CCP I disagree with you about putting LEGION on PC and heres why. 1. The Dust 514 community consist of console gamers 2. It was a great idea to link PC gamers and console gamers in one universe. 3 The PlayStation Gamer community is much larger than the PC elitist gamer community. 4.The future of Playstation 4 is looking good on the GPD forecast. I've invested so much time into Dust 514, though I do have a bad ass gaming rig, I'm a console gamer at heart. I found Dust 514 on PlayStation Home, got my closed beta key from the Dust 514 lounge on the PS3 and never looked back. I remember before Dust 514 even hit the scene people were recruiting heavy on PlayStation Home.
Now with Next Gen technology here and my Playstation 4 set for the next wave of Next Gen gaming. I was really hoping LEGION would be developed for the PlayStation 4. My investment to Dust 514 is major and I would hate if I couldn't be part of New Eden on the PlayStation 4. CCP reconsider what your doing and fight for development of LEGION for the PlayStation 4. I believe in you guys making a badass AAA title exclusive for the PlayStation 4. If you wanna crowd fund LEGION for the Playstation 4 to make the game every hardcore Dust 514 fan wants lets do this. You guys have horrible PR.
Mercenaries in the world of New Eden are saying Dust 514 is dead but I believe different. I'm screaming make LEGION for the PlayStation 4 let us continue our war. I found Dust 514 on PS3 not PC. The coolest experience was the cross platform link between a console and a PC from both types of gamers on both platforms. You made it happen CCP. LEGION should be a PS4 title. |

PC first i understand: their engineers are used to working on PC's, so good luck to them in making legion (it seems like everything that dust should have been)
However, CCP is missing out on a HUGE market with the PS4 and really should have it on PS4 as well, (also personal bias as i can't play PC games for my life, but would love to play legion, as I'm sure many other players feel)
What all Minjas are thinking as they play...

CCP are masters of the PC ecosystem. They are most comfortable developing for PC, something they know and won't throw curveballs at them.
CCP's main playerbase (eve players) are on PC. That point along with the points I noted above is the reason Legion is coming to PC.

I'm not a console or pc gamer, I'm just a gamer.
I think ccp have learnt enough about sony with dust to decide PC is the next platform - it can be on their terms rather than sonys.
I dont want a ps4, it seems to be mediocrity incarnate; all the interesting games are on the pc, and multiplatform if youre lucky.
I've a feeling you're pissing into the wind anyway. Rather than legion being on consoles dust should've been on PC from the start.

they can talk about pipedreams all they want but people need results
i remember eating up all the pipedream talk about what dust was SUPPOSE to be and ended up with nothing like what was planned like so many other games before it with grand plans.
I suggest before ppl start mindlessly thinking Legion is gonna be great stay skeptical and wait till they actually PROVE its a good game rather than a good concept before u start eating out of their hands.
As for PS4 meh they should of announced a PS4 potential release in mind AT FANFEST. They ****** over alot of ppl not doin so. Horrible PR once again.
Also Shanghai still making it, that team is horrible unless they replaced literally everyone Legion is still being made in some way or form by alot of the DUST retards. They can blame the PS3 all they want but they cant blame the PS3 for the actual FPS part of the game suckin cuz DUST is a basic game and there are FPS games on PS3 that show what u can do gameplay wise. CCP is just bad at making a shooter.
EVE: Valkyrie looks good tho and been gettin good remarks on the actual gameplay not a concept of what they want it to be. Might look into that when i get Project Morpheus even tho i really dont wanna support Skumbag CCP after the FF shenanigans but we'll see ill need VR games for my Morpheus so who knows lol :P

Yes, their main playerbase consists of EVE players but surely they would want/need to expand that playerbase. Consoles have a much, much larger playerbase when it comes to FPS.
CCP's "best" move IMO would have been to start development of Dust/Legion for PS4 a year prior to Console release so they could have been there for launch or within 6 months after launch.

CCP Iceland is not CCP Shanghai. CCP Shanghai still has to prove they can deliver what they promised. What makes you think that Legion will be what promised, regardless of platform, after being let down and being lied to several times?
Btw, we wont see a fully released Legion version for atleast 1 year, if not 2 years, anyway.
PS: going for PC instead of PS4 is a missed opportunity but I think even a donkey realizes that. |

Look ... Warframe Was built on PC... And it was an easy port over for the Playstation 4 when it launched.
if DUST would of been built on PC first... They probably would of already done it.
CCP are tied in tight with Sony, They are launching completely new hardware to the console market in a very risky venture for Sony with Project Morpheus, and CCP is their main Game and Developer headliner for it...
That aside from DUST being one of the best selling microtransaction games in the history of the PSN store. It will be there, the biggest challenge for CCP's multi platforming future is how the different populations are going to work in New Eden.
Make no mistake this is the future for CCP, the console market. They have no choice they have two HUGE competitors breaking into EVE's market share and the only way to hold current corporate values is to diversify the portfolio. |

they'll put a 5 man development team on it for 2 years, and they'll cancel it.
why on earth would they develop a game on the unreal 3 engine, you must ask yourself.

ccp has failed dramatically in the past 8 months. be realistic about that. they had to try twice to fill their alliance tournament this year...

Legion has no place on the PS4, not until its refined an polished up a bit.
Put it on PC for a year or two, polish up the mechanics and then maybe release on PS4 when its ready. |

No way. As EVE players we already had to buy one useless console to play DUST. I would never buy a ps4 to play Legion. (Even though the PS4 is the better console out).

but I also know that CCP sucks at developing games, which is compounded by their lack of knowledge on consoles, which in turn is exacerbated by their failure to higher competent developers, because upper management doesn't want to pay the big bucks required for quality...
if legion ever does hit ps4 it will be no less than a year from when it drops on PC.... and I have my doubts that legion will ever be greenlit... |

there are games on the ps4 now that blow even legion outta the water with graphics and in game gameplay only reason im still on dust is my friends and i like the overall out of match system. if u want examples of games i can glsdly give u vids and game names.go back to ur pc and stay noone told u to get a ps3 for dust.u WANTED to

lol they are anything but masters.... they have a decent space game that fills an empty space (no pun intended) in the game world... they have had no competition for 10 years, which is about to change with star citizen... lets not forget how many problems eve has had and still has and it's taken them 10 years to get it as far as it is... which is a long time for what they have....
and I lol at you if you think eve players are going to be dedicated legion players.... 2 totally different types of games... most spreadsheets in space guys either don't like FPS games and/or don't have the chops to play them well, which will quickly end their endeavor in frustration....

CCP is best on the PC, and while the Console has the largest FPS market it is unfortunately not what they are used to. CCP also likes long-term games not making newer versions like the Battlefield series (Nothing wrong with that though), which the console is not ideal for as all consoles have a limited lifespan, where as the PC is upgradable and thus will survive a "ten year plan."

Honestly it would've been far better if Dust began on the PC and then migrated to the console. Reason is simple. The development process for the PC is much faster especially since CCP already has experience with the PC. They don't have to deal with a third party like Sony while developing a game and the update process would be much faster. Once the game is ready, it would've then be ported over to the console in a much more finished state than what you see now.
But... CCP did it the other way instead. Result: Dust to dust. To make matters worse, they released Dust too late in an aging console.

PS4 is simiar to a mid level Gaming PC rig but not 2012. Mid level Gaming Rigs in 2012 had a hard time handing Planetside 2 on Ultra settings. But the PS4 definitely cannot compete with a PC market or hardware.
That said... PS4 can run in 1080p @ 60 frames per second... Look at PS4 launch tite Killzone Shadow Fall. Also Look at PS2 coming at E3...

For one, the approval process for add ons and such from Sony is nonexistent in the PC world. The hot fixes can come quicker. The beauty and all the implementations to make Legion the game that CCP envisioned for Dust can be fully explored.

well, that's pretty bold. they developed on the unreal engine on the ps3 because it would be so easy to move onto another system, or to move to pc.

KZ2....16v16 gorgeous game, solid FPS mechanics, KZ3 12v12 (poor balance on the marksman class but otherwise solid fps minus that)

Not to be an ass, but hotfixes require no approval. They only take as much time as CCP requires... With no approval, they can also royally screw up (as CCP QA has proven to not notice jack squat of issues) just as easily... Which is then fixed with a hotfix that requires no additional time...
If you find an issue and I stumble upon your thread, I will do my darnedest to get the issue known.

I don't believe PC gamers really embrace shooters like console gamers do. Point and click with hot keys is easy compared to using DS3's which takes real skill to use on the console side. Next gen hardware from Sony I must say spec wise they got it right. I hope you remember PC gaming almost died 8 years ago, the console market almost killed it, Steam saved PC. The cool thing about PC is you do get some really good mmo/ action rpg games with tons of exploration and customization, next gen consoles technologically are pretty much on par with pc.
Everyone whose hardcore in gaming knows pc's evolves at a rapid pace which is great because console hardware will be improved to dedicate all of it's next gen hardware specs to gaming unlike pc. The mod community is the real brains behind gaming because they aren't afraid to try new things thats what I love about PC the most. One day consoles will be the God gaming machines every gamer dreams of until then I do agree PC is king of technological advancement in gaming. |
