Dropships need serious balancing, they can just get above your tank and you can't aim high enough to shoot them or move fast enough, they have no obstacles but you do, you can't just keep on moving backwards trying to move fast enough to get the dropship in your line of fire because you crash into something. And do I need to mention how ridiculously overpowered the one-shot infantry missiles are? And the fact that they can just boost away from your swarms and then rep through them?
Sigh....
Alright first up, a buddy of mine has destroyed dropships with a sniper rifle when it had almost no health so that was a problem on your end.
Now, you want the dropship to simply die because you brought out your tank or swarms. Not because you use them skillfully, but simply because you have them. You don't want a dropship to be able to fight back against you. To that I will simply say htfu.
Dropships can have obsticals they must avoid when chasing tanks, such as bridges and buildings. Though a tank has to use the obsticals to his advantage. If you simply reverse in an open field thinking you will get the dropship in range, your a bad tanker and should feel bad about what you have said.
I hate having to give advice to people who want nothing more than to down my dropship but I pity you for not learning how we operate and learning how to fight us. If you want an advantage on a dropship fit a nos. You can pretty much match a dropships speed with one. Now its up to you to figure out how to use it.
Actually you have to hit the infantry directly to kill them in one shot, with splash it takes two, with heavies it takes 3 (almost half a clip) the only thing that dies in one shot to splash is scouts. Mind you I'm talking about prototype missiles. If you think its easy gunning in a dropship I challenge you to do better than one of my gunners who has flown with me for months if not a year.
An afterburner is our only counter measure for swarms. Our only option is to turn and burn or kill the swarmer. Doesn't matter what kind of maneuver I do without afterburning, they will hit me. So unless we get some chaff or someway to counteract them its not a problem.
Also, we boost away and then rep through them? You mean they hit us after we burn away and we rep through them? Or we rep once we are gone?
Another, "I don't like dropships so they should just be bad" gripe, did the thought of learning how to kill a dropship ever cross your mind?
