+ More HP + More Damage Output + More Expensive + Higher ISK Reward and WP When Destroyed
Make them monsters who stand and fight, not hit and run. Tanks should be less common but more devastating. Losing a tank should be a massive disappointment not a minor inconvenience.
I imagine a tank being incredibly expensive and powerful. They should be fun to seek and destroy not something you have to deal with.
Maybe what I'm really looking for is a tank of a higher tier. A unit that is worth millions and captures the attention of an entire team. A true monster fight with huge rewards for those who slay the beast.

Think pre 1.6 Marauders. 3 Million ISK per tank easy..... however with the way players broke PC and passively earned billions of ISK those would only be in the hands of the uber elite and rich.

I wouldn't mind the rich spamming tanks worth millions of isk as long as the rewards for killing them were actually rewarding. |

They had tanks like this, they died to infantry with LAV's & swarms, with dropships and forges, with cover & av grenades. Being expensive, slow and capable of being overwhelmed is awful and unfun, because people will drive up to you with swarms fire a few volleys and chase you wherever you go. Every orbital will be dropped on you because you are slow. You cannot react to a changing battlefield because you are slow.
People hate the current tanks because they get away from them more than any other reason.

Remember how it took entire AV teams to bust Marauders....... the satisfaction of killing one was incredible.

We used to have this until infantry cried and cried and cried until CCP nerfed the everloving **** out of them so now we are left with what we have
