That is why you see all the tears from the poor marksman who can not shoot as well as you do hating on snipers. lol Nice job of shooting down the dropships and keeping the tanks from taking control of the map interior.
In one video you showed how a single sniper is anti-air, anti-hav, anti-lav, an a terror to heavy and light suits alike. You did all the snipers proud.
Great job of shooting everything that moved in your range and then dropping effective war barge strikes as icing on the cake.

Thanks everyone! It's not anywhere close to some of my best games, but if you're patient you'll see a few really solid shots when watching. There were definitely a few shots the Dust 514 gods certainly didn't want me to have. A few however they did permit and I was glad of it.

Are you ex military?. A lot of the guys I play airsoft with are and they prefer low cap mags and dony reload constantly when playing fps.
I also like the charge sniper as well.
Be vigilant!, for there are those that remove the teabag BEFORE adding milk!.
This is unacceptable!.

nice symbiotic, a good display of what we mean when we say a "dedicated" or "decent" sniper.
particularly liked the guy changing seat in the dropship, lol.
this is also why we deserve our places in p.c matches.. at the moment a performance like this would be nigh impossible, and it's not because we don't have skills.
hopefully this will help show that although snipers don't use the same methods, we do still have our own "gun game" |

The misconception is that all snipers redline and fear getting shot, as this video demonstrates that is not true. The op gets shot multiple times before he is finally killed, we take our chances to support our team mates.
The old saying is true even with snipers, you have to bring ass to kick ass! I get quite a few kills in games as the anti-sniper sniper, a good team would have prioritized getting the sniper that was decimating their ranks.
Snipers otten face good teams. I also carry swarms to support anti-vehicle activity and to shoot down the suicide bus pilot trying to crash into me. This video is simply outstanding and a must see for all sniper haters. Perhaps if they are fair they will gain the proper respect for the marksmen that attempt to have a significant impact on the matches they are in.

i assume you mean about the sniper rifles need buffing?
if so then i will point out that he is using a proto rifle on a proto suit in a pub dom.
this should be do-able using advanced gear during a pub dom, to fit the whole "risk,/reward" crap.
we have to use our most expensive fits all the time no other role does.
my point is that to be a Good sniper you need to be a Full tier higher.
i.e it takes full proto to bring our game to a pub, what do you suggest we take into p.c battles?
it is in p.c we have a problem.
(you can't buy thales so they are not an answer, sorry.) |

That's why I asked to see his fit, as I don't know if it was a proto fit or not.
I mainly mean that snipers are best as Cal Commando. With a few light damage mods, they will apply to both weapons and give snipers the boost they need.
I agree that adv snipers fits should be viable in pubs, but alas, I have not seen a sniper in PC for ages. The video clearly shows the second time I was OHKd with no head shot, but having to bring proto fit just to snipe effectively should not be the added risk.
Don't get me wrong, it was nice to see that he captured that match as I hadn't seen a good sniper in a while. Plus I was in it so can give feedback based on the actual footage.

What was that? An advanced scout? Your lucky this wasn't earlier in the game. I would be 1 shotting the weakest suit type.

It's not that the gun has ever not been viable...
It's that you need a dropship to get to any decent vantage point as a sniper to help your team. There is no ladders or elevators.. There are only 3 places where the ladders placed in game are actually functional to the map. well over half the ladders in this game go no where special or have any point.
Even the good sniper spots are ones players made work... Not ones CCP actually built to be played on with invisible walls all over the place..
Snipers are just a product of CCP neglecting them for almost 2 years. |

Yes, adv Amarr scout but I brick tank it a bit so it has 200 shields and 400 armor. Since it was a proto SR it's fine to ohk light frames. If it had been a adv sniper fit things would be different, which means new players can't snipe until they are sufficient level. Sad really.
Snipers shouldn't have to be all proto to be viable in pubs. Seems as though the Cal Commando is meant to be the sniper fit for its damage boost. I'm guessing any other suit would not be acceptable to snipe in.
I've wanted to make a decent counter sniper and it looks like the fit you used is something I'm gonna skill into.
Btw, I'm not against snipers at all and believe that there should be better vantage points that overlook the combat areas.

Truth more often than not is the sniper had to move much closer to get clean firing lines. Good snipers are dampened so it's harder to find them not because they are all at the redline.
If you watch the video the sniper was in motion most of the time, sitting in one spot too long will get you dead. More snipers have skills and are stealthy by nature so don't you take the easy cop out and assume we are all redline huggers.
We play the game we want to be good at, just like the hav drivers and the invisible assassins that prowl. The battlefield is a dangerous place, man up and stop hating on snipers.

not often always true.. but that map with single cap point is roofsniper heaven while some maps which are more like sniper bowls just favour Redliners with their super long zoom thales.

As I see it, the shotgun is like the sniper rifle, totally opposite, yet exactly the same.
You need a scout suit to do well with the shotgun, and the same goes with the sniper rifle, you need a commando to use the sniper rifle. |

See, that's the thing. The only time people actually complain about snipers is when they're in the red line.

Should have done the one at the beginning on Ashland, because I did amazing that game. Then again, I was using my Commando ck.0 with the Charge Sniper too

This was back when they were 10%.
But yeah, I basically only ever counter snipe. Most snipers are terribad and make for easy lolzy kills.

They changed the maps around, but there used to be this sexy line of sight I had on Skim Junction that let me shoot people from 599m away. Really strange, because at 598m you do 90/110 but at 599 you do 40/60 percent damage to shields and armor respectively.

Those were some of my greatest moments in PC back before FF14/GTA V came out and quality matches and quality players started to leave.
I would see an entire squad searching for me in a PC match just to kill me to stop me from sniping.

It lowered my reaction time for close quarters combat, tracking enemies felt weird to me. In many cases I'm sure mouse would be very helpful, in other cases it hurt me.

I am going to have to build up the Commando in stead of the G-1 and G/1 Lights that I use now. I wish I could fly to get up top where you was at. I run in, hack, drop spawn points and ammo then out to enemy territory to snipe as they try to get rides.
