The current skill tree/SP system seems well-designed for the long-term (> 5 year) grind. Since we now know that the plan for Dust will no longer be reached that far, I suggest you increase the active SP generation to allow players to enjoy more features of the game while we can.
Even 2-3 times more would be awesome.
I'd like to hear people's thoughts on this. |

I'd definitely support this, particularly as it would make new bros lives easier.
If another option is required, then i could also get behind a tiered system, where newbros get a higher modifier (x5 up to 10 mil SP), mid bros get a moderate modifier (x3 up to 20 mil SP), while vets go to normal our slightly higher (x1 or x2 after 20 mil).

Unfortunately...
Supply and demand, my friend. Proto doesn't grow on trees. Well... it does, but it also grows on efficiently grown chronic.

hey you liar! i didn't sneak up on you, i was following you for 5 minutes , waiting for you to hack that cru for a camp

Absolutely. Active skill point gain feels like a slog, and even playing for an hour or two a day seems to be outpaced by passive. Increasing the active gain would open up more content to current players, and would also reward them for sticking with Dust until Legion is released. |

this will not happen since legion players will be able to carry their sp over . would be nice but highly unlikely

Theres no difference between a 10mil player and 50 mil player other than variety of suits and specialization. 10x all the time.

Has that been confirmed..? I thought CCP were unsure what the skill point mechanic would be in the new game.. seems odd to allow a Dust vet to instantly be at Legion vet status in a new game with a ton of new systems. |

doing the carry over on war points would be more appropriate than skill points due to the passive gain

As a newer player I'd love to have the SP to use on things I won't otherwise get to use. If the skills won't move over then why not? Good call

Yes, to one extent or another. It may not exactly transfer skills or be a 1-to-1 conversion, but Dust players will not start out the same as new Legion players, same with money and assets (but again, we don't know exactly how things will transfer over).

I agree with this, +1. Newbies need more attention so that they may be able to compete in DUST514. Also it rewards our current players that have stuck with DUST, and the vets that have braved on through DUST since beta days. |

CCP earlier stated that SP would transfer over, which makes a lot of sense from a community relations point of view. A lot of dusters are still less than pleased about resources being shifted to PC, and giving them a leg up proportional to their time invested/veteran status should take the sting out. Plus, lore-wise, it makes sense that the original wave of mercenaries would be superior to fresh legionaires - they've died in combat and been reborn for who knows how long. Of course their experience transfers to superior skills.
That, and I don't think it will throw balance in a huge way, since the number of PC players will likely dwarf the current population of dusters. |

Pretty interesting idea. +1
My first reaction was negative but I don't really see any downside to it if it's handled correctly.
My recommendation: 1) Bump base SP gain on Active SP only up to 2x...same as running a perma-Omega Booster 2) Increase or remove the weekly SP cap

That's what I was thinking, nothing game-breaking, just speed things up a bit.

Increasing would be cool but I'm not sure if you could remove it all together.. all the kill/hack boosters in the game would go crazy haha |
