*sigh*
Rail Rifle scrub.
Seriously though, I have seen my fair share of good DUST matches on youtube and they always consist of matches in which no one shoots at them.
I think you stood in one place for 5 minutes without anyone firing a shot at you. I shut it off half way through.
I guess those are the matches someone would put on youtube.
Congrats though.
Wisdom is what you gain after you need it.

I watched halfway through. You are literally camping a spawnpoint at first. Then when you start shooting the little enclave where the redberries spawn your ENTIRE team is spawncamping their uplink there. A single grenade in there means the end of the uplink and you are free to claim the point and win the match...
This type of play saddens me. It doesn't make you a good player, it just means you are good at shooting people that have spawned very recently and are trying to establish themselves with their surroundings. |

This. It's not your RR that's scrubby. It's your tactic against noobs.. *enter slow clap here* Because of people like you I'm ALWAYS the one who hacks a camped CRU or destroys the camped link. |

Thank you saxonmish i was not on that game but just played dust today. Your last post reminded me why I started to play Dust514 .... but ahwell was fun :P
I would love to fight against the big names and cool characters Dust514 had when open beta started. I remember you kicking our ass so many time that... it was fun and we never stopped playing against top guys.
Today i saw Shotty GoBang play and instantly remember those old days. Crorat1 with his squad logilavin around and running over people. Lhughes shooting everything to pieces. Evolution-7 flying over me and and forcing me to think what suit I am wearing next... C Saunders with his tech guard giving a great battle.. Qrt300 killing my droplinks and my buddies next to them.. TheD1CK nova knifing me on my redline... Renolissa shooting me down while dropping from the mcc. Zymonx spawnkilling me instantly.. Dice17 for allways shooting back. Judge Rhadamanthus splatting my corp mate because he shot him on the ground.. Rafa 3ridebros for being a nice dude. Rei Shepard for putting us down again and again and... 13ear for making my corp mates hide in the corners. f*ck yeah good times.

It's also the fault of the blueberrys that keep spawning in there... Yeah, this. There is no spawn camping in Dust. Camping implies that the person who spawned had no choice other than to spawn at that point. You always have a choice where to spawn in Dust, even if it's at your redline. If you are dumb enough to keep spawning on the same link (as they did in that vid), sucks to be you. Pick another link, or spawn in the redline with uplinks and deploy your own.
Camping a CRU or uplink is a legitimate tactic, since you can win by clone count as well as MCC timer. Learn to recognise when it's occurring, and avoid it. Objective is red, but the nearby CRU has been blue for 2-3 minutes? Spawn camp. The kill feed scrolling red, red, red, red, while there are uplinks on the field near the objective? Spawn camp.
You noob smurfs need to stop blaming vets and learn to recognize the signs, like we all learned to do back in beta. it's part of the game -- the only way to become good at Dust is to die a whole hell of a lot. Just make sure you learn something from each death.

This is exactly what is wrong with you vets that look down on new players. Some of these guys might literally be in their third game after academy or however many you do in the academy. You don't know how long they have been playing. If you are trying to hold an objective and there is only a single spawn near it while the rest is 100s of meters away, there will always be those who don't want to spawn far away. Obviously it's dangerous and you're likely to die once the enemy floods the base, but it could always be worth a shot, especially as a cloaked player. Camping a CRU or an uplink is NEVER A LEGITIMATE TACTIC if you have anything remotely similar to honour. If I was in that particular game I would have rushed in on my scout and destroyed the uplink, even if I might have died doing that. If there was no chance for me to destroy the uplink I would have moved away to a supply depot and start fortify the base with a few extra uplinks of our own or possible rep hives and such. Spawncamping only happens if you let it happen. Maybe it's just me. I will also not camp a redline. There is no challenge... if I happen upon a game where my team is redlined I will leave it, and if I am in a game where my team is redlining I will protect the objective in my heavy suit even if that means I won't be seeing anyone else all game.
You don't get good at DUST by dying a whole lot after spawning. You get good at DUST by dying in firefights that only barely go your opponent's way making you think twice about approaching the same way next time. |

Because you are addicted to video games, but not able to afford good ones?
Being on the leaderboards after the majority of players have quit is not a thing of note. That you let it go to your head is hilarious.
Watching the first part of that video made me glad I don't play dust anymore. Such a bad game, played by awful players.
Real AV doesn't stop until all the tanks are dead.

Is the spawn mechanism in Dust so confusing that you can't tell where you are going to spawn?
Does a person need to be experienced to wonder if the ONLY place in the city to spawn might be a bad idea?
If you see the kill feed going nuts but only one place to spawn outside of redline do you need to be experienced to recognize danger?
I don't believe that everybody should play Dust like they are wearing kid gloves. I don't believe that 80% of Dust are new players. I do however believe that Dust has a large sector of solo playing, lazy players who don't squad up or use uplinks tactically (plenty of redline and rooftop uplink WP whoores).
If we are going to bash on play styles let's bash on those that hurt the game for everyone. Dust has mechanics that amplify team play dramatically. They aren't that difficult to figure out.
I've gone into FW with 16 Molon players in 100% BPO/militia suits and scrambler pistols and cloned the enemy team numerous times. Not bragging there, just pointing out that playing as a team is the avenue for newer, low SP players. I'd rather them accept that this is necessary rather than listening to shitberry vets that whine about proto, spawn camping, etc.

They would be if every match would be even and challenging. There is just not much WPs to be made for supporting if 99% of the games turn into boring redline matches (skirmish/domination) or spawn farms (ambush). |

LOL at calling random people noobs. Even if you haven't played against them. To me camping links is Ambush. Dom is playing the objective, or give the other team the chance to play the objective. As for dumbass above, recognizing the game is also about recognizing the team you're facing. There were plenty of signs in the vid...

His fitting was Cal scout Cko, 3x Extenders, 1x Precision, 2x Armor, RR, and stuff.. It was on the first seconds of the video... Also scouts can prevent most scans without having anything on, Gallente is the best at this because of their skill bonus, Cal scout will be getting the bonus in Hotfix charlie at the loss of or precious precision... Also a good counter scout fit (pre Charlie) would be cal scout Ck.o 2-3x precision, 1-2x Extenders, 1x range amp, 1x Dampener, 1 cloak, 1 remote explosive, 1 grenade(of your choice) I would run this fit with an Ishukone Nova knife and Kaalokiata Bolt pistol, but better weapon choice for it would be RR and the bolt. Only armor I fit on my scouts are my basic scouts.
Thanks Louis! |

There were plenty of signs in the vid... There are a lot of problems with Dust, granted -- protostomping and matchmaking being at the top of my personal list. But neither of these reasons explain why that team got creamed. The reason they got stomped is because they played badly.
How many redberries was it that walked right by the OP (ducked behind cover, but still pretty open) who ended up shot in the back? Completely their fault.
How many redberries kept on spawning in that alcove by the pipes on the objective, who kept on getting slaughtered? How many of those redberries on the long walkway behind the objective, when the OP was RRing them from the square platform adjacent to the null cannon, bothered to even shoot back at him? The OP camped that platform for minutes on end, and not a single one of them went over to take care of him. If I was on that team, the first thing I would have done would be to sneak around behind him and put a few bullets in his head.
On that walkway, I saw logis whose only purpose in their short lives seemed to be repping their heavies, which frankly, is futile in that situation, since heavies generally don't have the right weapon or range to fend off an attack from that platform. Those logis best method of protecting their heavies at that point would have been to drop reps and start firing at the OP. But I'll bet you .02 ISK those heavies were on coms whining "rep me, rep me, I'm getting shot, whaaaaaaah!", when they should have been encouraging their logis to drop reps and provide cover fire.
You'll get no argument from me that matchmaking/protostomping is a real problem in this game, but that aside, that team lost because of bad tactics. Not one of those mercs were playing enough attention to their surroundings, which seems to be a real problem these days. The OP just hastened their demise.
Situation awareness is more valuable that a proto weapon. Every time.
