Judge Rhadamanthus wrote:The CPM is an elected body of seven members, but it only becomes a body once elected. Until the community at large select those to represent them; we are members of that same community just like everyone else, which we remain even after we are elected. We are simply individual players with an interest to assist the game; Nothing more. Being a candidate is not a position, it is a label. A simple sign of intent, and one that we give ourselves; not one that has been earned. Until the community decide that we are something, we are nothing. We must never seek to separate ourselves from them, elevate ourselves above them or decide things in their absence.
Anything I need to say about the elections, the process after or to anyone involved I would like to say out here, in the public sphere. I cannot envision anything I would need to say to a candidate that cannot be said in the communityGÇÖs space for all to see. Here the players can judge me on everything I say and how I treat my fellow candidates. Nothing hidden, no closed doors, no hidden agendas.
I would be glad to take part in pre-election events or to talk openly with the other candidates, but I must politely decline the invitation to join you in a private channel.
I am greatly saddened by the adversarial stance, particularly from a member of the Community who I always thought would make a great CPM member.
The people who expressed an interest in running for CPM1 in January when it was announced that there would be an election for CPM1, set a positive tone for the election by setting up shared chat and skype channels to share ideas and learn to work together, rather than turning the election into an adversarial process.
As each new person has announced their interest in running for CPM1 they have been invited to join the conversation. No one was excluded. The GÇ£in crowdGÇ¥ consisted of anyone who wanted in.
As it became clear that the pool of good candidates had gotten far larger than the 7 available seats on the council, that was OK, because the candidates had confidence in the other people running, and knew that even if they did not get in, we would get a council that could do the job.
The candidates for CPM1 include some of the most prominent members of the community, yet somehow, until now, EGO has never seemed to be an issue. Each candidate was treated with respect by his or her peers, whether they were the CEO of a powerful PC Corp, or just some frontline solder trying to do his part for the community.
The CPM1 candidates have certainly not always agreed. They are not just slapping hands and telling each how great they are. They have disagreed often, and expressed their disagreements in a rational and respectful manner. This is one of the things that gives me the most confidence in our current pool of candidates.
After the removal of Nova Knife from the Council the need for the Council to be able to work together has been highlighted that much more. If we want CCP to take the CPM seriously, we need a CPM who can work together for the good of the community without egos and emotional over reactions disrupting their work. We need candidates who can come to a compromise when appropriate, and agree to disagree when a compromise cannot be reached. We need people who will put their own interests aside for the good of the game!

Or a football leagye where very team hung out and discussed everything up to the last minute before kickoff. To suggest there would'nt be riggiing of some sort going on would be ludicrous. These actions are taking us back down the road towards CPM0. It simply doesn't work in a competitiion.
To be perfectly clear, I am saying without micing words, thait it is elitist. Judge is getting public invites to join, where as I announced my candidacy more than a week ago and have not even been adressed by you, or jackal, who seem more intent on getting Judge's established credebility onto thier campaigns than creating an open public debate that coud help or hinder you verses the competition. Which we all are. Can you link your candidacy thread? I missed it.

I think you've missed the point I was trying to make you made a point about not having a public skype channel, now there is one and still a private one ?...... sooo the point is still why do they need a private channel/s exist ? Because they come from all aspect of the game and most of them have no connections to each other outside of the fact they are running for CPM1.
