Considering Judge Rhadamanthus earned his celebrity through producing excellent Dropship flight training videos (NPE), and making videos to present well thought out analysis of balance issues (Balance), he certainly canGÇÖt be dismissed as a GÇ£Celebrity candidateGÇ¥. I have also followed his posts, and they are generally just as well thought out as his videos.
I hope the Judge works well with others, because he certainly has the intellect and communication skills make an very good CPM member.

Again I need to ask what it's purpose is. It is a channel which people who are interested in the election and trying to decide who to vote for, can meet the candidates in person, chat, or even squad up with them. It also gives CPM1 candidates a chance to squad up and get to know each other. Part of the idea there is to develop a working relationship before the CPM is even elected so that the council can hit the ground running.

If this is a pre show of how well he'll work with other cmp1 members, we're off to a running star Yeah, the level of suspicion in his posts makes me wonder if he was expecting an American style election with attack ads and supper pacts.

Judge Rhadamanthus wrote:The CPM is an elected body of seven members, but it only becomes a body once elected. Until the community at large select those to represent them; we are members of that same community just like everyone else, which we remain even after we are elected. We are simply individual players with an interest to assist the game; Nothing more. Being a candidate is not a position, it is a label. A simple sign of intent, and one that we give ourselves; not one that has been earned. Until the community decide that we are something, we are nothing. We must never seek to separate ourselves from them, elevate ourselves above them or decide things in their absence.
Anything I need to say about the elections, the process after or to anyone involved I would like to say out here, in the public sphere. I cannot envision anything I would need to say to a candidate that cannot be said in the communityGÇÖs space for all to see. Here the players can judge me on everything I say and how I treat my fellow candidates. Nothing hidden, no closed doors, no hidden agendas.
I would be glad to take part in pre-election events or to talk openly with the other candidates, but I must politely decline the invitation to join you in a private channel.
Ok, you have lost my vote. I would have pegged you as one of my tope picks for CPM, but the last thing I want is a member on the Council who canGÇÖt work with others and who will just be disruptive and cause drama.
If you canGÇÖt form close working relationships with the people who want to be part of the CPM before the elections, do you really expect us to believe that you will be able to work with them after the election?

Judge Rhadamanthus wrote:Your vote is yours. But I am still at a loss here. Maybe you can help me understand. Because I didn't want to join one channel, but am plenty available in the official election forum you can conclude I cannot work with others? ANd because other posters started a quite colourful debate, I am somehow responsible for their actions? It has more to do with you starting conspiracy theories. You are almost guaranteed a seat on the council, so there is no need for you to be adversarial. Yet you immediately start accusing the other candidates of elitism and thinking they are above everyone else.

Judge Rhadamanthus wrote:It is you saying those things. Not me. You pulled those meanings from my post. I don't want closed doors? do you? I want my views to be available to all. Don't you? I want to be judged on everything I say. Don't you. Just because I say these things does not mean I am saying that you do not want these things.
Well, CEOPyrex CloneA certainly did not help by jumping on the bandwagon and running with it.

This thread demonstrates exactly why the candidates should have a private Skype channel to get to know each other. When you donGÇÖt know someone it is much more likely that you will misinterpret what they post.
I am not in the CPM1 Candidates Skype channel, because I am not running, and I donGÇÖt need to know that I can work with them or them with me. But I do want to be sure that they can work with each other.
Every other CPM1 Candidates communication medium is open tot he public. I am in the CPM1 Candidates chat channel in game, and have had the opportunity to squad up with many of the candidates and get to know them better. I have listened to the Biomass Podcast where any of the CPM1 Candidates can come on as quests, although preferably not all in the same week or it would be complete chaos.
The level of transparency of the CPM1 candidates has been very high, and really had not been questioned until now. It is a touchy subject, as it was one of the issues people had with CPM0 (wether warranted or not).
I have confidence, because most of the Candidates had very little association before they declared their intent to run, and because most of the Candidates have a passion for the game, that if any of the CPM1 Candidates was not the same in private as they presented themselves to the Public, that they would be called out on it by the other candidates.

I am hoping that If/When they all get to actually talk to each other that all the misunderstandings and misconceptions on both sides will work themselves out.
