Ryme Intrinseca wrote:The rate of fire on the ScR is 705.9RPM. This is beyond human limitations and only achievable using a turbo controller or mouse macros. See video here for demonstration (credit to Boba's Fett of Dead Man's Game). Turbo makes the scrambler a 800DPS fully automatic long range rifle, an absurdly overpowered weapon. It makes a mockery of otherwise effective recent attempts to achieve a DPS/range trade-off - it has near twice the DPS and range of an AR, for instance. I suggest that you remove this exploit by bringing the ScR RoF down to humanly achievable levels. Somewhere around 500RPM would remove the turbo controller advantage without impacting non-turbo users, as they can not exceed this RoF anyway. For more discussion see here. EDIT - You'll notice from the video that turbo also seems to decrease heat build up. The player gets 18 shots off with turbo and 16 without. A lower RoF would probably deal with the heat build up issue as well as the DPS issue.
The autofire issues should NOT be tackled by limiting the hard rof.
The only way to fix: Add kick/dispersion which gets increasingly worse if repeat cycle is too low
Otherwise: A) autofire users tune the repeat cycle just to the new optimal and still have advantage B) the weapon is nerfed below uselessness.
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change

If you reduce the RoF, you'll make the weapon feel very clunky.
Yeah, no one can sustain a RoF of 700 average over time, but there are some shots where the tiny delay between button presses is actually much smaller or larger than the upper limit of 500...
Basically, sometimes you would press the button barely faster than 500 RPM and that shot wouldn't actually fire because the game doesn't allow another button press, making the gun feel like 3/4 of your button presses don't fire off a shot.
Cause that sounds like a HUGE improvement -_-

if it could sustain fire for as long as an plasma rifle then it would be op 18 shots is 1287HP, which is plenty. allot less than most rifles can do before reloading
Except they deal that damage in 1.5 seconds.
AR's require 2.5s to deal similar damage.
Don't make me remind you that ScR's also have 3700 Damage per clip (The Duvolle only hits around 2300. So "Before reloading" Isn't even true. The ScR STILL beats it in that regard). And more range.
So, you have weapon A, which has a MUCH higher DPS, more range, and huge headshot multiplier, and more damage per clip but overheats if you aren't careful.
Or you have weapon B, which has lower DPS, a sharpshooter skill to level as well, inferior range and alpha, and lower clip size, but is easier to use.
I'll tell you which one I would choose every day. There is no good reason someone with gun game would use the AR over the ScR. The only one I can think of is Point Blank CQC, but the turbo solves that. Hold the trigger for 1s, and you deal enough damage to melt in CQC.
