Something I have been asking the community since I first saw them in the open beta.

The breakdown:

Based on lore: They are Gallente
Based on combat doctrine: They are Gallente
Based on manufacturer: They are Caldari
Based on primary user: They are Minmatar

It's like a Ford truck (say the F-150, very American) being made in China and being used in Paris, France as a casual vehicle.
This is what CCP has done to the poor Nova Knives.

Knives sheathed in Plasma. It's like stabbing the tank with a plasma cannon round.

Question: logically, how are knives supposed to be able (or will be able) to blow up a tank? I mean, they are only knives, after all...

Note: I'm not talking about inflicting damage here, just asking how knives could even logically blow up a tank, how would it even be possible?

One thing that is saving you tankers is players can be brushed off vehicles just by moving. If players stuck longer to vehicles when on top of them we'd have an interesting situation on our hands.

Have you never heard of Ginsu knives? A school bus recently went off of a bridge near my house and plummeted into a river; fortunately, I had just purchased a set of Ginsu steak knives and dove in, where I promptly cut off the entire top half of the bus in under thirty seconds. Because school buses don't have seat belts, the children all floated up to the surface and were rescued. I then did battle with one of the river Merfolk (a well-known plague of the Ohio river) that was trying to steal away with the bus driver, but my knife made short work of him (and his head.) After returning to the surface, I politely declined interviews with the media and a phone call from the president (in addition to offers of fellatio from several adult film stars whose tour bus broke down while they were town) before returning home.

I then used my Ginsu knife to cut through a piece of titanium that had been left behind by the diplomatic ambassador from Cybertron to craft into a mailbox before quietly slicing a tomato that I promptly threw in the garbage, because I hate tomatoes.

How about you fix blasters so HAVs can defend against this?

I'm going to ask a dumb question here. i've seen this nova knife vs tank thing float around the threads recently. Is this a joke that came about or is there some actual literature that says this will do anything? Or is this just some curious person wanting to know if its possible?

If the very latter, I offer up a tank as sacrifice to figure it out. Let's q'sync and I'll video it :D

Logibro and Rattatai have been teasing the fact that nova knives will have their efficiency raised in a future hotfix to make them av viable. right now nova knifes have too small of an efficiency rating to do anything.

Caldari and Gallente had a shared technology background (as caldari state used to be part of the federation) it is not unusual for the two to continue making weapon systems the other can use and often the shared mixed groups between the two nations often employ the best of both worlds where possible.

Caldari's aspect over the nova knife is probably how WELL it can contain its plasma over the probable Gallente knife that would focus more on plasma generation instead. It would not surprise me if the gallente knife if ever introduced doesn't' feature a charge function.

I'm wondering why the game mechanics don't reflect this.
Caldari and Gallente equipment/class bonuses should have overlap and allow them to use each other's equipment with bonuses.

I seriously hope Legion will finally integrate gameplay and races. The current system is ******** to an extent that you could basically remove races from the game.
