Hello. I recently decided to spend what skill points I had been saving on getting all the racial rifles to at least Proficiency I.
For the longest time, I've been using the GEK-38 as my main with a Core Flaylock as a sidearm. Now that I have all the rifles unlocked, I wanted to get your opinions on the Assault variants of each weapon.
How does an SL-4 ARR compare to a GEK? What about the BK-42 ACR and CRD-9 AScR? Are there any places where each rifle excels over another? What would be an "all-around" rifle to use for close and far engagements, and which would best complement my Flaylock?
Any help is much appreciated. |

CRD-9 melts shield chumps out to decent ranges of about 50 metres and really does a number of heavy suits.

Assault Combat Rifle for flexibility. It has good optimal for range but high fire rate for CQC. Just bring a nanohive, it devours ammo.
Like my ideas?

Ok here is the lowdown, in each version I am comparing to the Gallante Assault.
Minmatar: 23 less DPS, 4m more range, Best damage profile (+10 Armour -5 Shield) Amarr: 22 less DPS, ~20m more range, Shield Profile ( -20 Armour +20 Shield) Caldari ~20 less DPS, 45m more range, Hybrid Profile (+10 Armour -10 Shield)
Tjat should just about wrap it up for you.
My suit's a bit rusty, but that could just as easily be me!

Anyway, it appears that the Gallente rifle is the hardest hitting, but lacks the most range. The Minmatar seems like the worst of the four and the Caldari has a decent balance of damage and range. I'm not too sure what I think of the Amarr. The -20 to armor seems like it'll be ineffective against most players since armor is what's most prevalent. |

You also have to consider the Min Damage profile which is arguably one of the best. Lacking any specific weakness in terms of negative modifier.

Tjat should just about wrap it up for you. Holy **** that's OP now that you put the differences out there.
DPS barely changes, range massively changes.

I'm gonna make a topic in feedback with graphs and shizzle to illustrate that point but yeah. The Assault Rail Rifle has the same range as a Breach Rail Rifle, go figure.

The Assault Scrambler Rifles are b-e-a-utiful. Don't let the damage profile keep you down, that thing can tear through armor rather efficiently; not as fast as the other rifles, of course, but.. it's just such an amazing weapon once you've played with it for awhile. I even pulled out the Carthum yesterday...
If you find an issue and I stumble upon your thread, I will do my darnedest to get the issue known.

Still, even with the improvement of the Plasma Rifle which brought me back to the game somewhat I'll still say the Combat Rifle is the best choice. That Damage Profile Compared to the DPS will eat anything and you'll have no problem chewing through enemies of any type.

This has been well known since CCP introduced the new rifles and before the (needed) AR buff and the (also needed) CR/ACR nerf the gallente variant do not even had the highest dps like now... |

The ACR was never really as powerful as people believe before the Blaster Rifle buff the ACR had 4m more range and +4 dmg DPS. -1 dmg per shot and +10m range would have brought it into line.
The projectile damage profile is unbalanced and is partly the reason why the Magsec didn't outclass the SMG as much as expected. Futhermore this profile also applies to the HMG effectively giving all 3 weapons +5% on the prescribed damages. Hopefully something Rattati will fix in Charlie
However the Combat Rifle was and still is unbalanced, a combat rifle can still achieve a much higher DPS than a blaster, by spamming the trigger at 6 times a second it is possible to turn the Burst Combat Rifle into a fully automatic weapon, that pulls out 500 DPS, over 60dmg more than the blaster.
At this rate most suits melt in less than 1.5 seconds and there is no distinction between bursts, coincidentally this caused alot of the hate be falsely placed on the ACR.
The Burst Combat Rifle still needs balancing such that it's fire rate is capped to 4 3-round bursts a second as opposed to currently achievable 6.
My suit's a bit rusty, but that could just as easily be me!

The ACR is still superior in cqc mainly becasue of the higher rof, the better damage profile and higher accuracy (who in hell gives high rof weapons high accuracy??) |
