How this works: Legion goes to the 'other' contracts and receives a list of corporations hiring for PC. Each of these has an entiry cost that can be set by the corporation. Should you lose, or not be online at the time of battle, the funds will be deposited into the corp wallet and not refunded. This cost is to prevent mercs from going into a PC and AFKing. If the group wins, then they get their security fund back, along with payments, also set by the corporation. If aura cannot find more than 10 mercs for each side, or the sides are severely unbalanced, the battle will be pushed 10mins at a time. If nobody volunteers, all the attackers clones are killed, and not refunded.
This would add great amounts of risk vs reward to legion. Thoughts welcome.
We already have chat channels for this and most corps have go to players to call in as ringers. For me ringing is an example of emergent gameplay that shouldn't be artificially grafted onto the game itself. I can't see any self respecting corporation going to a list of randoms for their PC when they could just go to a dedicated chat channel and choose from who's on. The notion of an entry cost goes against every fiber of a New Eden where players negotiate their own contracts and are free to defraud anyone who can be talked into making a **** deal.
If you don't have enough people on either side, then those corporations shouldn't be in PC. The match should just be cancelled and all members of both corporations and their alts should be permabanned from Legion.
jk. But seriously PC is concrete. You either have enough people on to win or you lose. End of story. PC isnt supposed to be a random thing, it's the most coordinated gamemode in dust and the regardless whether this is implemented or not I guarantee you that the FC's using players they know from chat channels they set up will win every time against FC's who rely on this feature.
This concept doesn't add anything to risk versus reward, it's just something noobs would use to try to fill a PC and then whine about the effectiveness of on the forums when they get beaten by teams that have their **** together. If anything it kills risk vs. reward because you it gives you mercs you know you can rely on to take the game seriously when more emergent forms of the same concept have huge risks for using players who aren't guaranteed not to awox you but whom you can vet yourself more thoroughly.
