I said tankers don't want to have to contend with an AV tactic like JLAVs because it's not something they can flee/rep from. So the occasional tank/installation, then? Cause infantry is so rare to run into, right?

You can destroy them before they reach you, drive away (as tankers so often do when facing a legitimate threat), or just move onto some bumpy terrain. If JLAVs aren't driving straight, at full speed, on flat road, they often fail. BPO LAVs are extremely rare nowadays, and even those who have them paid SOMETHING for them, once upon a time.
