Fact of the matter is during 1.6 they were not that far off and did not have to totally rework vehicles .
They were trying to make then more accessible and beginner user friendly where you didn't have to make an investment to get a positive outcome which was and is @$$ backwards .
Every role should be more effective if your placing SP's into that role and not just acquiring the shell and be just as effective with that shell and not the tools that go into that shell .... it should take the tools as well to make the role effective .
Not just the a prototype suit with basic or advanced mods and material and not just the turrets and hulls without the core intact .
That's instant gratification ... reward without the work which is killing the definition of roles in this game .
There should be no quick fix and if your not as effective than you should have to work until you become effective and that's that .
People whine when they have to work for something , they want to have instant access and gratification as well and that's catering to a child's mentality .
Now they have to re-break what they re-broke to get the results that will lead to balance .

Meh MLT Tanks are significantly more viable than STD just because of pure ISK efficiency. Since you get a nice 30% damage buff on the Railgun...you don't even need skill. I'm surprised tankers survive when a Sica pilot hits the field.

If the railgun wasn't so overtly more powerful than other weapons then you'd see a greater combo of laser, assault and mass drivers out there but no you see shotguns, railguns and combat rifles as the main weapons that kill all infantry. This has been always as much as an issue as tripple hardeners on maddys and it gets whiteknighted so much that it's what ultimately hurts Dust. |

Getting 3 shoted in a gunnlogi by a rail, isnt much fun. You have no time to react no chance to fight back and since any tom **** or harry can bring one in to take you out then run to redline and recall. How is that fair in any retrospective.
Either, reduce damage, 2 shots should overheat it, 3 or 4 bullets in clip then reload, damage mods giving less to rails.
Its just something so u have a chance to fight back. As it is now is a joke. I would rather go up against a heavy with a toxin better odds on killing him, nades plus speed gives u a chance to kill him or to distract him for a friendly to assist u.

The railgun is as unbalanced as if shotguns had no spread and had optimal ranges out to 100m.
Damage mods simply need to be nerfed and railguns need to have a range profile like the laser rifle. 100% from 200-300m, down to 50% at 100m and finally 30% at 50m. They are supposed to be ranged weapons, not CQC auto shotguns with highest DPS.

railgun can easily be out down by a blaster in cqc.. just about everything will move faster than the rate the rail turret can turn. which is why its better to use it at range.
dmg mods going from 30 to 20% could be acceptable though.
