Good to hear....but I am the opposite. Tanking is shallow and boring after a good 8 months of the same bullshit and lack of vehicle parity with now hope on the horizon.

Destiny while heavily casualised and lacking sand box gameplay is pretty, has a great soundtrack, is pretty, appears full constructed in a way Dust 514 never will be, and is a fine distraction....

Not to mention to PvP playerbase is garbage and I can wreck on foot...without vehicles with sublime ease.

I don't.

From what I hear, there is no Medic/Support class (instant dealbreaker for me), and the vehicles can only be killed by other vehicles or turrets, meaning no AV to play around with.

A lot of people are saying that destiny pvp does not matter. I don't understand this. In pvp, you earn currency for the shops, crucible marks and reputation. Crucible marks and reputation are the only way to unlock certain high power weapons, vehicles, gear even some armor coloring.

Also, there is a pvp mode called iron banner which enables suit advantage. This means that the stats of your suit matter. This rewards those that grind in pve and pvp to get better weapons. This is very similar to dust. It makes the pvp matches much more difficult and the fights much better.

Pvp does matter in destiny. I think to many people are judging the game by a single multiplayer match they saw or an article they read. It a really good game.

Also I have a beta code for ps3 and ps4 if someone wants to try it.

Destiny looks like another short shelf life game to me. Lots of hype, and lots of fun for the first month and then it gets old. I have zero plans to play it.

The bulk of that game is running around shooting AI, which frankly sucks. And from reviews I've seen and read, the PvP is bland. Maybe it will get better, who knows.

I'm gonna put Destiny into the category of "Games that will kill Dust" right along side GTA V, Assassin's Creed, Titan Fall, BF4, COD Ghosts, Dark Souls II and Watch Dogs.

We all know these games didn't kill Dust and neither will Destiny. Only CCP can kill Dust.

I don't plan on playing it right away either. That being said, you and I would be fools if we didn't recognize that Destiny will be a direct competitor for Dust 514. I will eventually play Destiny if it is ever released for PC, or I get a PS4, which ever comes first.

As for "fun for the first month", well you aren't wrong, a lot of games are great fun during the honeymoon phase, then taper off. What you are forgetting is that Destiny has several systems in place to encourage social play (much more than the extremely basic chat channels and corporations that Dust sports). Social play is a huge determining factor in retaining players after the initial wave.



I'm going to be straight with you; the PvP in Dust 514 is bland (few maps and game modes) too and many Dust players have begged for PvE since launch day. PvE is a pillar of the MMO and without it Dust can't stand on it's own. Even if the PvE in Destiny isn't mind blowing, they have it, we don't.



Maybe you haven't noticed, but Dust 514's population isn't exactly healthy...

The games you mentioned aren't going to decapitate Dust 514 in one mighty swing. Each game that you named took a percentage of our player base; some obviously taking more than others (see: Destiny). They aren't so much killing Dust 514, as they are bleeding it dry.

Its all hype.
doesnt mean it will not be a good game, just not all its cracked up to be.

It's just over exaggeration like The Last of Us, or GTAV.
