They're the reason the railgun range was cut in half. They're also generally terrible, either camping a mountaintop, or only coming out of the redline when an enemy tank is nearby. This in my opinion is the worst way to tank. It's ultra-conservative (in a non political way), and only serves to make those that keep their tank outside their own redline mad all the time. I haven't built up over a year of experience in tanks just so some scrub can poo all over that experience.
Oh, and CCP, when are you going to fix the railgun misfire glitch?
(wait, I know the answer to that, for Legion, not Dust)
(in before "lol sparker u use milisha" and "lol sparky you hide in the redline too")

Rail is my best turret, despite how much it screws up.
Legit? "Legit?" I don't cheat on the game. That's about as legit as you can get. I simply don't follow the status quo the majority of the forums wants for the game, and that's 100% infantry 100% of the time. I probably can't be infantry like you can, but you sure as hell can't be a tanker like I am.

Scrub people start to call in Blasters to pad their KDR? Ok it's time to summon my Gundam Gunnlogi with his Rail, and bring a Heavy suit with FG. Why i need to bring out only a Forge when i can call in a tank and be 90% invulnerable ? Call in a tank to dispose of tank.... was what you were hoping back then? or am i wrong? I love how all of you think all I use is blaster. My name isn't duna2002, and I AM able to take on other tanks and win.

In terms of tank v tank... I agree damage mods are far too powerful and 'damage tanking' with a rail on a caldari tank is really silly powerful.
I would make several changes to tanking myself: Damage Mods - low slot passive 10% - up to 1.6, changed because infantry wanted CCP to change tanks. Again. Add - Heat Sink - High slot passive module - see above. Change armor reps to active module. - see above.
In terms of tanking in general... I would change it so that infantry have about 90% resistance to large turret damage. The functionally removes HAVs from the game while leaving them in place for those who want them. Basically if you can't get tanks removed, you just want them nerfed wholesale again.

There is absolutely nothing a tank can do that an assault suit cannot. A tank is just an overpowered slayer in Dust and that is it.
Tanks want to be buffed and non-tankers want them nerfed and that is the entire story of the tanking since chromosome.
If tanks were removed from the game nothing would change, can't really say that about any other vehicle in the game.
So if tankers really want to exist outside of being an overpowered slayer? Then we reduce AV vs tanks by 90% and large turrets vs infantry by 90%. If tanks are really more than just a tool for players who want god mode then this change should be completely fine with tankers. Of course you can't see anything else from your point of view.
I want something different from mindless PRO infantry.

Give me one reason for tanks to exist other than to slay infantry and kill other tanks slaying infantry. Ground-mobile hardened spawn point.

No i know you use,and need, Every crutch( even cloack scout+ RE just to Die VS a Sidearm or suicide yourself) to protect your and your boyfriend takasomething B.tank. After seeing you on ground it's clear that you need to have 90% Immunity to all weapon, just to survive out there. Oh, yeah, an alternate playstyle is a crutch.
When Cal logis were being nerfed, it was the end of Dust.
When the TARs were being nerfed, it was the end of Dust.
When the Core Flaylock was being nerfed, it was the end of Dust.
What else am I missing?

We've also lost a lot of hulls, modules, and turret variants because all infantry did was complain that they couldn't solo tanks with the MLT anti armor start fit.

Every single thread people like you have made, complaining about tanks and tankers in ambush, and how you can't do anything against half a team of tanks? That's not me.
So no, I haven't ruined tanking.
I used to split dom and skirmish, and now I just play dom. I don't do ambush, and if I do, it's while waiting for someone to finish a game. I don't play ambush all day every day.
I also don't always use a blaster. I have access to the PRO tier of all 3 large turrets. I also use them all, with rail being my best, despite how often it misfires.
I haven't ruined tanking. We've adapted to every nerf you and CCP have thrown at us. Yet you continue to complain, unable to wrap your heads around teamwork and proper placement. I notice corps from Russia, Brazil, Poland, and the French have zero problems destroying tanks. Why? Because they just get it done without complaining. You English-speaking mouthbreathers however, you couldn't destroy a base HP shield lav with a forge gun if it didn't have a driver in it.
