Good job ccp on alpha...so far everything is balanced....for beta these are some of the changes I feel need to happen:
Weapons: Assualt Variants of the new pistols (if possible...but I don't think so) Flaylock buff (you know this needs to happen)
Vehicles: Rail gun tanks still seem to have to much damage Dropships die when they barely touch the mcc or even sometimes supply depots
Other: Corp battles please!!!!!!!!!!!
Thoughts?...

Other pistols meaning Bolt Pistol? Because the Ion is already supposed to be the assault variant. That's why it has a "large" RoF. |

Swarms need fixing. Dropship collision damage needs fixing. Flaylock, I don't have personal experience but widely considered to need buffing, probably similar in degree to the MD changes. Sniper rifles could use some tweaking. Proxy mines need buff and some changes. Installations could be changed and health buffed.
Those are probably the ones I want to see on the short list.
Because, that's why.

Assaults and Minjas need love.
Assaults need it first (should have been the Alpha fix IMHO).
Tanks are still OP (gamma/charlie or whatever comes after beta, unless it can be lumped in with beta).

The Proto flaylock is great, I just think they need to buff the std and adv versions splash radius slightly.
Rails need to not be able to kill infantry so easily, don't know how they could fix that.

I don't get this feeling about tanks. I mean, they're tanks. They're supposed to be hard to kill with grenades, a little less tough against forge guns and not so good against swarms (damage resistances permitting). And their weapons are meant to be AV, meaning infantry hit by it will have a future as red paint. This is the truth of tanks. I get it, and I don't even drive tanks! Not one SP spent on them! If anything, tanks need to be balanced against tanks, not against infantry. We're just the ants under their boots. |

Also fine. I use that on my gallente assault and it's been quite useful. Some scouts have had success running nothing but two ion pistols. I think the consensus (at least as far as I've gathered from forums) that the ion pistol is trash is unwarranted. I don't care if people want to tell me the scrambler pistol is better in every way, there are still many of us that enjoy using the ion pistol successfully.
Same goes with the flaylock. |

I don't play PC. Even if I did, I wouldn't judge weapons based on how effective they are in PC. I play this game to have fun. I can do much better with an AR than I can with a PLC but that doesn't mean that I think the PLC is a bad weapon. I'm sure the PLC doesn't appear in PC too often either, but it doesn't mean it needs to be buffed to the level of something as competitive as the ACR. I know this is not what you're implying, I'm just saying that I probably wouldn't feel on par with anyone in PC unless I was using an ACR. Clearly there are very good weapons in this game and average weapons. Judging them by PC standards basically means judge it against the most advantageous choice existing in the game. |

True...but the thing is it shouldnt take two rounds of any weapon just to kill an infantry That sounds fair but I think this weapon is best used as a clean up weapon. It's a backup in my arsenal and when I run out of SMG ammo it can clean up armor very quickly.
My problem with buffing the flay lock is that I can already use it effectively. It was my least favorite thin about this game when t was easy to use because it is totally a bailout weapon. You can sneak up on someone and they could just twist and jump and empy the clip on you and it would be over. Now it's harder to do that but the risk of missing your tree shots and being dead in the water is balanced right now by finishing off an enemy quickly after shields are down.
I'd say it's just a different type of weapon that requires a different approach to use effectively. People used to the scrambler pistol/SMG will have to adjust or be disappointed. But this doesn't mean that the weapon doesn't have its purpose. I don't think it should be buffed to be able to accomplish what a scrambler pistol currently does, for example |
