I hate posters who brag on the forums and to that end I will preface by saying I am an OK player who enjoys running a scout.
My two cents in response to cutting down on your deaths is be more selective in the engagements you choose. Scouts are usually paper thin and you have to be realistic in the fights you choose.
It takes some discipline to pass up a target.
I believe a scout should play to it's strengths so I like your use of eWar mods but not the RR.
RR is a longer range weapon and I prefer to use my scout's speed and stealth to sneak up when possible on a target and attack closer and from behind, insuring I get the first shot to mitigate my lack of HP.
Use the scouts strengths to dictate the terms of the fight and your deaths will go down, but this takes discipline.

OK. Thanks. The RR is good in CQC but I usually use the SCP then. The obvious choice would be a shotgun but with hit detection.... no. SCP/SMG combo I guess.

I'm wondering how in the **** you got 16 kills with a fit like that.
1. Never put a rail rifle on a scout. Doesn't need to be a shotgun, but it should be a high-alpha weapon, such as a scrambler rifle, plasma cannon, sniper rifle, or even a combat rifle. 2. If you need to strafe, you're doing it wrong- as a kill-focused (I'm assuming shocktroop) scout, you should be flanking and attacking from the rear, so that the enemy doesn't get a chance to shoot at you in the first place. 3. equipment helps, and it doesn't need to be a cloak. REs and nanohives could be a nice combo. 4. you seem to be fit for scanning, so you probably want a short-range weapon (disregard the sniper suggestion), and don't worry too much about precision enhancers. Damage mods are better.

I flank poorly, obviously cause I need to strafe far too often. I don't know about damage mods, I work better with my passives.
I agree with the replies but strafing is going to be a necessary skill to improve because try as you might the truth is you are going to find yourself in situations that didn't go the way you would like and you are going to be in a gun fight.
Scouts can strafe better than other suits so again play to this strength by learning to strafe well. Personally, I like a SMG for this purpose.
As for equipment, RE's should be a requirement for scouts. A scout when not killing should be flying around the battlefield planting RE's on Null cannons in skirmish while hacking. They are also great for taking out fatties who chase scouts around corners (again use that speed).
I prefer drop uplinks instead of nanohives. Nano's are better for a stationary player and you should be always ZOOMING. Drop uplinks get you great WP's, help the team, and fit the scouts role nicely as you move around the map dropping them.
Oh, and I wasn't saying the OP was bragging, but rather that I wasn't claiming to know everything. Just opinions from my own experiences.

No one enjoys this negative crap. Some of us enjoy the game even with it's myriad flaws.
Posts like this don't make you sound smart or edgy. You are trying to be a contrarian so you can feel superior.
In reality, it only makes you seem like a hypocrite because you are making these comments on the very game's forums that you claim to despise.
If you feel that way, why are you here trying to bring other's down? Just leave.

My advice:
Never use Armor Plates. Always Ferroscales or the Basic Reactive. Reducing your movement speed at all hinders your ability to strafe, and make it in time to that guy hacking your objective. Going anything less than maximum speed defeats one of the main purposes of a Scout.
A Gallente Scout with a Complex Shield Extender is extrememly durable and still quick to recover. 160 shield with 162+ armor backing you up is amazing. So even if it ends up as a gunfight instead of an assassination, you still have a good amount of health to see you through it.
The Scrambler Pistol/Submachine Gun combo works very well, but a Combat Rifle instead of the Submachine Gun would probably be better, I haven't tried it.
I laugh at those with Sergeant in their name.
They never spell it right.

I would swap your RR out for a aCR whenever you are fighting in a compound. The RR is good out in the open, but suffers when you are up close. As a scout, your greatest strength is the ability to dictate the terms of an engagement. If your opponent is unaware of your presence, you need to be able to take them out before they are able to threaten you. Consider your ability to reach cover before opening fire and allow your opponent to disadvantage themselves if they are inclined to do so. If a fatty is about to cross some open ground in your optimal range, let him get away from cover before opening fire. In short, first ensure victory and then do battle.

I run solo a lot and use an adv cal scout with CRW ScR most of the time.
With that combo I am a very efficient killer. I usually have lots of kills and few deaths. In fact I just set my new solo best a few days ago (43/2) with this suit and these tactics.
While my gun game and strafe ability plays a part in this, the biggest contributor is I am very smart with my engagements.
I will never ever attack a target from the front unless I have no choice.
I will always check my surroundings before attacking.
I will never stray far from cover.
I will never attack a group until I have observed them and decided who the weakest target is. I will then use hit and run tactics. Also, against a group I never stay still for long, as that gives them a chance to flank me.
I almost always avoid hmg heavies unless I have the range advantage.
I often disengage and run away from an enemy if I don't kill him fast enough. It's better to try again on your terms then to just stay there and die.
I often take uncommon routes when moving around the map.
Lastly, there are some times when I'm playing solo and the enemy team has a solid squad that is too good to attack alone. When that happens knowing where they are allows you to avoid them. There is no point throwing clones at them. Just hit other objectives. If they are sticking together, wherever they aren't will be weak and easy to attack.
Gun control is not about guns...it's about control.
The only way to ensure freedom is by having the means to defend it.

I cannot give you advice on scouts as IGÇÖm not one. I do use the scout suit but I think mine are built a little different to yours.
Why am I here? Because IGÇÖm starting to get the feeling that IGÇÖm the only lunatic running around with armour repair modsGǪ how can you live without them? Most of my suits have twoGǪ I simply hate to wait for my armour, low as it may be, to come back.
For me the Gallente armour repair bonus is a fantastic addition, not a standalone feature. Taken from the OP, youGÇÖre running around with, give or take, 250 armour. So if youGÇÖre taken down to almost nothing, it takes you over 80 seconds to repair your armour back to full. I run around with 349 armour and it takes me 18 seconds to repair it all. Though thatGÇÖs a gk.0 with two repair mods but it allows me to recover fast and engage again almost immediately.
Consider dropping one of the range amplifiers for an armour repair mod. If not, at least carry Allotek/Wiyrkomi hives.
I have never proto stomped but now that DUST 514 is dead I can do it without remorse!! 247 million ISK to go.

I'm remembering to strafe but I cant think of much else to keep me living. Greatly appreciated.
I run min scout so what I am about to tell you is vital since we are the weakest. Amarr is actually better because it has a stronger slot layout to be a balanced scout.
New fit for you:
ADV G1 ARR (higher DPS by far in comparison to the other RR and is cheaper fitting) Side arm of choice 1x complex dampener 1x Basic/enhanced Armor plate 1x basic/enhanced Kinkat OR Complex Dampener OR another Armor plate 2x basic/enhanced light damage mod No cloak: 2x compact hives (keep your armor up and ammo available) STD Flux
other tips:
1) Left to right or figure 8 movement when in a fire fight. 2) Don't shoot at anything unless you can take immediate cover. Sometimes hit detection screws you and you should have killed the guy but now you have to reload, he's at full health, and you have no cover 3) If alone, don't take on anything unless you point your weapon and read the HP it lists. Anything over about 600 you should leave alone. This keeps your kdr a lot less. 4) don't hack, always cover blueberries or someone else trying to hack unless you add a hack module. 5) If you can, don't be afraid to run with heavies and mediums as an "escort". Basically you can use them as protection and watch their 6 6) Don't enter corridors and don't peak in right through the door. Back up and look through the doorway from 30m or so back so you don't get insta beat by heavies or shotty's. 7) Always throw a flux in any place before you enter if you know they are grouped up in there. This is actually why I like the flaylock as a side arm. I can check for RE's far easier and don't waste a nade 8) If you go with 2 armor plates then know that you are slow and you should run more as an assault along side logi's and heavies. If you use the kinkat then you can move at almost 9m/s which is quite good and gives you room to get away losing fights 9) Don't use cloak unless you are proto in Gal Scout. You need the full bonus to cpu and pg for cloaks to be useful 10) You can run with an injector and hives as well if you want the extra points but I don't like being left for 3 seconds without protection. Can't trust blue berries 11) Again, I can't stress how important it is to not engage if there isn't some form of cover that you can take 12) Lose all of the ewar stuff. It's for losers. I'm serious. You don't and shouldn't need it if you r core is at 5 (which it needs to be). If you pay attention there isn't a whole lot that PE's can make up for. Just check 360 degrees relatively often and you'll see who you want/need to kill and whether someone is following you. 13) Remember that compact hives does both armor reps and ammo. But it will do your armor first before getting to ammo. You can only have one on the ground at at a time hence why I use 2.
Another fit you can use is a scout/logi fit. basically, completely brick tank out and put injector and rep tool and just run with other heavies.

Atiim nailed it. Don't get greedy and go for more than one kill. get your kill and get out. If you are going to fire any additional ammo it should be to completely terminate the clone you just killed. If you are almost out of ammo clip and are 100% sure you will have to reload to get the kill then I always get away and reload and find another target.

I have thirty different fittings (GÇ£one for every occasionGÇ¥). I am always at max fittings and need to delete them constantly to make new fittings better suited for my needs. I know some people only have a few fittings and honestly, I donGÇÖt understand them. For my scout fits I have, for example:
Fitting with an RR (for maps such as Manus Peak where range is my friend) Fitting with an AR (for maps where a lot of the enemy is shield tanked and mostly CQC) Fitting with an ACR (my go-to suit, usable on almost any map) Fitting with a shotgun (city maps, such as Gallente Research Facility)
The modules vary between the suits to compliment them. My shotgun fit has very low health but two dampeners, two precision enhancers and a cloak. It is suited for city maps where I can surprise the enemy easily, hide, escape, flank and whatnot. That suit, however, is pretty useless on Manus Peak. I know some can make it work but I cannot. On maps where I need range I pick my RR fitting that has more HP, better stamina and most importantly, range to attack from afar.
If youGÇÖre having a bad match in your scout fit, your blueberries are spinning in circles, adapt to the battle by doing something different. Spread uplinks all over the map, leave hives for your BBGÇÖs to consume, destroy enemy uplinks/hives, hack anything you can and kill stragglers. DonGÇÖt assume to find The One Fitting that suits every situation and map. And if youGÇÖre being hit from every direction, youGÇÖre in the wrong place with your scout fit.
Also, whatGÇÖs a Thunderdome map?
I have never proto stomped but now that DUST 514 is dead I can do it without remorse!! 247 million ISK to go.

Want speed, health, and re-gen ability, topped with stealth? Be a scout. Still can't muster any gungame? Chuck a Core Locus Grenade...
Can't do anything in this game? Be a tank. Can't fight other tanks? Be an ADS pilot.

1. Pubs don't matter 2. Asault suits and logi suits don't matter 3. LAVs don't matter 4. Ion, Bolt, and Sc pistols don't matter 5. What the community wants doesn't matter 6. Unless its chasing FoTM, nothing in this game matters
So true.
Dust is the only game I have played that properly shts on people with skill and a good connection.
I understand a game allowing the not so skilled to still be helpful but this game outright carries people all the way and allows scrubs to excel through crutches.
What's left is to cater to the ones who think the game is pretty cool as it is.

Just brick tank it like every other scrub so you can Rambo it.
Granted you'll make cool scout fits but when the sht hits the fan you won't have to adapt. Just slap on plates and shields with a cloak and an RR or cr.
I have a 20 mil sp scout alt and I hunt scouts, they all switch to brick tank half way through the match, no tactics or skills involved.
Just zerg spamming brick tanked scouts with cloaks.
*yawn*

I'd rather dance with you knowing I have no chance of survival then to be cradled in a game.

I run ADV g1 basic RR KLO SCP 1 basic plate 2 ADV RA 2 ADV PE
I'm remembering to strafe but I cant think of much else to keep me living. Greatly appreciated. dont get greedy, pick off stragglers/solo people, raise your precision enhance profile damp and range amp up and perhaps biotic upgrades casue a stationary scout is a dead scout, and remember..
- from behind (knives or shotguns.. or RE if its a heavy)
- slow or stationary targets
- Flank flank flank
- pick off stragglers
- remote explosives on cap points
- try to stay away form meat grinders
- Cloak Cloak Cloak (even if i hate you cloakers)
dont try to be a front line soldier thats assault/heavy/sent/commando turf.
Minmatar Logibro in training. Rusty needles anyone?
