. I am still inhabiting the HAV, and using the extra turrets I chose to use my PG and CPU to fit. As I am firing my smaller turret primarily at infantry ( usually parked up maybe 50m above another squad assaulting something) I am trying to help them, but cannot use my minimap to watch out for my allies.
Either I should be able to reside in the drivers seat and switch out my Large Turret capacity for a small turrets capacity like a secondary weapon or use a co-axial small turret (penalised by the slow tracking of the main turret).

1) leaving a vehicle unintended in the middle of a warzone is just asking for it to be taken 2) Why do you need to bring ammo for the infantry, your role is to drive, not support 3) Team Killing is not a solution to your problem, you are just using it as an excuse to troll the blueberries
a more elegant solution is to have 3 separate locks, one for the driver seat, one for the side guns, and one for the passenger slots. that way you can make it so that only you are allowed to fly, only you squad is allowed to gun, and anybody can take up the other slots.

Remember those parts in Band of Brothers where they drive up in a Jeep with massive crates of ammo...... kinda like that I guess.

The main reason I don't EVER fit a small turret to my tank is because I cant control who jumps into my vehicle. On maps where ground vehicles cant rearm without calling in a new vehicle because of inaccessible supply depots I would expect a blueberry to remain in my tank/steal while I jumped out to recall it so its not an option. Also I jump out of my tank with drop uplinks to help the team but I have to be careful to make sure no blueberries are near me as I have had my tank stolen more than once.

Dude, tell me about it. I'm sure CCP has the stats on who are the full time tankers and you've just brought up the issue about not being able to choose which position the small turret goes which is an annoyance to every tanker. Why don't they just ask whats needs fixed? While were at it how about the option of being able to remove the turrets on the faction/Aurum tanks? I wanna run round with a cool cammo tank, id even consider playing caldari FW if I thought the LP tanks were any use to me, but because I cant remove turrets I don't bother.

I would happily accept the risk if the stealing person would have to have skills to actually pilot the said vehicle (and it's fittings).

I do too more often than not I'd rather not waste the extra 102K ISK on my frontal turret that no one uses, or wants to use, as I would prefer to simply have the option to press a button and effectively enter use of a co-axial turret.
More over I would love the option to early even a place holder for the Amarr HAV in Amarr FW..... but that aint happening despite my requests for racial vehicle parity for the better part of 10 months.

No matter how many rants, complaints, feedback threads, suggestions or cries were made, no useful changes will truly happen. Devs and community alike, if we were all at least semi-competent in improving this game, there wouldn't be scouts. The guns wouldn't still be high precision no recoil super weapons that usually kill people in a 3 seconds and down as a time average The way you strafe wouldn't kill you, but save you. Everyone's strafe wouldn't be a 30 mph left and right side step. We wouldn't be sprinting at the speed that's far less than humans move, yet strafe faster far faster than humans do, and a standing commando would not have an advantage over a moving player medium suit and down. There wouldn't be a kill assist registering glitch that has existed for more than a month There wouldn't be the superiority hierarchy prototype gear followed There wouldn't be invincible sentinels There wouldn't be the issue of suits being vacant of armour regen that stunts or survivability/increases dependence on modules. There wouldn't be all of this if sci fi gamedevs tried to properly apply warfare in an FPS and their community decided what would really work and tested it.
It's reality being the average nuisance it always was.

It really does suck when the drive off with no clue how to use any of the modules or properly drive the vehicle.
Last Weekend's Amarr FW Sync had a very entertaining commentary from me as I narrated my experiences and death at the hands of a Tank Thief as I gunned for him.......
