Either its just me or Militia gear is being used off the charts. Even when going up against those "Big" Corps such as Nyain Chan They don't even bother to use Proto Gear anymore, given the fact that of course they use their Proto Suits, Their militia guns do off the charts damage. I thought they could be stacking hardcore damage mods but that wouldn't make any sense, Anyone know why this is ?

Proficiencies and passive skills perhaps? At max skills Gallente Starter Fits are so so powerful...

Also, most MLT weapons are only a hair or two behind proto.
MLT ScR is the best MLT weapon IMO because it has the same overheat as the basic. Same for the LR except the LR isn't good at basic anyways

Ah, that makes sense. That has to be changed to at least a 7 HP difference for militia to Proto and basic being a 5 HP difference from Proto. That would make more sense than a mere couple of 0.01 to 0.02

The fact that people think there is this massive damage difference in using Proto type gear is hilarious.
All proto-type gear does is give you more survivability.... The skills to get the gear helps more then the actual items.
The average player in DUST these days have the aggressive nature of Turnip.. You can pressure most of the players to cower in the corner with your MLT gear and kill them in the group they huddle together to hide in.
DUST's pubs make me sad now  |

I was under the impression that proto gear gave you a massive difference in damage. Now the i know otherwise, MLT gear it is.
Sides itz not the gear that makes you, its the player. If you noticed my complaint has gone tremly down since realizatoin.
My MLT fit i run quite frequently
Standard G-1 scout, MLT shotgun, MLT SMG, MLT shield, 2 MLT damperners, 1 MLT kin, basic remotes, basic fluxes.
Total cost, 7k ISK
Total effectiveness, as long as im competent with good movement & cover seeking. Non-cloak is for pros.
If you use cloak shotgun you are a scrub.

Unless you're talking Knives (which don't have a MLT variant, and the STD are horrible, anyways), or the Flaylock which, believe it or not, COULD actually get worse if it had a MLT variant. |

Theyll never put a MLT HMG in, just like there is a blueprint for all the old weapons except the HMG and forge. I have blueprint AR,SG,sniper,SMG, Pistol.... There are blueprint and MLT ScR, LR too.

Because there is literally no reason to do so? You know what would allow people to stomp harder than full passive skilled militia suits? Full skilled proto suits against a bunch of non-passive skilled militia noobs.
Literally the only thing you would do is cause anybody who is smart to use STD and all the noobs to get their asses stomped even harder than they already do. Just leave it as it is.

its the weapon operations and profi skills they effects all versions of the weapons, even militia ones. so free suits + skills = best preformance with slighty less damage |

There is no issue with that. Vets who got high SP barely ever use militia grade gear. The lowest i go is sometimes standard but allmost never militia (except for the odd repair BPO that ive got).

If your getting killed by a named weapon then its not militia, since it's named its going to be standard and above. Most likely you are getting killed by a bpo suit. I run mostly bpo suits just because my skills are mostly maxed out and i don't need my proto gear.
Tbh i wish they would put bpo stuff back in the market for a limited time, there was a few that i missed and would love to be able get them. |

There is no militia HMG. There was a discussion about it but the devs where too affraid to implement it into the game. Cause then every twatt could go militia HMG at the get go.

Yeah cause god forbid that new players skills apply at all to the gear they use. Can't afford anymore adv or std gear, newberry? Don't worry, just use the militia variant where your measly sp won't give you any benefit.
