The new circular reticle for blaster turrets vanishes when you fire for a short time with the blaster turret mounted on the front of an ADS. Incubus fit. Prototype small blaster.

Even with this negative, for the brief time you had a reticule, did the blaster seem at all viable?

I had a match in research lab skirmish today, where I had a gunner and was hovering over the alpha point (the two open silo stack things that people love to toss uplinks on). He reported that a range of less than 15 meters it was impossible to hit his target while hovering and holding still. We were in fact within range of av grenades thrown completely level and got taken out by it.
In order to be viable small blasters need to be able to hit at ~50m, tweak dispersion down to half or 1/4 of its current value and see where that gets us..

30m. I can record some footage for you if that would help. I also tried side gunning with EVO. I tried for half a match with the Blaster, half with the rail gun. 2 kills with the blaster in 5 minutes, shooting at a solid group on A - ashlands, domination map. 5 with the first magazine with the rail in 10 seconds. exact same grop of enemies, same pilot, same hover spot. Both proto guns with pilot and gunner with maximum skills in incubus
They really are too short range to use on a dropship.

can ya all remember when small blasters were ever effective? been so long. Low range and dispersion eliminates any chance that people use blasters on a dropship.
