Basically, CCP told Dust players that were never going to get the game that they were promised on PS3. Hence, they made the announcement that they were developing Legion which basically brought about two problems:
1. In effect, this signaled Dust was living on borrowed time, and
2. They did this while promoting a project (Legion) as the replacement for Dust...but did so before Legion is an actual product.

With focus now shifting to a project that may or may not ever come to fruition, resources and talent have been diverted away from Dust and into Legion, with CCP making the decision to abandon the patch updating strategy with Dust (I don't know the details if this was entirely CCP-made or a fall-out with Sony) and instead focus on smaller tweaks that can impact the game's balance. In essence, CCP has now gone from over-promising and under-delivering to actually trying to make Dust an enjoyable game by working with what is actually in the game instead of trying to introduce more and more items/features to paper over the game's deficiencies.

So long as you're willing to simply enjoy playing a free game with friends--and not worried about what the future holds for Dust--the game has been greatly improved from where it was just two months ago.

Ive played a few times since "the day", most recently about a week ago. Still got stuck on the terrain, still got shifted from side to side out of nowhere, still had grenades that i began cooking disappear, still had weapons not switch over, guns not reload. I gave up on balance a while ago, at best small sections of Dust can be balanced at once, never the entire package. But if I still can't climb stairs, or rely on my grenade to deploy or a gun to reload, I don't see any improvment. Don't get me wrong, I put up with it for a while, but when the glorious "big picture" got thrown in the trash, the negatives suddenly and totally out weighed the positives for me.
