You seem to think dropships are a much greater threat than they are. You think they're easy mode? Try it.
At least suicide LAVs were born of necessity, a tank can destroy your RDV before your vehicle can drop, it can tank repeated FG hits, swarms, PLC and remotes. A suicide LAV can only approach on one plane of attack.
A suicide DS can attack from multiple planes, is typically moving so fast that by the time it pops up on your Tacnet you can't dodge, and oh yeah takes prolonged effort even with proto mis soles to kill, so even if you spot it in time it can just keep coming and kill you anyway.
It's akin to being infantry and all the other guy has to do to kill your proto suit is touch you with his militia one.
Oh, and by the way, vehicle scanners suck.
I pilot DS. I pilot tanks. What does that even have to do with mercenaries finding means to destroy a threat?
Any threat on the field is a threat on the field. Let's not be coy about the situation. An ADS can disrupt alot that's happening on ground.
But the subject of the matter is not about the lethality of the ADS. It's about an OP who doesn't like being suicide rammed by another DS, which is viable tactical approach to an attacking ADS.
That's the point of this thread. The collision part is just used so that he wouldn't seem like he's whining or to get his point slickly across. That he wants to eliminate the suicidal dropship.
The title alone states that. Let's not sidestep that issue at hand.
The tactic should be accepted. I have laughed in the past when someone suicide my tank. Kamikaze is a part of war and I can appreciate the enemy doing what he can to eliminate the threat.
So basically, he should up his awareness. If its happening to him, then he should take it as a compliment to his piloting skills, laugh it off, get back in the game and be more careful next time.
It's simple. How is that so hard to do? Lick your wounds and get back in the fight. Stop looking to CCP to help you continue your onslaught unaffected. This happens all too often with players. They can get kills all day using a certain means to get that but once the tables turn, boom...its time to open a thread and request game changes. That's just plain terrible.
