Hey CCP, this issue needs to be addressed in Hotfix Charlie While I was sniping with my CHARGE SNIPER RIFLE I come across this :
http://i.imgur.com/w8vpBt6.jpg
Now, with my CHARGE SNIPER RIFLE that does about 350 Damage, which should take out any scout did not. Because this scout had over 700 armor, now a question comes to my mind. WHY ? Do you not know the definition of the scout ? Well here it is :
scout1 skout/ noun
1. A soldier or other person sent out ahead of a main force so as to gather information about the enemy's position, strength, or movements.
synonyms:lookout, outrider, advance guard, vanguard.
synonyms:talent spotter, talent scout; More an instance of gathering information, especially by reconnoitering an area.
"I returned from a lengthy scout around the area"
synonyms:reconnaissance, reconnoiter; More
2. A Boy Scout or Girl Scout.

Fit as a fiddle and strong as an ox he was. But dumb as a carnation. Took his time when speaking though, which you don't see much these days, because everyone is in a rush rush rush with their fancy cars and their mobile telephones. Well anyways, this young fella, like i was saying, he was the strongest man around those parts. Which is quite something, because it were farming country you see. Lots of strong folks out that way. Lots of mountain folk too, though they're a different type of strong. So this young fella, he was the strongest for a long way around. Near down to Cubberford, which was a good long distance by foot, though only an afternoon by steam carriage. And shorter still as the crow flys. Though we weren't crows, or steam engines for that matter, so a good long way it was. So any ways, this young fella, he said to me. 'Broker' he said, on account of that being me name. 'Broker...do you think i should ask Mary to the harvest dance?'. Well, you could have blown me over with a feather! Slow Ox Andy (we called him that on account of him being so slow, and strong), asking Mary to the dance! 'Andy' I said, on account of that being his name, 'Andy, do you mean Mary, from down Roburton way?'. He shook his head, real slow like, on account of him being so slow. 'Mary from Huttensby, pretty Mary the inn-keeps daughter.' Well, i didn't know what to say. Mary from Huttensby! Pretty Mary the inn-keeps daughter. She'd been crowndd queen of the harvest two years running! And poor Slow Ox Andy, nice enough fella, and strong as an ox, but terrible slow. Why, it almost made me want to laugh! So he tokk to this Byrock man with his shovel, and left him with a dirty great scar on his head for his trouble, all for calling him black Steve! Complete idiots. Get skill. Yur asking people why people snipe with scout gk.0s. Its for damp bonus(for hiding obviously). Why do they have 700 armor? Its for people like yu who just snipe in the redline. Stop complaining about something YUR doing and play. What a significant idiot. Btw yur definition from a dictionary doesnt really support what yur trying to say. Providing intel ahead of their companions in order to infiltrate enemy position can be done as a sniper. Just deployed first, look in scope and BOOM whoever infiltrated enemy position cuz yu can see pretty much anyone, WOW so surprisingly obvious!
Minmatar scouts arent as bad as people say it is. It just takes skill and patience to use so stop complaining and learn

The easiest way to fix Scouts right now would be to replace their light weapon slot with a sidearm slot.
This would force most scouts to then play the classe's intended role.

Modern Scout Armored Vehicles kinda put your implications of fragility to shame considering most of them are now proofed against 20mm rounds, which is bloody tough when you think about that...
Also I am vehemently against OHK weapons unless it is a headshot from a Charge Sniper Rifle, so i really hope you don't expect charge sniper rifles to OHK with body shots.

Proto SMG and ScP, still running around with 800 HP.
The only thing that's going to force them into the "intended role" is module efficacy bonuses to encourage the use of EWAR/utility mods over tank mods and a class penalty on the stacking of tank mods. Make 800 hp impossible, and they will switch to Assaults/Logis/Heavies when their tiny hitbox can no longer boast comparable hp.

I've headshotted gk.0 and ak.0 scouts with the Charge and watched them bunny hop behind cover. When the Gals come out cloaked, I can usually pop 'em in the body if they don't wait for all of the armor to regenerate. If they wait that long, I just acquire new targets because I already know the cloaked bodyshot (I'm not good enough to headshot a cloaked figure at 500m unless I get really lucky) is pointless when they finally do run out.

protection against 20mm is nothing, a single grenade can end you day. beside that, they have that kind of protection because you dont want to get shredded by cal .50 weapons at range when you get spotted by infantry or by helicopters and jets.
