okay enough already, you've had your fun dev's, return the game balance back to normal. OP scouts have turned 50 long time players away from dust that I personally know of, and what's with the screwed up hit detection on scout ck.o's. You dump an entire clip into them and nothing happens. reduce their pg/cpu, get rid of the 2cnd equipment slot, and for god sakes don't make them more powerful than an assault suit face to face. You've make scouts into assault suits and left every other fit hanging out to dry. |

It won't be changing all that much. The only thing keeping the Gal Scout from being the most OP suit in the history of FPS was the Cal Scout.
I guess the Amarr Scout will work okay, but a frisbee RE toss should make the detection a moot point.
And yes, there is hyperbole and a touch of exaggeration in my post. I just don't look forward to all SGers.

By "balance back to normal", do you mean when there were a total of 15 people in the game who consistently played as scouts, where everyone else ran slayer logi's with perm scan?
That wasn't balanced, it was a crutch for bad players.
Now that scouts are killing people, noobs are complaining. Get better, please.

For whatever its worth, old-school Scouts have been lobbying Rattati to fix the "assault lite" problem. We expect to see fewer Scouts in Charlie and fewer still in Delta.
Edit: We've yet to isolate the cause of the CalScout's hit detection issues. This likely won't get fixed 'til later.

About Caldari scout. Gallente beat it in every way.
While Caldari is left with 300-500ehp, gallente have more hp,more speed and is permamently unscanable.
Side Note. ScR users on enemy team = caladris dont have chance to play. Just sayin.

Gallente scouts suffer movement penalties that make it so if you do stack armor plates you can't get the full benefit of passive E-war. Stacking of anything beyond having an e-war fit normally only works if you're trying to be a "lite assault," this being the case means it is better as a "lite assault," than a caldari scout. And dampening in general is a smaller advantage to scouts than being able to see 87% of the team...
The Caldari's scouts bonus still works well with adding some stacking to their racial tank.
The Caldari scout does not have to worry about the regen rate/ timer because it will still always get its shielding back in less than a few seconds no matter how much shielding it tanks. Whereas a gallente scout must wait at least a minute for its armor to completely return if it relies only on its passive regeneration.
Not to mention the Caldari's weird hitbox...
A Gallente scout can be killed with anything because its tank is armor based and only like 5 weapons give a shield damage bonus.
I would say that their both on about equal terms, probably...

I love F***** with scouts. I sometimes run a Gal Commando and I equip it with a AR or CR for CQC but I have a surprise for the scouts. When they pop up I pull out my own SG and with racial bonus I make them regret jumping this commando.
Can the other voices in other peoples minds hear my voices in my head????

Right - - an unscannable suit with almost a minute of near invisibility, a gun that can one-hit kill every non-Heavy suit in the game (a gun moreover designed to destroy shields) is on equal footing with a suit that it sees at all times and is running 200 shield, 80 armor, no damps, no shield-regen mods, no hacking mods, no armor mods, and no speed mods in order to make that other suit pick only two (rather than four) of these same mods.
Anyway, I cannot wait until a week or so into Charlie when all those who say Cal scout is OP, Gal scout deserves to be invisible with 2 slots to spare (in fact, after Charlie, in most cases 3) - - especially those who skill into the supposedly new and improved assault suits - - get ganked every other second by invisible SGs running around them in circles.
Then the Gal Scout and SG will be nerfed so badly that they, like Cal scout in Charlie, will become useless. At that point, I'm sure everyone will be happy when they're dying from bullets 70+ meters away.

Ya that 2nd equipment slot has got to go.
Scouts have more module slots than heavy suits.... How is that even possible? Where are they fitting all this crap.
AHAAA I know, they must have nanite clusters instead of nut sacks.
Also, active scanners need a dB buff in order for players with non-360 perma scans to be competitive against the most used suits at the moment.
On top of that, remove the directional arrows on the radar so they can't see every which way you are facing at any given moment.

Even Gallente Scouts, since no one uses dampners anymore.
I would, however, like to see scanners fixed. The current scans agent "snapshots" as promised. You can still twirl a bit. In fact, you're going to have to to get the amount of scan angles it advertises. Fix this, and scanners will be fine.
Although, the only buff I'd say they need is the cooldown period. I think CCP went a little overboard with those.
As for scouts being removed of their second equipment, that's "Meh". I use 0 on my Minmatar and on my G-1 I use Proxies and REs. |

The Cal has better scans because you're not going to be able to scan a properly dampened scout (best Gal gets is 22dB, Cal gets down to 21dB with just 1 dampener), so being able to scan med and above farther is an advantage over precision.
The advantage of the Gal over the Cal is that it's more variable. With the Cal, you're kind of a one-trick-pony whereas the Gal can choose to focus on one of the above attributes and do well with it.
And about the ScR, well, nobody can be perfect :) |

This ^ Gallente scouts can dampen but what's dampening do? It just removes you from radar, it doesn't make you're own scanning abilities any better, so when you have a dampened scout and a precision scout it's like they're chasing tails. Neither knows where the others are. Meanwhile the caldari scout is scanning the amarr and minmatar scouts though....

Yes, because Gallente scouts are the ONLY suit that use shotguns. Honestly after Hotfix charlie shotguns are gonna work best on assaults because the suit will be faster, and more flexible to fit. If I used my assault to stack Complex Ferroscales and Kin kats it would beat any scout suit because Assaults will have more eHP so they'll survive shotgun blasts more...
Also, in hotfix Charlie, Caldari Scouts WILL be the best scout. For the following reasons:
1.Caldari scouts will have the EXACT same dampening bonus that Gallente Scouts have.
2. Their racial tank will allow them to stack Shields without worrying about speed, or regen.
3. Their radius coupled together with their amount of high slots will allow squads to be able to see almost every enemy within a very large radius.
Sure gal scouts might able to stack more hp than caldari scout, but when you're against any assault in a "lite assault" gallente dropsuit, chances are you'll lose miserably after the update hits, as it should be...

It's crazy that people can't see something so obvious that is coming. Don't think all the vets bitching about passive scans don't know exactly what's coming.

Please provide ONE Pre-Charlie example where this is the case. Also, please provide one post-Charlie example where it is.
In the game I play, the Gal Scout needs to sacrifice absolutely nothing to be better at dampening than the Cal, have more ehp, be at least equal in speed.
The only thing the Pre-Charlie Cal Scout truly does better than the Pre-Charlie Gal Scout is scan. But this is offset by the fact that such scans are meaningless in relation to any semi-intelligent Gal Scout fit.
The Post-Charlie Cal Scout will have better scan range but equal precision (and that equality is based on whether or not the Cal Scout user chooses to exhaust all high slots).
Also, let's not forget that the Gal Scout has enough low slots to match the Cal Scouts max range.
Naturally, all these facts mean that the Cal Scout is OP. |

Edit: We've yet to isolate the cause of the CalScout's hit detection issues. This likely won't get fixed 'til later. i understand long time scout players and there craft no one wants to see that nerfed or there role taken from them. its the bum players who find a OP suit and turn it into a slayer suit these people will be lost if all suits and guns were on a even plan.

CCP already announced they are buffing the Assault. Scouts as they are , are staying so you can tell the REST of the people that you know that so that they can leave too.
its funny how medframes (that have been the dominant force since forever) have so little tolerance to being UP.
I play as a scout mainly.Since Chromosome. Now i have Gal scout proto, CAl scout Lv 3 and Amar scout lv 3. I play as a AV Amarr Sentinel, Min Sentinel with HMG and Amarr assault.
And STILL, if i run around with my Cal Assault BPO ''Covenant'' with a basic Rail Rifle, a Toxin SMG and around 570 EHP and i still DO great.15-1 , 20-3 , 25-4 , 13-3 , 40-7... Those were the last games i played yesterday with this fit. And my gun game is nothing much to look at...
so why is it that everybody is QQ so much? SPECIALLY AFTER CCP announced they re buffing you guys to almost HEAVY level EHP so you stop QQing...
The best Damage mod is a HEADSHOT....

Caldari only have better regen. Thats all. And you get me wrong earlier. Eqiup 2damps,1kincat with 1compx plate. You got armor to survive SG shoot and 8,6m/s speed. Add 200shields for that also.
Post charlie, scouts without SG/NK will be wrecked. By assaults of course.
PS. Armor profile guns destroys shields like its armor.

That's all he says, what if my gallente scout could have 4 complex armor plate and have them all return after a few seconds of going into cover/ using a cloak, it's not "only better regen."

And yes, there is hyperbole and a touch of exaggeration in my post. I just don't look forward to all SGers. You got the Gal and Cal scout mixed up there. I'd like to think it, "goes both ways..." Right - - an unscannable suit with almost a minute of near invisibility, a gun that can one-hit kill every non-Heavy suit in the game (a gun moreover designed to destroy shields) is on equal footing with a suit that it sees at all times and is running 200 shield, 80 armor, no damps, no shield-regen mods, no hacking mods, no armor mods, and no speed mods in order to make that other suit pick only two (rather than four) of these same mods. Anyway, I cannot wait until a week or so into Charlie when all those who say Cal scout is OP, Gal scout deserves to be invisible with 2 slots to spare (in fact, after Charlie, in most cases 3) - - especially those who skill into the supposedly new and improved assault suits - - get ganked every other second by invisible SGs running around them in circles. Then the Gal Scout and SG will be nerfed so badly that they, like Cal scout in Charlie, will become useless. At that point, I'm sure everyone will be happy when they're dying from bullets 70+ meters away. The circle of (Dust 514's) life. You do know the SG works for all suits right? And if the ACR hasn't been changed, I doubt the SG with its 4m optimal will be touched.
So using 2 lows to hide from suit is OP but being able to see EVERYTHING is not? You honestly don't think it's beneficial at all? And to provide said scans for a whole squad?
Ok, yeah sure.
Nothing bias here. Gal gets nerfed and everybody is fine with it, Cal gets balanced and everybody has a melt down.
