I do tactical retreats in my cal assault suit if I'm being overwhelmed at a point.
Its sad that people resort to ramming rather than fighting in dropship fights. A true mark of a pilot is being able to down the enemy bird using dogfighting tactics, ramming is just ungentlemanly. Any pilot who rams is a scrub.
Also the phrase "going the whole 9 yards" came from waist gunners in b-17 flying fortresses who had 9 yards of 50 cal. Ammunition for missions. Fun fact. |

Slick maneuver because armor dropships don't take much collision damage and pythons take sever collision damage it wasn't all that slick. Now if the incubis pilot had feigned a ram then pushed his nose left and swung around over his python while firing his rail and killingbsaid python that would have been a slick maneuver.
Nothing really interesting about ramming. |

Nothing really interesting about ramming. I'm not surprised you kill infantry, I just don't think sitting in a vehicle that most can't effectively hit you in is exactly the epitome of bravery. Slick is killing your opponent in a way that surprises them, the way that happens doesn't matter. You never landed on someone to kill them? No difference. Ever flown a python? It ain't easy, the way I fly has me on edge 24/7. I also use teamwork, my gunners and I have been flying together for months, some for years which is why we are so effective at killing. There arent any blue berries that can gun like my gunners, they can't hit reds when I'm doing a low slow orbit, and they defiantly cannot hit anything when I'm doing hard g banks when fighting av (I hardly ever "just sit still"). They are also shock troopers that go in behind enemy lines so that takes some balls. Would you consider it brave to fly in to the redline to make a run on a camping redline rail tank, kill it, then make it out with one second left on the clock? Gambling my 650k dropship in the red, such a rush.
If an infantry player wants to they can pull out weapons to hurt me, even milita swarms and forge guns can be very effective. Though let me guess, that's too much work for an infantry man.
I wouldn't call crushing a red a slick maneuver, cause all your really doing is landing. There just isn't anything interesting about ramming. Its a boring tactic with boring results that makes the engagement a snorefest. Interesting fights are the ones where the pilot actually shows some skill and does throw some slick maneuvers not being lame and ramming.
I dunno, maybe I have a higher standard for slick maneuvers after flying for over a year with some of the best pilotsin this game. |

You sir, have piqued my interest. I happen to just recently gotten lvl 5 python (really should have done this long ago, had lvl4 for longest time), if you're interested in gunning for me or vice versa, contact me, and give me a channel I can reach you. Yeah I recently got it to 5 myself, been putting it off for months now, that grind is brutal. I always enjoy meeting other pilots and gunners, although I'm not very good at gunning (I try my best) I'm a pretty good pilot. To your post above this one, I didn't mean to imply that pilots only go for kills. A dropships true versatility comes from its crew, nowadays I only fly with a crew of at least one gunner if not two and a hacker if possible. While we can preform multiple roles we really only get paid for kills, yes uplinks do provide some wp but that involves leaving my dropship and that's something I'm just uncomfortable with. I wish there was more of a need for rapid deployment and that we got paid for transporting more.
I do find it annoying that a lot of people speced into dropships thinking they would be easy only to ram us because they can't actually fight. Though I do find it amusing when a rookie pilot tries to fight and messes up. I encountered a pilot who started shooting at me, I gained altitude to get a better firing position on him and he made the mistake of trying to shoot at me from where he was. Pointing his nose up and dropping like a stone. When I realized he wasn't pulling out of it I pressed the matter and made him point nose up, by the time he realized that he was going to hit the ground it was too late and he bailed. He made it to the ground and I came over to him and dropped down in front of him. I didn't shoot him though because he was a rookie, but I let him know I could have killed him if I had wanted to.was a good laugh.
I'm in the channel 1st airborne although my ps3 died so I can't play when I get another ps3 I'll hit you up for sure. |
