Still not very effective. The reticule completely disappears when you start firing, so you don't really know if you're hitting your target or not. |

Don't you think you should update it to say that it disappears no matter what vehicle it is on?
If you find an issue and I stumble upon your thread, I will do my darnedest to get the issue known.

Some more feedback:
The dispersion is more of a handicap than it is an aid. I could only see a dispersion of this magnitude helpful to someone who was horribly bad at aiming, as the dispersion was fine before and didnt need any changing.
Today, my gunner (bobthe843cakeman) had trouble hitting enemies literally 10m in front of us, due to the dispersion. When they turret did hit the target more than a few times, it did fair damage. We both agreed that we would prefer to use the previous version of the small blaster over the new one, simply because of the unbearable dispersion
All in all I think it was pretty counter intuitive to increase the power of the turret and the hit detection while dramatically reducing accuracy. If you were intending to buff the blaster and give it a role against infantry, you were horribly mistaken with the dispersion. I feel that dispersion should never be this horrible, unless its intended as a balance mechanic; not an ease of use mechanic.
I suggest you remove the dispersion changes ASAP (even before hotfix charlie), as the blaster is arguably even more useless as it was before.
On a different note, I hear that the large blaster got another dispersion increase, officially making it the worst turret in the game. It seems that horrible dispersion is never a good thing, unless the gun fires a wall of bullets (e.g. the HMG). |

Tossing my feedback in here, the dispersion is currently just a bit too much to actually kill things it could be 1/2 or 1/3 of its current amount and probably be just about perfect - too many shots miss currently which would be okay if there was say a 1m splash for 5-10 dmg.
Ammo consumption is a bit high and total ammo is a bit low, if you doubled the damage and halved RoF while keeping ammo capacity the same blasters would be a bit more desireable. It would also mean I can't drain my whole magazine just by holding the trigger with incubus level 3. Ammo management is a key priority for me here because while it is relatively easy for me to make supply runs in a dropship I don't need to do it near as often with a rail or missile setup... Which also means that tanks have some serious issues with small blasters as it isn't nearly as easy to resupply on them.
The improvements are good, but they're just not quite up to putting small blasters on par with rails / missiles.

I feel like the dispersion is the major problem here. Do you think it would be possible to revert the dispersion entirely, then maybe work our way forwards from there?
The dispersion on the old small blaster was perfectly fine and would go excellently with the current RoF and hit detection improvements (it may even be on par with the other turrets).

The blasters need some dispersion, just not near as much. Cut it down by at least 50%.

How about making the dispersion tighten the longer you shoot just like the HMG? That way you can sort of have more range with it.

On a different note, I hear that the large blaster got another dispersion increase, officially making it the worst turret in the game. It seems that horrible dispersion is never a good thing, unless the gun fires a wall of bullets (e.g. the HMG). I used a blaster tank for the first time in a while today and OH MY. The size of the reticule got much larger than an infantry person at 10-20 meters, not even at full heat. I had to wait all the way down to 0 heat to effectively destroy equipment not further than 20 meters.
Like you said, dispersion this much would be fine if you fired a wall of bullets, but the large blaster just simply relies more on precision than spraying a wall of bullets to be effective.
Which is why I don't understand why people cried for dispersion. It was precise before, but just because something is precise doesn't mean you don't need skill to use it. It'd be the same as saying why doesn't my rifle hit people when I'm ADS? Aiming blaster turrets required just as much aim as rifles. Not everyone had incredible accuracy, but everyone can spray and pray.

The small blaster always had a fair amount of dispersion. I just feel like they changed to many things at once with the blaster turret. |

There was enough dispersion that your shots would bounce around people at far enough ranges, like beyond 100 meters, so a fair compromise would've been just a slight increase in dispersion so they'd start bouncing around people at about 70 or 80 meters.

I can honestly say that large blaster turrets are one of the most useless weapons in the game, because of its massive dispersion. Before bravo hit, it was almost impossible to kill a forge wielding heavy w/ no cover at 40 meters, because so few shots hit. I was overheating before killing the one target I was focusing all my fire on. |

Besides everything else that is true with the new small blaster I still would like it to be better against vehicles. I can do enough damage to strip off shields entirely on an lav, but the shields never deplete. I don't mind it repping through fire, but if the shields are all the way down it should be depleted no matter what. |

My God, large blasters...
Tone it back down, and seriously, way less dispersion on small blasters. What the hell is with being unable to kill a scout suit at 15m?

Blasters will ALWAYS be bad as a front gun until we get a proper first person camera.

I did warn logibro that dispersion will be an issue and that splash would be better. Also, the crosshair should be like hmg, getting tighter as you hold fire.

Gunners with Blasters on an Incubus is actually quite reasonably effective. I'm only GADS 3, but my gunner was able to kill infantry fairly quickly and without using too much ammo. As a pilot, it was difficult to use, partly because of third person camera and the reticule disappearing, but I still netted a few kills. |
