I was wondering that cus im interested in investing on that build but caldari heavy/commando not getting low slot until proto levels in charlie is discouraging. So im wondering if i can make a competent sniper (i used to be snipers on FPSs) preferible if it is in a caldari suit, im opent to ideas. |

If u mean the caldari commando, that was my A plan but when they decided that it wont have a low slot until proto levels, u r pretty much dead after the 1st gunfight (even against another sniper), i like to run cheap suits ==> basic standar with complex modules or advanced with basic modules. |

if slots stay the same then Cal Logi, 5 high, 4 low, 3 equipment, just no side arm |

If you Are serious about sniping the Only worthwhile fit is the calmando I'm afraid. 2nd is the calogi and proto is the way forward with either. Logi suits are available from lp stores and allow for extra options. Calmando gets 10% extra damage and faster reload. But I'd wait til after delta , one of our current cpms literally hates all snipers. |

Not really. If you think about it the base level Commando stats are similar to an advanced level assault suit in terms of HP and movement. The only difference is agility and grace. Really, there are two work-arounds for this; packing a decent rifle and managing you high slots.
A good rifle will get you through first contact with pretty much any squad-sized force provided you fight smart. Frankly if you are in any position where you are facing down more guys than your tank and DPS can handle, you shouldn't be there anyway. Pull back to a secluded firing position and move after a couple shots to a different angle. If a scout rushes you, you're either dead anyway or you can pull out an assault rail rifle and blast him away.
Manage high slots by never having more than two damage mods on. They lose effectiveness after the second and are better left to shield energizers or extenders. If you are worried about your armor then consider packing a compact nanohive to repair yourself and replenish your rounds.
Do this and you'll be fine.

Depends on what you're going for really, straight up damage is a calmando with damage mods, or a cal logi with damage mods.
Mobility/stealth, a scout.
I prefer mobility, so I use a gal scout with biotics.

They are taking away the low slot in my calmmando adv? What for? Why would they nerf commandos? I don't want to live on this earth anymore... all I wanted was some lousy armor rep...
And here I thought Rattatai was supposed to be different but it sounds like more "nerf everything!" bullshit that CCP always does. |

I liked to carry regular nanos for more ammo though I guess now I'll have to use compacts on my adv calmmando. I'm more upset though now that I realize it that anything below adv sentinel on a caldari is going to be ****. I should of just stayed minmitar. |

If i remember correctly they wont be messing with snipers until Delta but i could be wrong. Regardless Caldari commando at this point in time is the best suit for sniping by far because of the suits racial bonuses. However there are other suits for sniping that i use. Anything will work really so long as it fits your play style. If you are a mobile sniper (never staying in one place for too long) then a scout suit with sniper and cloak might be more your style. If you are a stationary sniper that has trouble come after them then a commando with swarms, sniper and grenades might suit you. It just depends on your play style and how you intend to snipe people.
I snipe in the redline because i know it pisses you off

You could also use a caldari assault. It has more than enough pg/cpu at proto lvl to fit what you need to snipe effectively. Plus is pretty agile if you need to make a somewhat fast getaway or run around to avoid that annoying dropship chasing you down in the redline
I snipe in the redline because i know it pisses you off
