this idea is an eve-side idea to increase the interaction between pilots and mercs
In eve there should be a rig type to fit onto subcapital ships that alow pilots to transport, drop, and provide off map support to mercs. the rig should add a deck similar to the warbarges preparation room that displays the district data to that big ass screen and fancy map table, the rigs and ship classes should dictate how many mercs may be on board and dropped from 12(frig) to 18(cruiser) to 24(BC) to 32(battleships), i posted this in dusts ideas section but because i really dontlikethe idea oflegion being pc exclusive, please consider ps4 if u use my idea |

i dont think it would be as useless as you make it sound, it could be used for missions, fw missions, exploration, piracy, nullsec warfare, and wormhole space, there are lots of things that can be done with this idea. if they way district mechanics work were changed it would deffinatly work, districts should be kinda like solar systems in eve, there should be transition points in the districts to move to other districts on the same planet, each planet couls have diferent transition points and and actual strategy for conquering/sieging planets could be super awesome |

having to destroy the rig dosnt seem like a big dealit would be like remodling and module slots seem way more usefule, i definatly wouldnt wan to give up any module slots to interact with and support mercs. i dont see why a rig wouldnt make a good place to put something like i have suggested, there are many diferent kinds of rigs and not everyone even fits them. |

the way im thinking about it is you need the rig to have a placeto house the mercs without taking up cargo bay space, you wouldneedth cargo hold to fit a few lavs and installations, a special type of drone drops mercs to the district and the RDV type of drone necessary to deliver vehicles, im also inclined to limit the spawns from the ship so cru's must be droped down and add to a clone count, like you only get up to 3 per merc from the ship before you run out of clones on board, and the pilot has to return to your nearest respawn station for you to reboard. it would make crus more useful or there could be anther type of rig that adds to the ship spawn counter allowing for more orbital spawns. i think rigs are the way to go with this idea rigs cannot be put offline mid flight. |

dont forget the risk involved travling around low and null security areas all of the mercs and the cargohold contents and pilot may die in just the attempt of trying to deliver the mercs and their equipment in some scenarios. a ship fitted with a merc operstions deck rig would be a fine low risk co-op mission ship in high security areas, but in the outer low security space areas it would be more suited in a small gang/large fleet. there is no reason tomakea completely new typeof ship class other than the warbarge which can act like an orca and have smaller ships dock pickup respawning mercs and few pieces of equipment and redeploy them on another side of the planet or maby in the next system or as an infiltration/sabotage beachhead force. |
