First let me say, I am a sniper and I think this is wrong in so many ways.
Was killed twice in quick succession by the same individual. Dropped into the very back (south end) of the map and found him on top of the MMC. Got two shots on him before he dropped down to the ground. I did not see any droplinks or ships near him, so cant say if anyone else was using the MMC as a perch.
I thought this was fixed so that it couldn't happen anymore. Well if it was, then someone exploited it on Mangus Peak, 05/30/14 between 1800 - 1815 Eastern Standard time. Initials are G. H. from El Azteca Empire.

So does this mean that I can report people for using Murder Taxis after CCP fixed the collision damage?

MCC sniping is such a pain. The Caldari MCC has too many spots where equipment could fall through and only a few spots where an individual could snipe from that won't register targets as being 6m away.
The Gallente MCC is a bit easier to do it on, but if an individual is going to take the time to fly a dropship up there, place down some uplinks and nanohives, and be patient enough to deal with the -80% movement speeds so that he/she could find a spot that is sniper friendly, then I say let him/her do it.
They make easy enough targets anyway. |

This wasn't meant to report a person, just as a reference point to investigate if they thought they fixed it.If they know who and where that person was standing, they can go in and re-fix the problem.
And if your suggesting anything else, at least im trying to help the game .. .even though it already received its last rites.

There seem to have been a lot of reversals on equipment problems. When they first fixed the equipment spam lagging out the game they did it by reducing the noise generate and the blue orbs of nanohives when there were too many too close together. It seems this is happening again.
Equipment would just blow up inside an MCC, but I've been seeing a lot of Uplinks inside the MCC again.
I'm going to stress the word, "seem" because I don't know if it's just me thinking it or if they actually reversed those mechanics

I forgot they 'fixed' the droplink/nanohive glitch ... then i dropped a nano to close to my droplink and the nano stopped working ... was a long walk back with only 2 rounds left in my weapon. |

Or make a fix to where if a person or persons are on top of the MMC, there is the 18-20 second timer to get off or else your clone self suicides. Thus these 'snipers' will actually have to find good spots around the map. Gets annoying to have to bring along a dropship pilot or a counter sniper to get the morons off the MCCs. |

I disagree, I would love to go to better positions and as soon as they put some in that's where I'll be, unfortunately for you, they are often the best place to go as a sniper as you can see most of the map. As a sniper only being able to see a small portion of the map would mean not being able to do much.
"It's an inconvieniance to get a drop ship to deal with them" And thus we prove snipers are only an inconvieniance. Would you say that about a proto heavy or a vehicle, how about a cloaked scout?
Snipers should keep moving around? Why, in real life they do so because is dangerous to stay put, in this game clones don't care about death as they live on. They don't move around out of a sense of fairness. I do move around as and when I need to but spending 10 mins out of 20-30 running around instead of helping the team isn't clever.
Also in a game where spy's, corp espionage, etc are encouraged, you want a sniper to avoid a good vantage..
Effort and reward mate, I actually don't enjoy using the MCC and never used it back before they removed other vantages, thing is everybody knows to look up there for snipers, and sometimes its literally the only view point.
There are counters to it, sniping from an extended angle, go high and pick them off, get an add, shoot them with a tank, go up to them directly with a cqc weapon. Also using combinations if your in a squad... Again a sniper should be a very real threat that requires work to deal with, not something that the entire squad ignores as unimportant. (Ever seen saving private Ryan?).

Guess the fix has been removed. Lost three matches today because half the team (in all three matches!!!) were in sniper fits sitting on top of the MCC. |

The real problem about MCC sniping is hit detection and false reading, as long as i can remeber the sniper rifle in dust always had false readings of targets behind walls or behind terrains, targets that you should not see, but you see them with normal efficiency reading of 90% on shields.
I don't like who goes there but afterall it is a place like another and over there you are completely exposed, if it wasn't for the bad hit detection and invisible walls (mcc shield)

Atiim wrote:So does this mean that I can report people for using Murder Taxis after CCP fixed the collision damage? That's a different matter altogether. Collision damage was simply nerfed, to be less easy, but still possible. With MCC sniping, CCP attempted to remove it altogether.

You never know if you're actually going to hit the sniper or not.
