Isn't it time to take the bold step and remove these all together?
I know, I know, I would be upset (to say it mildly), if I bought a BPO under the promise of having it for life, but it's not fair. That's why I think you've got to take them out (with appropriate refunds) or reintroduce them so they are available for all.

CCP would be met with some horrific legal action if that happened.
They could probably get away with taking away BPOs sold for AUR, but items included in packs directly sold with real money are extremely problematic legally. The Templar BPOs for example sold in the Collectors Edition.
Like my ideas?

Yes, you're right. CCP can't delete BPO's because those were in packs... They can't give back x AUR for the Dragonfly scout you have paid in the Mercenary pack.... They could tell about it with Sony..................... with EVE LEGION on PC, I think it wouldn't be possible lol
Seriously, it's not possible :) |

Why remove them. Transfer them to Legion and make them proper industry items that require Industry skills of Industry EVE pilots.
Why remove BPO. Players paid real money for these items to support CCP.
That would be the last bloody straw for veterans.

BPOs have no meaningful value except as a status symbol. They don't save ISK, not really. You could die 100 times with a BPO fit and the savings from running BPO instead of militia wouldn't even come to a match's entire payout.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

actually in the EULA we all agreed to we have no say when it comes to balances changes and patches they wish to push forth or change at will.. but yes BPOs are too cost efficient. quite often iv been against a BPO player and they just throw the suits away like hell just to suicide to get a kill or 2

I'm all for this, but keep in mind that the starter fits are also BPOs. And if we remove those then what would the new players wear for me to kill them?

Without a player market, what negative impact do they have? If the player is already rich (50+ million ISK) then it's pretty irrelevant what you save; if they're poor (like me, less than 10 million ISK) then you get mild savings each match.
Seriously, what is your problem with them in DUST's current state? We don't have an area where BPO's generate money hand over fist like EVE's T2 BPO's do and we never will, so why touch them? As someone else said, veterans have paid real money for these - specifically for the BPO's that is - and it would be the proverbial straw that drove away the remaining veterans who are here and still invested in DUST. Including those who still help new berries, despite being treated like whipping boys for 3+ years. |

So... no Frontline or Medics suits either? I have multiple BPOs, the ONLY one I use on a weekly basis is my 'Syndicate' Submachine Gun
BPOs are more or less, a veteran privilege. So removing them would be punishing the people who have stuck around for over a year.

We Southern Hemisphere dudes don't have Gamestop.
EB Games never acknowledged Dust as a game.

Even if dust goes under all bpos and character info should transfer to legion since its only difference is the platform and name, we're not even sure if there will ever be a market , unless the whole thing was pre meditated to rake in the cash on dust, only to vaporize it with a fast money scheme then do the same to legion, either way my loyalty has lost interest.

A militia suit does not cost anywhere remotely near 30k. I just fitted one and without BPOs it came to 3k.
A saving of 3k is hardly valuable.
