Since we don't get paid for anything except killing infantry are you surprised that we spend a lot of time killin/trying to kill infantry? Slick maneuver because armor dropships don't take much collision damage and pythons take sever collision damage it wasn't all that slick. Now if the incubis pilot had feigned a ram then pushed his nose left and swung around over his python while firing his rail and killingbsaid python that would have been a slick maneuver. Nothing really interesting about ramming. I'm quoting this response because I want to address both of you.
I don't know what pilots you've been watching, or talking to, but I can assure you any pilot worth his salt does more than just go for kills. I could drop 20+ kills without farming a link and still come out on top three in WPs. All these scrub 1.7 pilots who only specced into it because it looked easy sicken me (not calling anyone out in particular). Being a pilot is still hell, especially if you fulfill the five roles correctly. I don't understand how you both think that we're only in it for the kills, or should be, for that matter. A true pilot finds other ways to be useful other than killing.
1) Of course we kill, that is role number one. 2) eradicating enemy equipment. 3) taking enemies off the high ground (it's one and two combined, but on high ground TBH) 4) chasing away enemy tanks (remember those blaster tanks that were harassing you on x map? you're welcome) 5) placing links and hives on the high ground for absolute control.
I can understand how less experienced pilots wouldn't know that role number 5 is actually one of our chief roles, and most important, since most of these new pilots I've seen haven't flown until 1.7 patch. But this role is still a vital role to be filled, especially with my Amarrican logi.
On a sidenote, ramming is a homo tactic, always will be.

You sir, have piqued my interest. I happen to just recently gotten lvl 5 python (really should have done this long ago, had lvl4 for longest time), if you're interested in gunning for me or vice versa, contact me, and give me a channel I can reach you.

No, and that should be fixed. To those who responded to me, I did not say piloting doesn't take a lot of skill or that pilots lack character in some way, my remark was to the OP who admittedly was just killing infantry with no resistance (which is Ok) calling others action cowardly.
My view on tactics is, if it works its valid, unless its a glitch or bug.
Because, that's why.

Yeah I recently got it to 5 myself, been putting it off for months now, that grind is brutal. I always enjoy meeting other pilots and gunners, although I'm not very good at gunning (I try my best) I'm a pretty good pilot. To your post above this one, I didn't mean to imply that pilots only go for kills. A dropships true versatility comes from its crew, nowadays I only fly with a crew of at least one gunner if not two and a hacker if possible. While we can preform multiple roles we really only get paid for kills, yes uplinks do provide some wp but that involves leaving my dropship and that's something I'm just uncomfortable with. I wish there was more of a need for rapid deployment and that we got paid for transporting more.
I do find it annoying that a lot of people speced into dropships thinking they would be easy only to ram us because they can't actually fight. Though I do find it amusing when a rookie pilot tries to fight and messes up. I encountered a pilot who started shooting at me, I gained altitude to get a better firing position on him and he made the mistake of trying to shoot at me from where he was. Pointing his nose up and dropping like a stone. When I realized he wasn't pulling out of it I pressed the matter and made him point nose up, by the time he realized that he was going to hit the ground it was too late and he bailed. He made it to the ground and I came over to him and dropped down in front of him. I didn't shoot him though because he was a rookie, but I let him know I could have killed him if I had wanted to.was a good laugh.
I'm in the channel 1st airborne although my ps3 died so I can't play when I get another ps3 I'll hit you up for sure. |

I ram other ADS with my own ADS..does that cancel it out? ADS dog fights is a nice thought but I am a support vehicle not a jet fighter..sure alot of great pilots are able to make it seem like a its a fighter but its still a support dropship with light assault capabilities. I personally hate ADS dogfights they take too long when I could be helping my greens/blue...ramming and calling in another if it goes kaboom is faster..mostly because I know I cant take them cause I am in a missle incubus most of the time not a rail incubus and I rarely have gunners to bother putting a railgun on the side turret cause no one likes gunning everyone likes pewing pewing on the ground instead.

the annoying thing is when scrubs camp the bridge in domination, spam 10 heavies and camp on 30 triage hives. now that's cowardly.
or how every single member of Nyan San camps on roofs spamming either charge shots from a SCR or a mass driver. seriously Japanese kids, why do you camp on roofs so hard? |

I had one little crutchy cloaked tard try to run up on me 5 or 6 times in a match yesterday. He couldn't hide from my ammo-less FG Heavy no matter how hard he tried. Cloak, run up behind me, get SMG'd. Cloak, drop REs, I'd throw Flux, shoot him while he waited to activate them. Cloak, run around the building, SMG his ass on the other side. This went on until I had completely used every bit of ammo I deployed with. (Then I tried running into a couple dudes while spamming the Melee button, hoping to lose.)
I'm not one to usually send mail, but you know I let that coward know about how terrible he was with that scrub tactic.

In every game I play, most people are cowards.
We are in a virtual environment where death doesn't even matter.
Its also why we can't really have nice stuff because people enjoy safety nets too much.
I truly miss when k/d didn't matter, people were crazy back then.

And there is nothing more pathetic than having to chase a guy in a fking mlt suit with 5hp left, because loosing that starter fit matters right?.
Absolutely pathetic and unfortunatley games cater to those types far too much nowadays.
You get the same pathetic types in airsoft. They worry so much about getting hit that they let everyone down and do fk all.

If it wasn't for the message, I'd ask if that was me lol I had one Caldari commando awhile ago that *Le gasp* actually checked behind him on a regular basis and even positioned himself. I tried for awhile to kill him but could never manage to sneak up on the guy because he set himself up on some pipes so there was only one way I could go to reach him. First and only time I've ever come across someone that knew how to avoid getting Novas to the back.
