Short answer yes they will. but that will just be console players.
however they are hoping that eve players will also play on legion, given that they were so upset when dust was released on the console market.
they assume that those who pay for subscription to eve will spend more on legion and they need a more powerful platform for the pve and extra graphics etc.
they won't go with ps4, some say for the "home ground" benefits of the pc others that its due to differences between them and sony. there also seems to be a large underestimation of what the ps4 can handle. probably as they overestimated the ps3. |

Very good. yet you still waste time and effort writing embittered statements on the forums.
of course your right about the money, we've known this for a while. but anything being kept running will stop once the money is gone.
so you think that rattati is doing a bad job? you don't think that dust has improved through the last two hotfixes?
I could be wrong but I think you're on your own there.
I'm chasing nothing. but as I said a while ago i'll keep playing until the guys I play the game with stop.
at the end of the day this was a FREE game. not even just a game, a FREE one!
not really worth being bitter about. |

no I don't think that you were aiming it at me, I just replied.
as to people still paying, in a world where people will waste over -ú100 just on drink on a single night out, when they could throw parties for similar amounts.. or spend stupid amounts of cash on smoking, or magazines that they throw away, or any other multitude of ways they enjoy, I won't be condemning anybody for spending money on a dead end game, if they enjoy it.
can't say that personally I'm even slightly interested in legion I'm not a pc gamer either way, but if people chose to believe it will be out on the p.c that's their choice, as for ps4 versions.. ccp already said that they wouldn't even look into til they perfected the p.c version given how much improvement has happened following small hotfixes, compared to the mess being made during the uprising period, if you do believe they will perfect the p.c game you have much more faith than I do (again not specifically you.) in other words I'm kinda in agreement with you about data transfer
as for ccp rattati, people believe he's doing a good job, understandable the game has gotten better and is still improving. he has been replying to people on here which is more than can be said for rouge, et al (maybe it is a cash grab, but then all games are) doesn't really mean the overall impression of ccp has improved though.
out of curiosity.. do you still play the game? |

Best guess is that the population of players on dust will dwindle due to destiny and about 5/6 other good looking games coming out around September-October, player migration to ps4, etc
then I believe dust will close.
I expect it to carry on til then as player interest and willingness to pay for things will drive it to the last breath.
or to re-phrase... they will milk this cow dry.
ccp is a company and as such a minimal cost with any profit will only stop when it needs to. |

Everything Dies wrote:Senator Snipe wrote:Whats going on? Basically, CCP told Dust players that were never going to get the game that they were promised on PS3. Hence, they made the announcement that they were developing Legion which basically brought about two problems: 1. In effect, this signaled Dust was living on borrowed time, and 2. They did this while promoting a project (Legion) as the replacement for Dust...but did so before Legion is an actual product. With focus now shifting to a project that may or may not ever come to fruition, resources and talent have been diverted away from Dust and into Legion, with CCP making the decision to abandon the patch updating strategy with Dust (I don't know the details if this was entirely CCP-made or a fall-out with Sony) and instead focus on smaller tweaks that can impact the game's balance. In essence, CCP has now gone from over-promising and under-delivering to actually trying to make Dust an enjoyable game by working with what is actually in the game instead of trying to introduce more and more items/features to paper over the game's deficiencies. So long as you're willing to simply enjoy playing a free game with friends--and not worried about what the future holds for Dust--the game has been greatly improved from where it was just two months ago.

Ive played a few times since "the day", most recently about a week ago. Still got stuck on the terrain, still got shifted from side to side out of nowhere, still had grenades that i began cooking disappear, still had weapons not switch over, guns not reload. I gave up on balance a while ago, at best small sections of Dust can be balanced at once, never the entire package. But if I still can't climb stairs, or rely on my grenade to deploy or a gun to reload, I don't see any improvment. Don't get me wrong, I put up with it for a while, but when the glorious "big picture" got thrown in the trash, the negatives suddenly and totally out weighed the positives for me.
fair enough really, unfortunately we haven't seen much in the way of bug fixes, in theory because it'll be a case of balance it before they fix it, ...in theory...
I was around for the fanfest bs, yes it was as bad as he says people.
ccp were laying it on thick about exciting announcements for dust players at fanfest, to the point where we were all expecting a pve mode etc, people were buying sp boosters, some people even went all the way to Iceland for this exciting dust news.... please bear in mind dust is ps3 exclusive...
the exciting news during the dust 514 keynote speech was this
we are announcing legion it includes a full pve mode and increased graphics, etc. (it was dust with a pve mode included) there are no intentions to make this on the ps4, or the ps3. we are aiming at the pc players namely the guys who play eve. this will be a separate game to dust and there won't be any crossover.(at the time they had no intention to carry sp over to it.)
as for dust we will now work on balancing the game, but there will be no more new content as we will be "laser focused" on legion. (that took 40 mins of the 1hr dust keynote).
and that was it. after months of build up.
I'm just saying this to point out that I know and understand why people became bitter towards ccp, and I don't blame them.
I carried on playing whilst a lot of players that I knew biomassed there and then. I nearly stopped myself but I made the decision to stay for the guys I play alongside, and I will say that in my opinion
.ccp rattati has been doing a good job balancing the game via hotfixes so far, he listens to the players well .ccp probably won't be doing anything other than what they said, but you never know for certain . dust is probably now in a position of on the back burner, if legion doesn't get the green light or anything else goes wrong, this will be there to come back to, (possibly if this game shows more promise too, but that is not at all likely) .the game has improved recently as far as gameplay is concerned. . I will carry on playing until the guys I play with don't. and last of all, this is a free game, if you resist the temptation to spend then there is no need to.
