It would be great if the tooltips made sense. That seems like the game is complete when that happens. I'd like to see more heavy weapons and vehicles but more than anything I want to see MAV, Light Aerial, and Heavy Aerial. There's a tooltip loading screen that has icons for it, but obviously they aren't in use.
In order of my opinion on things to complete the game content wise:
1. A player market or at least a sell button in assets. 2. All basic vehicle types and full racial parity with vehicles. 3. Gallente and Amarr heavy weapons 4. Weapon type racial parity*
*By this I mean having a 8 total heavy weapons (1 AV and 1 AI per race). 1 racial light weapon for rifles, av, and specialty. We have all rifles and we have all specialty (Gallente shotgun, Caldari sniper, Minmitar Mass driver, and Amarr Laser Rifle) but we are still missing some AV options. Right now we just have the Caldari SL and Gallente PLC. I'd like to see a light weapon av variant for Minmitar and Amarr as well. And lastly i'd like to see the same concept in sidearms with a smg, pistol, and specialty weapon line. We have all pistols (bolt, ion, flaylock, and scrambler) but we still need the Amarr and Gallente smg and specialty weapons. Right now the only specialty weapon is the knova knives that are Caldari in design but minmitar in utility. The nova knives and the swarm launcher both are weird weapons where they look Caldari but Minmitar suits gain bonuses to the weapons.
I'd be thrilled with any of the above options although I won't hold my breath. One thing the community needs to remember is that hotfixes that were needed long ago does not = "laser focused."
Fool me once shame on you, and fool me twice shame on me. Don't everyone get too excited that Rattatai responded, this is still CCP saying maybe... which 98% of the time means never.

Time and time again CCP does nothing but make more work for themselves by trying to balance weapons then release new weapons, having to balance everything all over again. They are constantly working against themselves. Seriously complete racial parity should have been the FIRST thing released.
It's pretty easy to understand. They ran a skeleton crew after they shoved the game out of beta last year. The reason this game was never completed was they lied to the playerbase after uprising that it was a work in progress. That's why hotfixes have been the major focus with very little content pushed out. 1.8 and a couple weapons was 1 year of development. Which spoiler, it wasn't. At least not if they were actively working on this game. That's why people were upset at fanfest. When they showed everyone Legion they showed their hand. Hey guys, remember how we told you we would be developing Dust? This is what we were actually working on... Legion! Pretty cool right?
It wasn't that CCP didn't finish this game that's their perrogative. It was the fact that they lied about it for a year which is where smart consumers stop giving money to a company that would do that. If EA can survive though, I'm sure CCP will be fine. Smart consumers isn't really a thing. |

Smart consumers isn't really a thing. While you do have a point, my argument stems much farther back than the last fanfest. This has been something going on since the inception of the game. What's worse is CCP's way of fixing broken content; remove it. It's much easier to just remove something than actually fix it. Webifier effect, prototype HAV, logistic dropships and repair modules for vehicles, the list still goes on.
I assumed it's because for CCP this genre is uncharted territory. And it would seem that they didn't hire any other game designers that have worked on fps games, at least not good ones. As far as from a game theory perspective the balance pales in comparison to the poor design. It's a lobby shooter with a rising handicap for players who create a character... they don't even have to play the game, they are simply rewarded for seniority. I've never seen this in a lobby shooter before including the Korean fps rpg games and I hope I never see this style again. The customization and isk earn vs. isk lost system were great ideas I think. CCP to me seems to be a company of dreaming but not executing.
I'm pretty sure though what I said still remains. They took out most of that stuff in the beta to rework it. But, they abandoned the game shortly after release, hence it wasn't put back into the game. This just shows how quickly they dropped the game. |
