Honestly from the way slots are done and compared to dropsuits, what we currently have are the Amarr (2 Highs, 3 Lows) and the Minmatar (3 Highs, 2 Low). I think the idea of bringing in Type-II variants of the existing vehicles is a great idea. Type-II dropsuits were used in the Beta to replicate racial dropsuits because the art assets were not ready, and I think the same principle is applicable here.
Using HAVs as an example
Gunnlogi 3 High 2 Low (Minmatar) Gunnlogi Type-II 4 High 1 Low (Caldari) Madrugar 2 High 3 Low (Amarr) Madrugar Type-II 1 High 4 Low (Gallente)

Yet Amarr Sentinels have 2/3 and Gallente have 1/4?

*shrugs* fair enough, as long as it's consistent that's what I care about.
regardless, I think its safe to say there is a demand for a 4/1 and a 1/4 variant of HAVs, and similar variants for the other vehicles.

Pffffff its not about slot lay outs dude. I could care less about slots.
It's about damn time for racial parity. 18 months I've been playing this game, 2+ years its been in beta...... when will CCP develop the damn art assets for this core content?
Well obviously the aesthetics are a bit more important to you than they are to me in that regard, but to each his own.
I think making pseudo racial variants without any change in gameplay for those variants is shortsighted, but that's just my personal opinion. I mean if they had released all the new heavies and they had the same slots and stats as the Amarr Heavy, everyone would have said "-___- really? We waited for a reskin?"

Even as place holders they should still give the impression of being tied to a specific racial group. If updating the game for these requires a client side fix I see no reason why CCP could and should not reskin them.
Right but you make it sound like you wouldn't change the stats or slot layout and just keep them the same as the existing ones?

No we would need the alterations made to test the varied playstyles of the vehicles..... that's half the point of placeholders.
Ok then we are in agreement
