Please don't listen to the OP if he is wrong and present misinformation to the Devs. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvYSJ6FRJlihdHRWMFFxUDVPbzZPVTdjZmNwR2loYXc&usp=drive_web#gid=0The only way to get under a Gal Logi's scans is by dampening or being a Gal Scout, and the only way to get under his Focused Scanner is being dampened AND cloaked if they aren't Gallente, and even the Gal Scout needs two dampeners to be unscannable without the cloak. Although his point about cloak duration compared to Focused Scanner duration is an extremely important point, and yes I believe it should be addressed to the Devs. So, having to use a proto scanner on a maxed out suit is balanced? With just the cloak, dampening skill maxed and suit skill maxed (gal scout of course) it can avoid every scanner apart from the focused on a maxed gal logi. Is that really fair? |

JP Acuna wrote:a 80 second cloak is a proto one. a level 5 Gal Logi can have a 15db precision with the Duvolle Focused Scanner. You can even go further down in PASSIVE precision with at least 4 suits.
You're talking about a maxed out scout here, then consider a maxed out counter too.
Active scanning is a great advantage, you can't expect to see everyone through walls, especially scouts who are made for stealth. It goes down to 16db not 15. 25% of 20 is 4. 20-4 = 16 |

You do seem to forget that no scanner can scan any scout when cloaked apart from the a focused scanner. That is not balanced |

It's the stealthiest suit. Scanning is for tactical purposes (orbital strikes, ADS strikes, squad positioning, finding uplinks and now even remote explosives!!) not for seeing everyone. Unless you're a Cal scout, but then again you have a limit for dampening, just like the Gal scout has a limit for precision. Caldari scout can do the same if the lows use damps.

Well, they're all scouts. Who said scanners were made to spot scouts anyway. They're all stealthy suits. I don't think that being unable to scan them is an imbalance. It would break the role, the cloak, and it would be OP. Not being seen is not the same as seeing all. Yes but that person who cant be scanned can scan almost everyone else without needing an equipment. |
