Would adding back in the vehicles that were taken out (surya, safaris, logo vehicles, etc.) Require a client side update? Or is the data all still there, but they are simply hidden on the marketplace? An answer either way would be appreciated, I'd like to know if adding them back in is a possibility or not.

It would require a client side update as they would have to add skills to the skill tree.

Thirded.
And Yoma, not necessarily, they could just update the HAV skill to unlock them. |

I'd like to point out that if they do bring back the T II vehicles, they still need to fix them first........

I'm fairly certain they are all there, just taken off the marketplace. I still have a torque module in my assets from before 1.7. Too bad I only have 3 copies of it. Had I known I would've bought like 1000 of them before 1.7, then I'd probably have the only Gunnlogi with ridiculous acceleration!

Meh, if they are even considered being brung back, there should be a actual idea of how to fix them before even deciding if they should come back (for dust anyways). In all honesty, even though I would love them to come back, I don't think there's a need for them, or even things to balance them (Cloaks don't exist for BO and FR DS's, the reverse CRU didn't even work for the BO HAV's, The slot layouts that they had were made for old modules and such and would need adjusting, environments not being suitable for them, etc.).

No need for them? Tanking is the most poorly balanced and broken it has ever been....and worse...its boring as hell and unrewarding.

Considering the current, more slimmed down, development resources I find it vastly important that we get as much possible content and utility out the assets already generated for Dust 514.
These other vehicles should most certainly be back in the game. In point of fact restoring their presence would improve the possibility of viable Vehicle vs Infantry balance. It is much harder to balance Proto AV vs STD Vehicles, the degrees are wrong. Right now militia AV is a poor joke while MLT vehicles are are viable and useful simply because there are more degrees within the power curve of AV than of Vehicles. Push MLT AV to be viable in the current meta and the power curve makes Proto AV brokenly OP. The lack of types of vehicle also forces each one into more roles, making balance harder and requires that mods define the power curve very heavily allowing for more "MLT stacking" causing issues with the 'risk v reward' and the value of SP investments.
However with a restored vehicle field there are more 'knobs' to fiddle enabling more fine tuning and more diversity. Content, balance, and game play would all be served by including these vehicles once more (and yes, they would need a balance pass... like the entire AV vs Vehicle situation does already).

1: More variation of going pew pew at infantry and vehicles, or being a throwaway taxi.
2: That's an entirely different issue. Also, I doubt you'll see them any time soon.
