Maybe an exception for minheavies. Why is everyone saying this. Were none of you around before when scouts just ran straight past heavies and shot them in the back? Turn speed is not the way to balance. Why? because we have controller and kb/m in this game. A turn speed reduction only further increases the advantage of kb/m + scout and breaks this so called balance even worse. Some increased damage fall off would be a good start imho. This would also make the assault hmg a more viable variation as right now it really does not out distance the hmg enough to make it worth switching too. All of this. Nerf to turning speed was already tried, and it sucked, which is why CCP removed it. The HMG is in a good place right now. Maybe, if anything, a very slight reduction to effective range. That's it. Why is everybody acting lately like HMG is god-mode? It's not, by any stretch of the imagination. Did the forums just run out of things to ***** about, so now it's heavies again?
I think the answer to that last question is "Yes". People ran out of new things so they started recycling. Most likely it is the same people trying to run head first into an HMG with a 300 or 400 HP suit thinking they are going to knock it off. Then they get pissed when they get killed. So they come here and complain. I've been killed by my share of heavies, and I thought, "I hate those fat bastards." So, I figured what the hell and I specced into them. Now I hate G.D. Rail Rifles who sit on top of buildings outside of my range and shoot me all full of holes and stuff. Of course, I understand why that happens. It is called a "counter." That is the counter to heavy spam. Do I like it? No. However, I'm not going to come on here and whine/complain because they keep killing me. I adapt my game and use cover to move. I don't run across 40-50-100 meters of flat ground where I'm basically a target in a shooting gallery for them.

I just don't even know what to say.
When I play as a heavy people throw themselves at me, most of the time the morons either stand still or squat.
You cant beat a heavy one on one within his range, unless you are a decent player then its easy kill time.
I swear these new heavies are bad and anyone co plaining about them being overpowered needs to step up there game.
I will crush heavies in my logi or scout suit.
Maybe we need to give you all a lesson in killing heavies before we decide to nerf them again.
First and most important lesson in taking on a heavy
"NEVER straife him side to side!". Why? Because you cross his killing stream each time.
Solution! commit to one long circle staife if you started strafing first he will never be able to catch up. A head fake small side to side will give you an even larger lead. I can win with a gek most of the time doing this however a better gun makes it laughably easy.
So go try this and watch the heavy tears roll in.

It's Caldari Scouts providing super scanning powers to you, basically turning you into a fat scout(TM)
So turn the spot light to where it belongs, the Caldari scout.

Not really.
Shared Passive scans for the Cal Scout is actually ruining the eWAR balance.
Think of it this way: One Cal scout with 4x Precision can remove the threat of every non-Gal scout on the field.
Said scouts CANNOT flank ANY squad-mate that is within his 40-50m scan radius.
This means a single Cal Scout can lock down a city from other scouts (Mainly Minmatar and other Caldari).
Remove Shared Passive Scans, the rest will be fine.
I'm okay with a single Cal Scout hunting me.
I'm not okay with a single Cal scout allowing 5 other people to hunt me with the same capabilities. It creates an unbalance of power in the hands of the scanner. With one suit, he can force all other scouts to run damps or basically be running really fragile assault suits....

I think his stance was "let's see how the range nerf goes first" because they want to see how small changes affect Dust over time. HMG is actually fine, at best mag and heat build up need some changes. Otherwise.... well its a goddamn HMG! It should be powerful. Omfg, how many times have we been back and forth with hmg buff/ nerf, I mean I know of at least 10 diffrent changes between 1.0 and now. |
