According to the radar legend there should be at least 1 more type of land and air vehicles out there. For land there should be something in the medium range and for air there should be a light air-frame.
Dust will not see either of these though.
IF we are lucky we will see some AV adjustments in some way, however i am not holding my breath. I am also not really playing these days. I also sure as heck am not giving ccp any more of my cash. |

Just to wiggle one of the many blades bugging you guys I have a friend that just now got to Wyko(whatever) swarms. Guess what? They fail just like turrets and several of the hand weapons. Fire the weapon, missiles leave yet no damage is done.
A consistent set of core functions, that is what you have now. If Legion is going to inherit this code you could do us all a favor and pass on that the basic FPS functionality has yet to work (consistently and correctly at the same time is the normal goal).
Nobody at CCP cares because we ain't Legionnaires.

This is why you need to notify players about Dust's reduced development somewhere in-game CCP.

No new content in the foreseeable future. People have been complaining since the beginning because of technical issues, and now CCP is starting to work on those. Now that CCP has stated that they will no longer be putting PVE into Dust(the game engine, and programming are just to much in its current form) everyone is all shocked and butt-hurt about it.

I really don't think that jets would have a place or purpose in DUST, this post seems like it's goading the devs into
admitting something in an effort to "expose" them or "call them out", but they manned up and admitted it so GG CP and CPM I guess.
If you want to fly around you need open-world, if you like transporting to huge battles then play Planetside 2 although you have to be in the right place at the right time, games need large player numbers to keep going. DUST has 2 sides to the coin: we want it to be large scale but small lobby-style battles keep a game "alive" in one sense by only needing small player counts.
The grand vision I guess is a New Eden battleground, transporting troops across a large open-world terrain to huge battles, but not on the PS3.

Lets understand a few things. To CCP soon = months. So its fair to assume something that is not even in the planning phase may mean years. With CCP not planning on client side updates at all i think never is a pretty fair assumption given how long soon takes.
Of course CCP COULD avoid all this by actually commiting to dates and setting deadlines especially ones that are obtainable. I am not being unreasonable but so far there have been no mentions of when CCP even wants to do the things they plan on doing never mind anything else. |

I realize that "content" these days mean "more weapons", but lol
For a game as promising as DUST was, I can't believe that the extent of new "content" is new weapons. Geez, more weapon?!! THANK YOU!!!
That makes up for all the **** that was promised. I mean with more weapons I can play on different more variable maps right?! I mean with these new weapons I can drive my Amarr tank into battle that EvE players help fund no?
Far as I'm concerned, new weapons isn't content. It's more like "variation". CCP's adding more variation to the game, not more content. Even that variation is going to take another 6-12 months to be added, IF it's added at all. |

I have been here since they sent me my closed beta key.
The problems and bug's you speak of are core mechanic issues that will never be fixed.
They are issues with the way this game was Coded.
There was no forward thought when developing DUST... with the mentality that it was a Cutting edge Title Using Cutting Edge Code , game development and Game Engines.
It was a Cutting Edge Concept and that's about it.
It's University level coding, With a decade old Game engine, a 1 hit Wonder Developing Company.. And the forward thought of the Mcdonalds Manager that still forgot to put a napkin and straw in your bag.
You can pretend that putting Lipstick on this pig will suddenly make it look like a Girl... But Who is left to deal with DUST wouldn't know where to start in fixing the rat nest and terrible coding...
We know where DUST is broken.., It has been brokn around that spot most likely for 6 months+ and we have learned to adapt around it.
I Would rather more shinny **** to play with before they turn the lights out... Or a Taste of EVE Legion With seeing Amarr and Minmatar Assets being tested in a simplistic way on DUST. |

The problems and bug's you speak of are core mechanic issues that will never be fixed. They are issues with the way this game was Coded. There was no forward thought when developing DUST... with the mentality that it was a Cutting edge Title Using Cutting Edge Code , game development and Game Engines. It was a Cutting Edge Concept and that's about it. It's University level coding, With a decade old Game engine, a 1 hit Wonder Developing Company.. And the forward thought of the Mcdonalds Manager that still forgot to put a napkin and straw in your bag. You can pretend that putting Lipstick on this pig will suddenly make it look like a Girl... But Who is left to deal with DUST wouldn't know where to start in fixing the rat nest and terrible coding... We know where DUST is broken.., It has been brokn around that spot most likely for 6 months+ and we have learned to adapt around it. I Would rather more shinny **** to play with before they turn the lights out... Or a Taste of EVE Legion With seeing Amarr and Minmatar Assets being tested in a simplistic way on DUST.
I don't know, seems like CCP Rattati has his **** together and is genuinely trying to make it a better overall gaming experience. There may be hope for dust yet, so I wouldn't start looking for nails to put in the lid.
Yes legion will most likely come, but I think that we still have at least 2 years left before dust is shut down....unless by some mark of fate, they drop legion and revamp dust entirely(which they said they aren't going to do).
Yes the issues are in the coding, but you can re-code....They have test servers for that...And I have faith that CCP Rattati will mold dust into the game it should have been. Guess I am not jaded yet like so many others. |
