Again, the only difference between damage and RoF if they're the same value when it comes to DPS is how much ammo you have to expend to kill the target. It theoretically gives them a higher DPS but they're not going to be doing any more damage than Commandos.

N. 25% RoF is too strong. A RoF bonus would be good, although I dislike cutting the clip duration even further.

Agreed. This is worth a shot.
The RR does not need any more range that it already has.
I think CCP need to take note of the Amarr Assault - that does its job properly and in my opinion is a GREAT assault suit with proper bonuses that CCP should take note from. That being said, a small RoF bonus would be nice - however dont make it too powerful otherwise it will be only Assault suits everywhere.
We need to get that balance.

Rate of fire is what EVERYONE wanted when we where originally doing suits.
EVERYONE was TRYING to get away from the assault suit being this brick tanked killing machine. As it has been through the entire history oof this game.
Assault suits had tank bonuses, Logi suits had tank bonuses... Heavy suits had fitting and dmg bonuses to a gun that wasn't even in the game. Scouts bonuses... are still terrible.
We keep trying to give Assaults the ability to brick tank or have a "Tanky" setup and it will create a balance issue like it always has. Just history shows us this.
Assaults role should be the Fast Light Assault trooper... Where the commando is the Slower Heavy tanky assault trooper...
We can discuss a number here and a number there... But more then anything As a community we need to discuss: What is the ROLE of an Assault suit in DUST 514? What do we as a general community WANT from it for squad and team composition that adds to the game not copy's or does the same.. We need it to be a positive addition to the overall experience of DUST.
So what ROLE do you think an Assault Suit should fill on the battlefield? because right now every class has a clear distinction in their function except Assaults.
I Believe Assaults should be the "Light Assaults" of DUST. Fast moving, High Damage, smaller tank but slightly above a scout. With a proper indirect damage bonus like RoF or more something Racial specific. it puts them on equal footing. While the lack of being able to brick tank a 1000HP suit allows their damage potential vs survivability in a Toe to Toe confrontation to be balanced.
The Commando can be the Brick tanked "Heavy Assault" with a damage bonus.. But looses it's mobility as it's sacrifice. |

In Dust, it becomes FOTM when it becomes useful.
PG/CPU bonus is a stupid bonus to give assaults. The issue is to give assaults a bonus so that true assault players will go back to using assault suits. Right now, there is no incentive to go back to your assault suit if you have a scout suit. So, there must be a bonus that makes sense towards the class and will allow true assault players to go back to their class.
PG/CPU bonus is more worthless than a reload bonus. "Slight" buff to health isn't going to do **** especially when people choose scout suits over assault suits now with less tank. So, what are you saying or suggesting?

I still don't believe that regen bonuses will be enough to make Cal/Gal balanced. They truly need weapon support bonuses before they become a compelling option.
If anything the regeneration bonus can be the assault efficacy bonus to both Armor Reps and Rechargers if that is necessary. A reduction to rail kick and rof bonus for Gallente make more sense as weapon support bonuses. Balancing RoF bonus to 2% to make it balanced with Commandos and having 5% for the other racial bonuses to make them compelling. |

It's pretty much it... There is a Light Assault hole in the Suit choice in DUST.
And people have migrated to Scouts, Commandos and Heavies that prefer that type of gameplay in their Shooter, These are the people that run a Gal and Cal scout as a Chromosome Assault. Or run a Heavy with full time kincats and out strafe scouts. etc..
We need to provide and have a means for that hole in DUST 514's gameplay and choices. As it is right now these classes are half filling the role. and the Assault suits are generally purposeless.

- If you are near an assault gallente your armor's repair increase by 3 % by level - if you're near an assault Caldari your shield increase by 3% by level - if you're near an assault minmatar your speed increase by 3 % by level - if you're near an assault amaar your armor increase by 3 % by level
of course the bonus can be around 10 m
what about that ? like we could imagine seeing on field a minmatar and a gallente rushing faster and stronger on a point . that can be awesone !
it could make strong teamplay in the game, in different way like a nice tandem logisitc and assault. it could really boost the game in the right way !
sure it's not easy to apply and maybe too complicate ...
what do you think ? |
